THANK YOU! I love the tougher women of the time and everyone talks at the perfect rhythm-clip to get through the story in an hour instead of two. Really worth the time. Many thanks!
I see where a young J Gleason would have romantic interludes with Joan Crawford and Ann Sheridan . His short stay at Warner Bros.. He must have been busy. Also in this movie , the previously mentioned William Hopper , before war service turned his hair grey. And the Frank Wilcox, Mr. Brewster from the BH, a handsome man in younger days. The star of this opus was Faye Emerson, a icon of early television known for low cut dresses.
Wonderful oldie! A different concept that produced beautifully. Just goes to show, things are Rarely what they seem. If you want the truth of a thing, get it directly from the horse’s mouth, not the rumor mill. ❤ Oops! Didn’t realize this is a 1933 remake with Barbara Stanwyck, which I haven’t seen yet. Look forward to it!
Thank you S S C for this memorable movie 🍿 Totally enjoyable 👋 Please hold Tiny ✍️😉 She is Good and can faint all at the same time 👠👕👛🦚🍒🥁🚝 She must catch the train 🚂 See you now on the big screen 📺🫒🍸
In reality, the charwoman would never have been allowed to participate in the conversation between the lawyer and the director of the women's prison as it is shown from 40:17. Besides, the director calls what she had heard from the charwoman "facts". This is unrealistic too, at least today. Nevertheless, a very nice movie.
What made her innocent all of a sudden? She was as guilty as all sin. No wonder crime is as high as it is today when they showed movies as to how to get away with it in those days.
Low budget film. Of the many, which were filmed, during World War II. Some emerged from those films as future stars (Jackie Gleason and William Hopper)
i'm never disappointed watching "old" movies. Always enjoy. This is very enjoyable, too. Many thanks.
Soooooooo much DRAMA packed into one hour! Better by far then today's movies!👍
I disagree with you. This is nostalgia speaking in you.
Nothing better then the 40 s movies, just love .
Agreed!
Fast moving, entertaining movie. Good cast, including young Jackie Gleason! I enjoyed every minute.👍

During the 40's I was a kid in SF; great restaurants and even cooler movies; I'm in my 70's.
Me, too.

How did Dot Burton not get more time added to her sentence for breaking out?
Every now and again she looks like... Maureen O'Hara. PS. Not a bad film. More than expected.

That's what I thought. Going to investigate.
Comments below I.D. William Hopper. My investigation ends.

JACKIE GLEASON! WHOA! THAT'S THE KICK!
Most of the inmates in that prison could be beauty queens and that little thin stool pigeon had a well developed little body.

Por quê não tem filmes legendados no nosso idioma português brasileiro?
If you are living in USA, America you will see English language only on youtube channel.😉
