An exponent to and exponent is the same as multiplication so first multiply each exponent by -8 to get (x^56/16 y^-8/2)/x^24/16. Dividing exponents is the same as subtraction so do 56/16 - 24/16 to get x^32/16 y^-8/2. You can then simply the fractions to get x^2 y^-4. If you want to get rid of a negative exponent you can move it to the other side of the fraction, since y is in the numerator, move it to the denominator to get x^2 /y^ 4.

You first do x^-7+3/16 (signs are flipped when same base exponents are moved from division to multiplication) which gives you x^-4/16 = x^-1/4
Next you multiply both the x and y exponents with -8 to give you x^2 and y^-4 which can be written as x^2/y^4

the answer is x^2/y^4. First you switch the x^-3/16 back up (because negative powers switch which side of the fraction line they are on) and the x^-7/16 would go down. Some of the x's cancel, because when you divide exponents by each other, you just subtract the powers: 3/16 - 7/16 = -4/16. Since the power over the x is now negative it goes back to the denominator; however, with the -8 power waiting outside, you multiply the powers making it x^-2. Since it is a negative again, you need to switch it back up. The x's are finally done leaving x^2 on top. Now the y's are a lot easier. Y^1/2 times -8 makes it y^-4. Once again, since the exponent is negative, it goes to the bottom (the denominator). So you are left with x^2/y^4. Love your vids Zanny. Hope Solar got some help earlier (I am late to this video).

That math problem is actually pretty easy. The -8 means it is 1/expression. So when looking at the expression, since it is all multiplication and division you can multiply the exponents of each variable by 8. This will give (x^(-7/2)y^4)/x^(-3/2). Since the exponents for the x in the numerator and denominator of the expression are equal in the denominator of their exponents, they can simplified into one single x. Since it is division, the exponents will be subtracted from each other which will look like x^((-7/2) - (-3/2)) = x^((-7/2) + (3/2)) = x^(-4/2) = x^(-2) = 1/x^2. So the final expression amounts to 1/(y^4/x^2) = x^2/y^4.
Edit: I was drunk as fuck when I wrote this and accidentally typed x/2 instead of 1/x^2.

The answer to your friend's maths problem is x^2 / y^4.
First, you simplify the two x terms. Something in the form x^n / x^m = x^(n-m), so the x terms become x^-1/4.
Then I applied the negative of the outside power, making the expression 1 / (x^-1/4 * y^1/2).
Then, you apply the outside power by multiplying the x and y's powers, as (x^n)^m = x^(nm). This gives us 1 / (x^-2 * y^4).
The last step is to move the x term to the top of the fraction. You can do this because the power is negative.
Thus, the most simplified form is x^2/y^4.

As a fellow Sekiro lover, I'm happy to see you enjoy this game as much as I did. Such a satisfying combat system that actually holds a candle to Sekiro. You can in fact deflect any attack that isn't a critical attack with the green flash, or the ultimates with the red flash used by the bosses. So yes, you can deflect even The Hanged Queen.
My only problem is I want there to be more. Speaking of which, if you do the side quests, each zone has another unique boss fight.
I feel like 2:25 is an actual conversation in medieval times and when he says "get you patched up" the doctor points and pokes at the blisters a little bit and quickly realises "and she's dead."

Hey Zanny so it turns out there’s multiple endings in the game and you got the basic one, you need to do all the side quests to get the true ending instead of immediately going from Grey Armor to the final memory

X and Y are multiplied together so when two indices are multiplied they are actually added together (-7/16 + 1/2) then you subtract the indices at the bottom since it is divided [(-7/16 + 1/2) - (-3/16)] when you multiply the indices outside the brackets you just multiply them together.
Odur was really one of the most unique boss fights ive ever experienced. he's so fun to fight, and his theme music is the greatest theme out of any boss fight in gaming

Hey Zanny, hey Solarvoid4, if you're reading this, I don't know if the problem at the end of the video was solved, but here's my explanation. Hope it's helpful :)
All you need to solve the problem is basic exponent rules. We have (x^(-7/16)*y^(1/2))/x^(-3/16)^-8. Since the fraction part has the like term x in both the numerator and the denominator, we can simplify the x terms. When dividing like terms with different exponents we follow this rule: x^a / x^b = x^(a-b). Here we have x^(-7/16) / x^(-3/16). The two exponents have the same denominator, which makes life easier. As per the rule, the simplified version would be x^((-7-(-3))/16) = x^(-4/16). That gets rid of the denominator! We are left with (x^(-4/16) * y^(1/2))^-8. The rule that applies here is: (x^a * y^b)^c = x^ac * y^bc. So, we have x^((-4/16)*-8) * y^((1/2)*-8) = x^(-4*-8)/16 * y^(1*-8)/2 = x^(32/16)*y^(-8/2). We can simplify the x term to x^2 and the y term to y^-4. Since the problem demands the most simplified version, standard practice is to rid the final ver of negative exponents if possible. Here, it's easy, as y^-4 = 1/y^4. So we have: x^2 * 1/y^4 = x^2 / y^4. Almost done! Depending on what exactly is required, you could either leave it at that or take power 2 out of the fraction since (x/y)^a = x^a / y^a. We can reverse this and notice that power 2 is common to both exponents. (x/y^2)^2 is the most simplified version you could arrive at. Hope this helps!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PLAGUE DOCTORS! At least the look and the idea of helping people as a plague doctor. THEY LOOKS SOOO FUCKING COOL! Which is why in bloodborne, I made a plague doctor outfit, consisting of gascoignes garb, eileens crow mask, black surgical gloves, idk what leggings I chose but I’m pretty sure it was black. And the weapon was the threaded cane because irl plague doctors used a cane to examine their patients so they don’t have to get close to them or touch them. It was a VERY FUN BUILD!

So for Solar’s math problem, firstly you’ll simplify everything in between the brackets. The general rule is X^2/X = X^2-1.
What you’ll do is (-7/16) - (-3/16) = (-7/16) + (3/16) = -4/16. That’s the exponent for X. Then you multiply (-4/16) with (-8) and do the same thing with the (1/2) from the Y. Then make sure that you remove the “-“ in the exponents then you’re all finished up

I never knew Zanny had a raging hard on for Plague Doctor, since he played this game and then started asking the crew if they liked plague doctors as well.
Personally, I love their aesthetics, costume and how you can wear a bowler hat & look balling *while treating Plague victims.*
This is a great game, I bought it on release and its cool to see you play it too. I haven't gotten to far into it but I wish they had plague doctor drip for some customization(cause all good games got fashion).

Long way to do it involves dividing the inside statement by itself 8 times, then adding and canceling out the divisiors as much as possible. I don't know if that actually makes it simpler, but it's a way to manipulate the equation.
You might also be able to cancel out the Xs and get ×^-4/16.
Alternatively, you can bring the lower X above the line, turning it to ×X^3/16, and work from there.
I'll get back to you in a while if i can get some writing going on. Might consult with my mom, as she's qualified as a maths teacher and thus might be able to remember the algebra better.
So, someone else in the comments (Hqlcyon) already did it quicker and simplier than I, so i won't be doing anything more. I also got stuck on bringing in the -8 exponent, but as it turns out all you need do is multiply it into the internal powers, a very neat and pretty method indeed.

x^2 y^-4 is the answer i believe
1. any number to the power of a negative number, is the reciprocal of the positive power. meaning x^-7/16 can be written as 1/x^7/16 and the opposite for 1/x^-3/16 which can just be written as x^3/16
2. it can now be written out as ((x^3/16 y^1/2)/x^7/16)^-8
3. we now look at the x section the top x^3/16 can be fully cancelled out. because the bottom can divide it. you can subtract 3/16 from 4/16 in the bottom numbers power because of the cancelling of the top x. this leaves us with (y^1/2 / x^4/16)^-8
4. we could also write that as (y^1/2 x^-4/16)^-8
5. using the law of indices, (a^b)^c = a^bc we multiply the indices of both x and y by -8. leaving us with x^2 y^-4

The negative exponent can be made positive by flipping it from numerator and denominator and vice versa. Take the numerator exponent value for x on the inside and subtract the denominators x value. These two steps can happen in either order. Do not cancel the y term at all. The -8 exponent on the outside can be distributed. Exponent to an exponent are multiplied together so you should end up getting at the end (x^2/y^4)
