My favourite from CSNY. I'm only 34 years old, but grew up to my dad spinning songs for beginners on repeat. So pleased to have been able to see graham nash with my dad this summer in Utrecht in the wonderful Tivoli. What a beautiful gig - as a guitarist, it's a great pleasure to have the added bonus of shane fontayne on six strings, what a great player
Am 28 and I thought I have wasted a lot of time..but this legend proves me that Age is just a number, this man inspires me to take out my guitar and write the songs I always wanted to. Thank you Graham Nash.
I realize this is 5 years old but it is new to me. I'm a life long musician and more recent also a song writer. I was blown away by Myself At Last. Wow! Beautiful chord changes and great meaningful lyrics. More people need to hear it.
Apr 2019 I grew up listening to MTV Unplugged. I am not taking anything away from MTV Unplugged. BUT NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert is better. More natural; more sublime. Peace, love and RNR!
Graham Nash is one of the best musicians alive and one of the best ever. I love his Album "This Path Tonight" so much especially the beautiful Song "Myself at Last".
SHANE FONTAYNE I still have a crush on you. Fabulous accompanist here and on so so many Kennedy Center Awards Guitarist on that Stage. XO Thank You, Graham Nash for everything ... and to NPR Tiny Desk Concerts (all) .
I find that I can only take this wonderful broadcast in short takes, there is so much feeling and pure musicianship there, Thank you, Graham from the Hollies to CSN&Y to your solo path to the moon!
Sittin' here, stupid grin, just loving this. Just freaking amazing. I wanna be Graham when I grow up. What a man, voice, activist, humanist, singer......holy shit.
One of the things I love about watching great musicians are the gorgeous instruments they play. Especially acoustic guitars. Crosby, Nash, Richard Thompson, the fine guitars they play make me happy.
Bus Stop takes me back to being in Junior High in Kansas City, MO in the late sixties and very early seventies.Sleeping in a pup tent in the backyard under a huge black walnut tree. I had a little transistor radio I got from Sunday School attendance, and in the dark of night I could pull in radio stations from New Orleans, Chicago, San Antonio. Hearing these sixties tunes and fifties doo wap and such.
Graham Nash what a legend. I'd also like to show some respect to Shane Fontayne, he's toured with so many legendary artists such as Graham and Bruce Springsteen and being the guitarist for The Kennedy Center Honors and he's also a great singer and songwriter himself!!
my father is the spitting image of Graham Nash in the younger days - everything even the hair couldn't be more proud .. Graham Nash has still got it the talent the voice and everything..
Been listening to Graham for over 50 years and it is still like day 1, I am always grateful to him for solving my perplexing problems, and doing it with some of the best music at that. I will be Graham's brother forever,we do speak the very language of the heavens. Thank you bro for all you have done for the world and me
Saw those two perform live at "Burg Herzberg" Festival this year. It was the last day and after 4 incredibly hot days the rain started falling in the middle of their performance. It had something very pure to it. Amazing crowd, amazing musicians.
Wonderful to hear these two great musicians....Graham Nash is still hitting the notes with a voice that has been so clear, pristine, natural and a Gift to humanity....Cool! Thank you.
I'm so excited to have found this tiny desk. l discovered Grahan Nash thanks to The Head and the Heart's cover "our house" and now l cannot stop hearing them❤️love from Peru
Been a Nash fan since I first heard The Hollies way back in mid-60s. followed his career through CSN and beyond. What a treat then to come across this Tiny Desk Concert with Graham, an acoustic guitar and a second guitar and voice. Very nice. When I heard the first strains of Bus Stop I was hooked for the duration of the video. Loved it all... Glen Parker Avondale, N.S.,Canada
That second guitar is Shane Fontayne, who slayed it when he played the incredible solo in Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors. It's on you tube, and it's unforgettable. 🎶💙🎶
It’s been raining in the North of England for a while so we get called a rainy city here in Manchester.Bus stops and umbrellas are useful connections if sharing is your thing. The Hollies we part of our thing in the 60/70’s….so imagine a surprise to find a transforming Graham Nash appear in a close harmony group along with two Americans .Hooked interest immediately and part of my thing since then.Thank you ,grateful.
+Rich B Because producers today think that's the way it has to be done. That's what they were told and they have the technology and by golly they're gonna use it.
Rich B Well, studios and multitracks are good. the trick is to put these guys in a studio with the multitracks rolling away, and have them play live right there. maybe throw some backing vocals in later? bass? keys? you get the point. But what really kills the music is stuff like autotune, cut and paste, dynamic range compression (an important tool, but much overused, especially on masters). I feel like this is how you make the best, most pure music. a mix of good gear and Recording techniques, and excellent musicians. forget technology.
kyle saloka I disagree.. sure you might as well do it properly if your multitracking. I would love to hear more musicians being captured live.. if you need a harmony, get another vocalist in etc.
@@jimmy5634 Put a chunk of the blame on Phil Spector. He started doing all that layering and "sound on sound" noise in the early sixties. It may have worked ok on some of the girl group records, but muddied lots of other music badly. Imltho.
This version of Bus Stop is by far the best I have heard, by far. including the original. There's just something about the Crosby and Nash style vocals (dare I say it) that gives it a rawness.
With or without the Hollies or CSN, what an incredible performer. Amazing what two talented singer/guitarist can do all by themselves. Thank you Graham.
'oly cow! His voice at 74 is still amazing, this explains why I got hooked on CSNY music since the very firest time that I heard them...and he was much younger!
The British are coming, the British are coming - and are most welcomed this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brought us back our Blues and took R&R to the next level!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This speaks directly into my heart, especially Myself At Last. Thank you Graham Nash for your lifelong commitment to the spirit, the sound, the voice and the truth.
Graham is still a legend, have the Hollies and CSN on my playlists all of the time, I grew up with this music and it has stayed with me for over fifty years, that's the test of good music, it never grows old and even the performers still enjoy it, long live Graham, I hardly need say long live your music, I wouldn't bet against it still being loved in another ten generations, it's a beautiful gift you gave us all and you keep on giving, well done NPR, but please keep the ad's between the songs, not cut in to them, my only criticism Best regards Jon
I feel blessed to have these people singing on my radio during my teens. Because of them I became a musician in my free time and had to learn to speak English in order to understand and sing the songs they sang.
This is a song I loved and actually believed in love forever, until I found out it isn't. Great sound, think I was about 12 when this song came out. Nash is a wonderful singer.. memories, thank you.
Like Harrison in the Beatles this guy never got the recognition he really deserves, why did CSN or The Hollies leap out of the radio and grab you, his voice was their secret weapon.I'm not knocking the incredible Steve Stills or Dave Crosby but without Nash it would have lacked the magic.
+SuperStig23 Alan Clarke did most of the lead vocals. He was truly the "voice' of the Hollies. Graham did some of them but he mostly performed the high harmonyies.
A legend can play a new song between 50 year old classics and not miss a beat. Awesome
Mr. Nash.....simply put....I think you are the best ! Thank you for all the years and the wonderful music !
Graham is truly a gift for us, thank you very much

28? You mean 28 years old? Wow, yeah, you're old.
I'm 63.
I just heard Graham Nash in concert this past weekend. It was excellent. 50 years on and he still is making beautiful music. We are very fortunate.
"Myself at Last" had me weeping tears of beautiful anguish. Masterful music from these two musicians. Wonderful.

Simple but not…straight forward beautiful melody…miss you 1960’s…especially the Brits!
Well said!
It is so refreshing to hear an artist perform a 50 year old hit like it was a new release. Thank you Graham.
Bus Stop, 50 years old. Still sounds as fresh as when I first heard it.
Written by Graham Gouldman of 10CC and Wax fame. With his dad. When he was still a teenager.
But while you're waiting at the bus stop, don't stand so close to me. It's a great song, tho.
Sittin' here, stupid grin, just loving this. Just freaking amazing. I wanna be Graham when I grow up. What a man, voice, activist, humanist, singer......holy shit.
He has the same energy & convictions for the past 40 years!!

Fabulous songwriter. Been following for over 40 years. The soundtracks of my life.
Thanks for the music!
Great songwriters are continually inspired ... and continue to inspire us as songwriters.
I'm here in 2019 too. I'm wearing an identical flannel shirt as Graham. That last song is a winner. I wish CSN would get together one more time.

Shane Fontayne played "Stairway to Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors a few years ago. His solo was magnificent! 🎶💙☺🎶
What i like about tiny desk is that brings artists down to earth between us and their music familiarise better. Very clever idea whoever create it.
Just the artists, their music, and our eyes and ears. 💙🎶☺

Why won't they make recordings just like this. Forget about the studio and the multi tracks. This is as good as music gets

I have so much love and respect for this talented man.
Hello pretty 💝
"Myself at Last" - what a song!! Man, he's still got it!

The British are coming, the British are coming - and are most welcomed this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brought us back our Blues and took R&R to the next level!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two chaps, two guitars and stories told in song. Simple genius and centuries old. Priceless
Gorgeous harmonies as ever!
The harmony part always fascinates me.
Oh my god........how sweet is this????? Love and Peace
This speaks directly into my heart, especially Myself At Last. Thank you Graham Nash for your lifelong commitment to the spirit, the sound, the voice and the truth.
True natural talent like Nash keeps most of his voice into age. It's a sign of how much they always had in the tank I think.
Its amazing how they come up with that... the arrangement of the words and music in such a way of spirit, manifesting such truths, beautiful songs.
"Everyone I've ever loved has been some kind of test"
Killer line.
Also true...for ALL of us.
Graham Nash is a true gentle-man.

jimmy5634 true. And Graham Gouldman wrote Bus stop and said it was one of his proudest moments. Still, I loved this series and hope to see more.
