Melanie is a very cool but different artist. Her albums tell a story. Crybaby is a childhood, k-12 is a school and growing up stage, and portals is the afterlife. Her K-12 album actually has a movie/musical for the whole album which is super cool! its about a hour and a half long but its a amazing movie, it really connects all of the albums.

so like other people have prob told you Melanie has a character called CryBaby and shes had this same character all through out her albums, this video is old and the music video you watched is much newer, I would like to tell you that this video is during her CryBaby era, she has a much more creepy nostalgic doll like feeling, there's a lot of lore exposed during that era but its worth it, K-12 talks about Crybaby's and her own school life from pre-k and 12th, this era takes on much more softer, yet creepy, baby doll-middle/preschool and worth the watch!, at the end of the k-12 film (one massive music video for k-12) Cry Baby evolves into this new life form (not wanting to say how for spoliers) and so PORTALS is formed, this is her most expressive and most experimental album shes had all her life, talks about more of her own life and experiences and plus takes a whimsical, scary, fairy like take!

You should definitely watch her movie “K-12” after getting into her second album called K-12.
