These Edwardian ghost stories prove to be timeless masterpieces. They never seemed fictional to the reader or listener as they were much closer to reality. The beauty of it was that they were never vulgar and were written by the intellectual minds of the era with a flair for elegant construction that led to an all-embracing denouement. It was much like a gradual crescendo.
The writer of this piece, the late Reverend Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson, was a sibling of another Edwardian writer, Edward Frederick Benson, who produced his own share of supernatural stories much to the delight of the literary world.
Thank you so much for uploading this beautiful vintage flick 😃🍷 Cheerio!

Wowee, wow, wow, wow! This is what quality storytelling and classic film making are all about. Subtle, yet in the end, what a powerful and beautiful message. Brilliant understated performances and script. Great British period scenery and a wonderful look at a world gone by. But timeless messages that need repeating. Absolutely uplifting... and spooky in a good way. Brilliant. Thanks for uploading this forgotten gem.

GOD forbids 'communion' with the dead through witchcraft, divination, etc. The only reason He allowed Samuel to be conjured by the witch of Endor was to teach Saul a lesson for his wickedness.
Another point to remember is that Samuel happened long before Christ "led captivity captive", and moved the righteous from Paradise to Heaven. From His resurrection onward, the only souls within this earth are the wicked in hell. Attempting to commune with them opens a disastrous portal for demonic activity.

For a taste of "The Lord of the World" check out the "synopsis" on Wikipedia. Completely indigestible. I'm astonished anyone could actually read the entire turgid novel without wanting to cut their own throat. I know the author was a priest but it's nothing but Catholic propaganda. An anti-humanist, anti-progressive and anti-all-other religions diatribe.

This movie really takes place on the very, very dark side of Riseholme or Tilling. Many of the characters at the beginning seem to be right out of R. H. Benson's brother's Mapp and Lucia series. I wonder if Rev. Bartlett would be able to handle this situation. Or, perhaps, the Guru.

Now take a good look at the 2016 GOP elephant with three stars on its back, all pointing down to honor Baphomet, while Televangelist Rapture Prophets and Evangelical Zionist Mega-Church Pastors proclaimed Trump, chosen by God to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Inadvertently, they became the synagogue of Satan.

@ Humboldhammer2 You are correct. American democracy demolished in 4 years. Who woulda thunk it was possible? Well, a lot of us did and tried really hard to warn people what was coming with trump. The only evil I did not predict was a world-wide plague. The rest, even American city streets on fire with all the riots, I fully expected to see if trump was elected. They voted in The Apprentice guy. They got the Howard Stern show guy who disgusted even that audience. Gullible fools.

@@wendybutler1681 - I am curious about your comment . 1st - How was democracy demolished in 4 years , can or would you be specific in the issues that destroyed our democracy ? 2nd - The riots and burning of the cities { I live in Portland OR , one of those cities } all started over George Floyd being needless killed by the Police , did you fully expect to see that ? Did Trump kill George Floyd ? Weren't the riots in 2020 , the last year of Trumps term ? Where were the riots and burning of cities in the first 3 years of Trumps term that you fully expected ? Your comment seems to be another blanket accusation with no specific points of debate , commonly given by un-informed liberals .. I would welcome an honest debate with you , you provide searchable facts supporting your position & and will either agree with you or I will offer searchable facts showing you are mistaken . Lets put our premises and conclusions on the table and learn from eachother . I think this would benefit both of us much more than " orange man bad " statements ,,, Sincerely ,, Gullible Fool .

Dealing with demons is a dangerous game~ mere humanistic 'feelings of love', or catholic hoodoo-voodoo, with goofy incense and Latin chants will only lead to destruction, and then satan prevails.
It takes a heart filled with the Holy Spirit, a mind filled with GOD's word, and prayer in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that's truly all that is required.

If one is upper class one takes tea
If you are middle class you have a cup of tea
If you are working class you 'ave a cuppa or give us a brew
In most cases you pronounce the 'T' and not 'D' as is in general usage in America ie duty not doodee etc. The letter is for a reason otherwise the alphabet would abcdefghijklmnopqrsduvwxyz :)

Yes, I read descriptions of a given movie on Wikipedia. They also list the actors and a lot of the tech aspects for a movie. Be sure to type the name of the movie with proper capitalization and include the year if you have it. That way Wikipedia knows to search for a movie or a book. @@TS-1267
