I've learned over the years to just have fun, getting upset about something like this won't do any good!! 17yrs without being in the hot seat definitely has its affects...🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️
Good stuff. My son and I are both working on our cars right now. I'm hoping someday we can race at the track. Not that there are any tracks left in my part of Texas.
It's an Edelbrock plate with 71N/75F jetting which is supposed to be 150hp. I do have a -6 feed line and big solenoids though. This setup on another car I had produced 172hp at the wheels on a dyno.
@@Crossthe_line im 50 years old ive not ben on the track in a good while .. i still have 3 foxbodies and one is a drag car but its a automatic … id say when i finally make it down to the dragstrip with it ill be just like you were .. when you get it back to the track you will be hard for him to beat . .. here is a tech tip .. when im building 5.0 motors and im using arp head studs i torque the heads down around 100 pounds .. i torqued one on down to 112 pounds ( 351w) torque spec .. i aim on leaning on it a lil bit harder with twin turbos !!! Keep that secret between us !!! Lol
I went all old school with this build, used and the cheapest parts possible which meant reusing old head bolts. I have a new set of ARP head bolts, felpro "high performance" head gaskets and felpro 1250 intake gaskets. I'll be wrenching on it tomorrow and getting the heads back on it.
@@Crossthe_line make sure you get at least a 3200 stall converter .. ive used them behind pretty much a stock motor and i went 5 tenths of a second faster in the 1/8 mile .. if you can find a c4/c5 transmission they are the lightest and takes least hp to turn but the downfall is you will need to freshen them up every winter ..
Yeah missed 3rd, popped the head gasket on #5 and still managed the same mph as him. We're going to do it again in 3 weeks, this time I'll granny shift just to make sure I don't miss a gear!! 🤣🤣
Fun stuff! Awesome job throwing it together and wheeling it down the track!

I am considering going automatic because my daughter and girlfriend are interested in racing it.

@@Crossthe_line that’s all that matters !!
You would have put a whooping on that new edge if you didn't miss gears

You could have had him. Though you money shifted there for a second.
Could have, unfortunately my low talent light was shining bright!! 🤣
