Found this Edsel on Marketplace and the gentleman said it was unrestorable so picked it up and decided to get it running and driving again.

@Crossthe_line the public back in the day wasn't convinced for sure...today they turn heads to them but back them, nobody blinked an eye. 26 months was for sure a short run.
E400 is a 361 CID (400 was torque). It was a slightly over-bored 352, which later got bored up to 390. It’s a good engine!
@brianandrews7099 I had heard they put torque numbers on valve covers but wasn't sure, thanks for the info!! The engine really runs good, just needs some love.
Hi, nice find and i noticed the rear mount antenna holes so at some point your 58 Edsel had a two-way mobile radio and with the black Duco it has maybe it is a former police unit, some US states did have Edsel police cars, it is worth saving for sure, good luck with it, cheers from grant.

@@Crossthe_line Cheers and yes it had a large whip style rear antenna on it at some point, my 57 Plymouth is a former law enforcement car so i look for tell-tale clues of former police cars, they can be worth big dollars now so check into it a bit more and i hope you keep it and save it, cheers and it would be cool to find out it was an old patrol car, cheers from grant

So everyone finds a 58 Edsel? People watch these because of the car not the getting it running part. Many people do metal detecting videos, you could say they are all the same thing too. The thrill is the variety of finds and feeling like you are along for the treasure hunt. Quit trolling.

I mean it is true .. will like it runs but if newer channels want higher views they have to make it better ..camera on the exhaust when it first starts up body and paint work. That’s just a couple examples.. Pole Barn garage is the best channel on RUclips by far. Not putting down your channel just saying what a lot of people like
I have that same turbo on my 97 5 speed 12v. Runs hell of good. Luckly i live in utah 20mins from industrial injection and 2hrs from power driven diesel so its easy to get parts and the wait time is the same day haha. Nice build dude

I was beyond excited until i saw the Predator lmaooo. I have almost the same project in my garage. My 87 Chevy Sprint (Metro's older brother) now has a Mustang 2 Kmember/suspension and an 8.8 rear end in it. Unibody-on-frame so itll be pretty stout. LS 6.0 install coming soon. Working on tubbuing out the rear for drag radials and cutting out the firewall and trans tunnel next. I plan to fab the hump out of roof flashing.

I'm not sure on the 4l60e. If there's a speed sensor in the tailshaft housing then that's needed for shifting. This old mechanical transmission only has a speedo cable and not needed.

The different tie rod length will be a problem also. The distance between pivots appears to be longer, so the outer end will not follow the same arc as the spindle, even if the outer tie rod and lower ball joint are aligned.
