I was excited to see a new an Alestorm song. I was even more intriqued when I saw the inclusion of a hurdy gurdy player. I was ecstatic when she began to sing.
I was listening for the first time while driving. That chorus pumped me up so much, I'm surprised I didn't get a speeding ticket. That and i legit screamed when the solo hit as well.
Patty sounds incredible! I was expecting just a verse or harmonizing but she totally blew me away with the chorus! Please keep that lovely woman in the band!
This is legitimate one of Alestorm's best songs, in the top 5. While still a fantasy song it's serious and that guitar solo has so much soul and emotion poured out in it. Been playing this one on repeat since release. I hope this is the direction of the next album!

From a musical expertise perspective this is one of if not Alestorm's best ever song. Outstanding vocals accompanied by a perfect blend of Heavy Metal and Folk instruments.
Alright, I stumbled across this song at complete random, coming from another Napalm video, and HOLY SMOKES, I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! This song is EPIC!!! I'm kind of sad I didn't see your Winnipeg tour date until today. Seriously, this song kicks ass!
I like this allot, Patty's singing and her hurdy gurdy adds allot of dynamic to the song. Based on this and her earlier guest appearances, I actually wish she could join the band fulltime :)
@@ROFLBOB24 well, I thought it already went really downhill with the "seventh rum"-album. It really felt tired, stale, and already done and like a boring rehash from "crystal coconut". It really felt unoriginal. Some will argue that crystal coconut was already a big deviation from previous album, being much more of "party" album, and tortuga was definitely a song that split the fanbase. I hated tortuga at first, but kind of grew to like it. Same with the album overall. It grew on me, and I accepted the even more cheesy (they have always been fun and cheesy) direction the band took. But IMO, it didn't last all the way to the next album. Pattys guest appearance on crystal coconut was one of the highlight of that album, and zombies ate my pirate ship was one of the top songs, so I guess that is why I in favor of her becoming a full time member (though realistically I don't think that would happen). But, with that said, I have always been a fan of folk metal and symphonic metal. So I guess I am open to old odd instruments in metal.
@@Lovelime_ Personally felt like Crystal Coconut was terrible, and Seventh Rum was much better and a return to form. No Grave But The Sea is the golden standard, they haven't quite matched it, but Seventh Rum was close enough.

I somehow feel like the cover of "hangover" was the starting point. First time I heard hangover I was like "what the hell is this shit, it's sound like a poppy dance song" and not realising what song it was a cover of. But after hearing it a few times more and realizing what song it was, it also grew om me, and I could not ignore the fact that it is catchy and that the lyrics and thematics of the song works well. Anyway, I still do understand that many fans hate crystal coconut. Like I said, I didn't like it at first either. But somehow I have kind of accepted that Alestorm can be the band to fill the void of catchy pirate party metal, that you listen to while drinking beer and having a good time. There is enough other bands that fills the agressive, depressed, heavy or serious needs. But I respect your opinion.
Please, for the love of all things pirate, PLEASE make Patty a permanent member of the band. This is absolutely killer, and is definitely more than the sum of its performers. The composition and delivery here easily pushes you into the top tier of metal bands, up alongside Nightwish and Epica.
