This trip episode is the exact journey that me and my wife want to do when we finally retire in 2023. We will also be pulling a travel trailer during our adventure. We will be leaving from Ct so we won't be going thru Long Island but south of NYC we would like to take the same route that you took. Thanks for giving us a preview and ideas that we will incorporate on our trip.

I’m so happy to see you were able to spend time in the Outer Banks. They are my souls home, and I truly believe one of the most peaceful and beautiful places in this country. Your (perceived) reluctance to leave is exactly how I feel when I have to move on from there. Hopefully next time you can spend time in the northern area, so you can see the wild horses actually playing on the beach and in the water.
To anyone who wonders if the sunrises are really that beautiful..yes, yes they are.

It's a real pity that you couldn't spend more time in Ocracoke. It's the one place I know of on the east coast with a real subculture. If you park your car and walk around the town you'll encounter small graveyards everywhere from generations of local fisherman. From what I understand, the English language didn't become common on the island until the ferry system was started in the 1950's. For a time, the outer banks was a proposed nuclear test site. Can you believe that? I've lived in NC for 30 years and Ocracoke is the one place I love to return to.

Your videos are great and I love that you get out and explore wherever you are unlike some other traveling video makers who just drive through or get out and walk a short short distance and then back to the vehicle. Thanks for what you do!!!!❤

I lived on the Outer Banks for 25 years off and on so when I heard the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse was going to be moved I drove down from DC and got hired by the main company contracted for the move. The highlight was climbing the stairs to the light level during hurricane Dennis after losing my truck to the ocean. Beautiful place but now Carolina Beach is my summer spot which I highly recommend especially if you have kids.

Glad you got the chance to cruise down the Outer Banks and go to 1718 brewing etc. I’ve been out there twice now and loved it both times, it was awesome to see it on video and kind of relive it again. The first time my wife and I went we drove the OBX from basically Kitty Hawk down to Ocracoke then the ferry back to main land( that’s a downer they were sold out of passes on that ferry for you) and the second time I wanted to truly drive the whole thing so we went from Corolla to Ocracoke and back up to Duck where we were staying. I never wanted to leave when we were there either just like the keys they’re an amazing stretch of islands.

A great video. We did a very similar trip in October of 2022. Beautiful. I know what you mean about highways where you are literally along the sea. I would suggest Quebec highway 132 around the Gaspe Penninsula. It is just over 500 miles around, and the sea is in full view for the vast majority of it... quite an amazing stretch of road actually.. safe travels.

Your quick visit to Ocean City brought back many fond childhood memories as my late father was from the Eastern Shore of MD town of Cambridge and I spent many a summer vacation with my MD cousins frolicking in the Ocean City beach surf. And no visit to that beach would be complete without ending it with an order of Thrashers french fries. Robert, on your next visit to that area bypass the burger and beer joints and head to some local place and order up some world famous Maryland blue crabs which I who is a lifelong Rhode Islander and has very easy access to decent priced lobster prefer blue crabs over lobster hands down!!!

Beautiful video of morning on Assateague Island. Very artistic. Lived in area for 10 years. Went tent camping there once and ponies were a bit rude while we tried cooking breakfast. One stole a loaf of bread and ate it and somehow spit out the plastic. Another grabbed some bacon. Definitely did not like it and forcefully expelled it. Wish I knew you were going to the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras. My daughter and son in law own the first restaurant(or Eatery as its called) on the right when you get to Buxton. You usually see horses at Assateague Island parks in the surf when it is hot and buggy, mostly summertime. They go in the water to get away from the bugs. Horses like to stay in areas that have grasses so they can eat with less bugs. We had a campsite in the open with grass all around us and the horses were there every day. You can also see them just before you leave or after you come on the island from the bridge. They are scattered in the wetlands there. Oh, I just saw your pictures going off the island. And the horses were where I predicted. I haven't seen them that close to the bridge or road there, but they are wild animals. I'm glad you made it to the National Seashore.
