Hi Kait, I have been doing some research on skin tags and came across your videos which provides a lot of information and I am keen into learning more about insulin resistance and how it relates to skin tags. I have alot of skin moles after three pregnancy and was told by a dermatologist that's it serraboric keratosis. I am also seeing alot of small tiny black spots popping around my neck and face, when I eat sweets they seems to show up more. Hearing your videos on insulin resistance and going on low carbs makes sense which I would start implementing in my diet. However, would like to know whether serraboric keratosis is also cause by the same reasons. Also, if i change my diet completely would my skin tags and serraboric keratosis goes away? Having them on my skin does not make me feel confident in myself. Just a note, I was also diagnosed last year after having baby 3 with auto immune thyroiditis and was on meds. for about 6months but eventually off once I stop breast feeding and blood test shows improvement. Please advise what I can do. I feel going to see my GP is just a waste of time as they don't address the cause but symptoms and don't do nothing much to help. Thanks!🙏🏾❤️
Health Coach Kait, I just love you; simply because you are so realistic ! Frankly I had given up as a result of those extremist Keto maniacs who are so dogmatic and failed to listen to me. Combining intermittent fasting with keto as a way to reverse insulin resistance so I could beat my diabetes just didn't work for me. I dangerously lost weight to the point that I looked like a skeleton. I kept asking how not to lose weight so much in the Eric Berg's group, all they told me was "we don't give medical advice." I hated the fact that they were focusing so much on weight loss that when I complained about losing too much weight, I was treated like an enemy of the ketogenic diet or intermittent fasting. One day, I heard Jason Fung saying that intermittent fasting was not for everyone. That day I decided to rest my case. I'm happy to see that you are much more scientific and realistic, that you're not an extremist Keto maniac know-it-all. You gave me hope. In one of your videos you even added legumes on the list of what to eat and you mentioned various fruits. I was so happy about that. Those keto gurus would only recommend berries and they would batch tropical fruits altogether. Thanks a bunch Kait for making it doable.
I started keto 3 weeks ago and have lost 6 pounds so far. I've definitely had cravings for sweets and pasta but I do find high fat/protein meals to be a lot more filling. Thanks for creating this channel. I've already learned a lot.
Hey, Coach Kait! Thank you for bringing information to those of us looking for a healthier lifestyle. I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome: insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, hyperlipidemia, etc. I have been on large amounts of steroids for 30 years for mold exposure and lung disease. I have been low carb for a year, but losing little weight - 32 pounds. I have a long way to go. I do intermittent fasting usually everyday 18:6. I eat about 8-10 oz protein with a small salad and a non starchy vegetable. I usually eat 1 or 2 meals a day. My blood sugars are still in the 106-130 range even when fasting. What am I doing wrong?
I’ve been adding a lot more meat for protein. Like double my usual & feel better already. Doesn’t leave much room for other foods, but that’s okay. Also, it keeps me from snacking. Have lost 7lbs too. 👍
Been doing low carb for about 5 months now. Insulin resistance is still the same, carb cravings still as bad, weight is still very stubborn, but I do feel better overall and it became a lifestyle eating this way at this point. Somehow it does get better in time. Hopefully my body will respond and be more insulin sensitive. The alternative is diabetes and HELL no, I will not allow it.
Thanks for the information you post. It's really helped me understand eating to reverse my Pre-Diabetes dx. I don't have the typical indicators of diabetes so I know I can reverse this. I really think I brought this on myself by eating bars as a mid-morning snack. Bars, as in the granola bar and protein bars. I didn't realize they were loaded with carbs, sugar and added sugars. I know I shouldn't be snacking but a scoop of peanut butter (only peanuts and sea salt) when I'm feeling I need a little something keeps me from grazing. Again, Thanks for all your content.
Well I have a tyroid issue and I learned a few days ago that beef, coconut oil, broccoli and other stuff that I've been eating is very bad for someone with this issue, but I also came accross a post that stated what my thyroid does it pretty much does what it wants and makes me gain weight even if I reduce my foods, so most of the time the less I eat, the more I've been gaining, I'm at a loss to trying at trying to eat healthy and losing the weight.
Thanks for all your great advice !! I really would like to transition to 2 meals a day but I feel soo hungry I end up snacking in between - 3 is the number for me which prevents snacking - curious if Kait has any advice on 2 vs. 3 meals and how to make the transition or choose between these number of meals?
Hi Kait, is having a couple of tbl spn of olive oil mayo with my tuna and cucumber salad except able? I chop lettuce, cucumber, onion and pickle then add a little bit of mayo topped with tuna with a pinch of salt and pepper. Is this ok for a meal? - Thank you!
Hello Coach Kait! Wondering how to do this template with elevated cholesterol. Mine is 251. How and what kind of fat should I add in? Thank you for all your great teaching! Many blessings to you!! Val
I eat 1 ounce of mixed nuts (walnuts, pecans, and almonds) or 1 hard-boiled egg or 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, or 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese and these foods do not spike my blood sugar much.
Kait, Thank you for your videos. Really appreciate them much. I have a problem I just can't seem to figure out though. It has to do with fact that I am hypoglycemic. Between that and trying to keep my insulin levels down, I just can't seem to figure out how to handle both situations. Do you have any advice on this?
”Epidemiological evidence and intervention studies clearly show that in humans saturated fat significantly worsen insulin-resistance, while monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids improve it through modifications in the composition of cell membranes which reflect at least in part dietary fat composition. ” Dietary fat, insulin sensitivity and the metabolic syndrome G Riccardi et al. Here's my deal--I can only eat so much. That means if I'm looking to consume enough protein at each meal, eating fruits & veggies will make me more full so I won't get enough protein, so as a result I eat very little of them. Plus, it doesn't take very many berries to spike my blood sugar. I've moved to more ketovore now to more easily keep my carbs down, so it's already heavy on meat consumption.
Type 1 is autoimmune and cannot be reversed BUT the same outline mentioned in this video can still help to manage the condition. Because less insulin is needed for this way of eating, you will see less fluctuations in blood sugar and have a reduced need for insulin injections ❤️
I am overweight and it happened after having thyroid removed. I am now pre diabetic. I dont eat a lot so was not understanding why i am still fat. Its not like you can grab my fat but i am big. I eat a round of toast, a sandwich or round sandwich and crosps sometimes ... fruit or yog mid afternoon and a potatoe food and a protein plus peas or baked beans or a veg. I then have a small choc bar later as my ‘treat’. Help!!
Every time you eat you spike your insulin and thats not what you want . Try and eat fewer meals , all within a time window. After your last meal , drink nothing but water till your next meal. It might be hard at first but trust me it gets easier and you will feel much better. And watching these type of videos helps a lot.
