It didn't end well either time :D Pirates / Navy Officers would have actually been drinking "grog" by the pint, which was watered down Rum, sometimes with added lime and sugar syrup, intended to keep them hydrated more, while rationing the alcohol. That's how I remember it anyway when I was a pirate in the 1700's

That sword wielded by the pirate in the picture. It’s a type of sword called a “rapier”. They are designed to maximize thrusting lethality. But unlike a smallsword, rapiers have sharpened edges. This lets them cut, although not as well as a sword meant for that purpose. One good thrust with a rapier, and unless you’re fighting Wolverine or Deadpool the enemy is done for.

I really love the riff from like 39 seconds to 57 seconds. You could make an incredible song if you flesh that out just a bit. It's really amazing.
