Alternatively a paladin for frontman frontline, Oath of Glory or Crown. Bass is Cleric Tiefling cos cool, Knowledge for song writing, or Light for special FX, pyro, laser, fog cloud, dry ice. One thing I like to do is cast a charm spell on the barbarian like Suggestion making the barbarian immune to charm spells because they are already charmed. With some role playing the barbarian eventually got proficiency in wisdom saving throws as a result of constantly making wisdom saves against my charm spells.

I'd suggest snagging Raulothim's Psychic Lance. It's a 4th level, single target damaging spell that has the extra effect of Incapaciting an enemy for One Turn. It preys on Intelligence Saves which makes it pretty decent (Dragons Worst Save is Intelligence like most creatures). Great way to chew through Legendary Resistance, Deal Damage, and pin down Bigger Scary Beasties.

I once made an Atificer/rogue mix. 15 Artificer (Armorer), 5 Rogue (Soul Knife) combo. Roughly speaking, he pumped out a respectable damage number, equivalent to a similarly leveled rogue, but also did... a couple other things too. Casting spells is a given, but he also flew, shot laser beams from his chest, and grappled demigods to submission. I'm talking about a +(21+d8)x2 with advantage against the enemy's disadvantage (hex) opposed roll. And an AC of 23. And no disadvantage to sneaking in heavy armor. And lets not forget an attack range of 300 ft with no drawbacks and oodles of bonuses to important saving throws.
Not an overpowered build by any means, but certainly the best one I've ever made to this day because of just how fun it was to make. I even have the entire build made level by level, without any reliance on equipment or potions I might find on my journey. I made a build I could bring into any game as long as they allowed variant human and multi-classing. I even made in such a way that every level gave me something significant and helpful.
Now I just need a game to play it........... The struggle is real :D

@@OffbeatOutlaw true that. Also, I had an idea for a future video: a never-miss powerbuild. Basically, you make a build that will never miss an attack roll. I’d think you would start with 11 levels of rogue for reliable talent, guaranteeing a minimum roll of 21 with a +5 attacking ability score modifier. (Minimum roll 10+6 from PB+5 from str or Dex). Throw in three levels of devotion Paladin, and you get to add your charisma modifier to attack rolls for 10 rounds using your channel divinity. Now, you have a +26 to attack rolls. From there, spend your remaining six levels on bladesinger Wizard to get the bladesinger extra attack and Booming blade to boost your damage output.

I was a rune knight so I used giants might to become large then an ally cast enlarge so I was huge . My weapon of choice was the great axe, we were level five. we entered the room I rolled the lowest in the intiative, we had notice that the sword of the large gollem was cracked. We all had turns to attack then came my turn, i roll my first attack a crit then I roll damage, max damage. Then my second attack also a crit strangly the same thing happened. I then action surged and got another crit not max damage. Then a normal attack ( I was using great weapon master as well). I dealt 225 damage in a single turn at level five. This turn in total took enough time for a player to go to the bathroom and back. I'm not done next turn since I was huge I bowled the large gollem aganist all the other gollems and guess what nat 20( a cannon ball deals 5d10) cannon balls are a lot smaller then this creature instantly finishing the encounter. all has a none multi-class rune knight

I've always dreamt of making a strong fire mage of some sort, but I never seem to get the right amount of OOMF, since my build only goes up to 120 consistent damage, 106 on low, and 140+ on max. However, it can only do this for one turn. I tried a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer Metallic Dragon Born. I leveled 13 into Sorcerer, 5 in wizard, and 2 in fighter. I do have Quickened Meta-Magic, but aside from choosing a variant human I have no clue how to build higher.

Hey offbeat outlaw! I am a newer player to DnD (only been in 1 short campaign) and have been loving your videos, not that I fully understand all of what is being said haha. This build looks like a lot of fun and sounds right up my alley in terms of build; very disruptive.
Is this a build you would recommend for a newer player? Also how does Simulacrum work? I've read the description a few times and If I'm understanding correctly, you can use your Simulacrum to be able to do whatever you can do during your turn so you effectively can be doing double the actions per turn? How does your simulacrum allow you to double up on Portent rolls?
Also, is there somewhere i can go to ask questions like this? I wouldn't want to bother you with long winded comments such as this haha.
Thank you for your time! Keep up the good work!

My discord is a great place to ask these questions! We have a lively community with a ton of information at our disposal.
This build is a great starting build as it’s just a 2 level dip into wizard but mostly a bard. Lots of fun roleplay material but with some gimics to make it play differently overall.
The simulacrum is just another version of you, as a result it has all of your class features, spells etc that you have upon making the simulacrum. This includes your portents.
A simulacrum is effectively just another creature in the combat so yes you can use it to simply copy what you just did, you can also use it to do other stuff though as it obeys your command. Hope this all helps, welcome to the community!

I just now realized simulacrum leads to more portent rolls... Can someone explain how this spell is not 9th level please.

it has high costs & prep time, its usually done with the 9th lvl wish

@@paulpicot4285 not really an issue for use with class features, because you can just keep the same simulacrum and it can keep getting them back, with only the initial cost.

You and your simulacrum cannot apply two uses of sickening radiance at once... or any other spell as spell effects are just one of the things in the game that cannot stack. Nice idea though, points for trying.

I got to be honest here, this video somewhat rubbed me the wrong way, I know you don't necessarily mean it, but there was a bit too much focus on "making the dungeon master's life hell", not something I like to see

Legendary resistances can go a long way, don’t forget your counter spells and dispel magic. A banishment can also be a good way to remove the bard from the fight
