Once I reached Champion Gundyr, that was basically all the bosses I fought afterwards. DS3's bosses are some of Fromsoft's best and my personal favorite.
@@leithaziz2716 Literally anything not called Wolnir or the Greatwood are fantastic. And even Wolnir and the Greatwood are fine. I never dislike fighting them. Everything else is good to literally game defining. Vordt, Abyss Watchers, Pontiff Sulyvahn, Dragonslayer Armour, Demon Prince (best duo fight in gaming), Yhorm, Lothric & Lorian, Soul of Cinder, Friede, Nameless King, Midir, Dancer of the Boreal Valley, and even though it's blasphemy, I personally LOVE the Gravetender & Greatwolf fight. That wolf with its music is one of the best fights in Soulsborne for me.

I'm not trying to take anything away from him, but he was using sellsword twinblades. Those things are broken. But still, fair play to him, he played well.

bro I'll be honest seeing him first try midir pissed me off not in a angry way but in a sad way (because I fined midir to be a very challenging boss)
Fun Fact it took Zanny more attempts to beat the first Lothric Knight then to beat most of the bosses in the game including Midir, Soul of Cinder, Demon Prince, Vordt, Gundyr, and more.

Zanny, you probably won't read this, but as a dude with 2.2k hours on this game, this was seriously a treat to watch. This is my favorite along with Elden Ring as well, and for exactly the same reasons. Also, you did seriously good in that Midir fight. You completely figured him out. I've seen way too many people unwilling to adapt to the rhythm of his fight. Nicely done!
He did really well though he did have an advantage over people who played ds3 before elden ring because the dragons from elden ring have a lot of shared moves with midir

@@AJellieDonut Of course. Playing Soulsbornes in general makes the next way easier. I heard Bloodborne was super tough, but I went into it after already putting 2.2k hours into DS3, and I beat almost every boss first try. Only ones I died to were Shadows of Yharnam (five times), Gascoigne (three times), Laurence (twice) and Orphan of Kos once, because I went in blind and had the sheer bad luck of standing on Kos' corpse when he started screaming. I didn't know what it did. I had 14 vials left at full health while he was 30%, but just got one shot. Felt unfair as fuck. After that, I beat him easily. This is just Soulsborne experience. It's not cheating, and I've still seen people with thousands of hours struggle to figure out that staying in front of Midir is the way. Zanny did it after seeing his downward firebreath once. DOWNLOADED.
Ok, here is a theory:
Zanny did actually beat Lawrence, thus his soul was freed and he could be reincarnated into Dark Souls Lawrence to get redemption from Zanny for all these runbacks and shitty bos fight. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

I feel so validated, dark souls 3 was my first from soft game and it’s always been my favourite in the series. Zanny rating it on par with Elden ring gives it the recognition it deserves!
Its better than elden ring. On my list its third after sekiro and bloodborne.
Also very easy to swap between gameplay wise as they’re very similar.
The Slave Knight Gael fight is my favourite in the entire series along with the fact that his boss arena is the entire area you fight him in

Zanny really brings out his inner psychotic Homelander persona when he's downloaded the moveset of difficult bosses & he just puts them in the ground whilst shouting *"I am better. I AM BETTER!".* 😂😂😂
I really must hand it to Fromsoft for knowing how to end on a high note. They didn't give in to the temptation to drag the IP on to milk more money out of it. Instead, they wrapped it up with one of the best boss fights ever, amazing combat, amazing atmosphere, amazing visuals, and amazing storytelling.

The gauntlet run before Gundyr Champion was brutal 😅

Boss runs in DS3 aren't too bad in comparison to what came before, but there some notable standouts like the Twin Princes elevator and getting past the enemies on the way to Oceiros
@@leithaziz2716 oceiros is easy to get to, there's a shortcut elevator into the garden and everything else is easy to run past.
Honestly, the boss runs are probably the most underrated aspect of the Souls series. Those are the ones that make these sections memorable, add to the difficulty and raise your stress levels.
A lot of people don't like them of course. And all of those people are wrong lmao

Seeing you beat Midir on your first try made me die a little inside
ngl, some of the supposedly 'harder' bosses were the easiest fights I've had in DS3, i had more trouble with what the community counts as 'weaker' bosses. I don't get the community finding Midir difficult though, literally just swing at his head and you win. He's practically designed to be fought head on.
@@DankaDoctor185 same, I beat the nameless king on my 8th try and he took the most attempts out of all the bosses for me in the base game. I beat a good number on my first try including champion gundyr. But Midir for some reason just kicked my ass, I was up to like 20 attempts then I had to take a break. I still haven’t gone back to beat him

I beat Dark Souls 3 a week ago and I have to say that ive been having tons of fun. It was my first Souls game and I got it thanks to Zanny, watching him play Souls inspired me to do the same. I will definetely continue to play more Souls games in the future which is kinda cool considering that Laurence´s journey has ended and now mine is beginning.
I also want to take the time to thank Zanny for all the good memories over the years. I first started watching him back when he was uploading Jedi Fallen Order videos and i have never stopped watching since. Your content is amazing Zanny and thank you again for bringing so much joy to my life!
Watching him beat Midir and Demon Prince first try makes me think that Zanny is the best Dark Souls player ever

Those are both easy. NK is the shit :') I died 167 times on NK on my first darksouls 3 Playthrough ( which was my first soulsborn ). I first tried Pontif Gael and Midir. Demon princes was 2nd try. But I just can't fuck with Oceirus and NK. They fuck me up everytime

To this day, Nameless King is my absolute favourite boss in all the Soulsborne+ games. I get chills listening to the music, and I must have died like 50 times to him my first playthrough, and I vividly remember that when I finally beat him I screamed with such a burning intensity that I legit almost blacked out because I got so dizzy. My dad actually went up to my room to check if I was okay lmao

I think NK is the coolest as a character in the lore and Gael has the best fight. in terms of coolness they are just about equal because I love entire storm/lightning theme but Gael's cape and crossbow and his super weird movements are also epic. plus I love Gael not as a character but because he represents all of humanity and our struggle so he and SoC are the personifications of the two sides of DS in general. NK is just a real Chad and a cool dude
I beat Gael relatively easily but it was really intense. NK took me like 15 tries
Gael is my favorite boss in all of souls, so glad you had so much fun with Ds3 love the content

Ds3 was peak boas fights design from champion gundyr and onwards. The visuals, the tight hit boxes, items management and builds variations.

Dark Souls 3 is a game I started to appreciate more and more as I kept playing it. By now, it's become my favorite Souls game. The boss quality and music is a big highlight in that aspect, as they're some of my favorite in general. Hope you had fun with the playthrough.

@@theonlyzanny so zanny i've seen someone mention that he was eagerly waiting for you toi play jedi survivor, all i'm gonna say is if your pc/console isn't great you're going to have a bad experience maybe consider buying the game after the patch release. right now the game is beautiful but it's unpolished for old devices and console. you can play the game but you won't have great fps.

Nice run man! Friedes scythe also deals magic damage iirc. So the small blade hit and ice damage scale off INT I’m pretty sure. But I’d say the biggest thing is the frost proc from the R2 WA.
Also I’m super impressed you beat demon prince and Midir first try. You actually looked like you knew what you were doing beforehand haha. Most people first time around go for the hands and feet which is not what you want to do. Fucks up the camera bad and damage is low.

this is the best game in the series imo, i think the only quip i had with it was that the DLC bosses in high NG+ have so much hp that it becomes more of a chore.

Also I can't get over that headless in the swamp just letting him take the item without aggroing, probably the funniest shit I've seen in a dark souls game.
I also found nameless harder than midir. For some reason it clicked right away with midir for me how to get hits in on his head over and over. took him on my like 4th try and only used 1 estus flask in that run

for most games the elite controller with the back paddles isn't a game changer, but it truly is for dark souls. running without the awkward hand is a blessing lol

Zanny, our paths have been much the same. I, too, was introduced to Elden Ring first, and the Sekiro, Bloodborne, DS1, DS2, and just a couple of days ago, on December 28th of 2023, I beat Dark Souls 3. But Dark Souls 2 is wrongly accused of being the worst, but it is not above or equal to either other Dark Souls. It is in a league of its own, just like DS1 and DS3. But the only reason I ever picked up Elden Ring was because of you, Zanny. You made it look fun and worthwhile, so thank you.
