The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Rosemary Clooney's magically voice floats atop the percussive Latin accompaniment. That brass - and that voice. Heavenly.

There are no words to express how much I miss the caliber of music from the days of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Sigmund Romberg, etc. ❤️

OMG, my childhood revealed. Rosemary singing like an angel on Sullivan. Nick Clooney was our anchorman in Cincinnati, on tv talking about his young son George. All part of my "family".

Saw a production of "Hey There" in Santa Barbara this past summer, documenting the years that Clooney was institutionalized woven together with her music and her ultimate return to the studio and stage. A two character production and it was very good. I don't know if it's Broadway caliber, but certainly should be done in regional theatres

I’m not sure if you know English but I love how popular she was in Japan. Do you know about alma Cogan? She had a number one in 1960 with Couldn’t Resist Her With Her Pocket Transistor

She's a great singer, but I like the lady from the movie's version better.
