wow I'm amazed! the orchestra duplicated the sound of the original Bali hai and the back ground choir sounded just like in the movie,as for the singer she has a beautiful voice to sing this song, bravo to everyone.
if anybody didn't notice, they ochestrated the musical and the Choir just like in the movie South Pacific back in 1958 compare it on youtube and make a comment.
I think this arrangement is superb, just like the 1958 movie, but with new recording technology so we can hear each part! The choir is as ethereal as music can be, and it gives me goosebumps to hear it! My only complaint would be that, though her tone and pitch control are exceptional, Ms. Criswell’s dynamics were very stuck in the middle. Perhaps it was a failure of audio compression, but I find that the dynamics of the song, from the self-evident “you’ll hear it whisper” to “shine in the streams,” which my intuition tells me needs to be sung in an unbearable crescendo. Ms. Criswell unfortunately did not capture that, though every other aspect of her vocal was excellent.
I haven't heard hera ton but what I have heard, I think maybe this song was on the low side for her, and the fact that the range isn't what she might have sung more often also affected her dynamics
@@mmkvoe6342 this song is pretty clearly an alto song, so I’m unsure why she was the one singing it-let alone in this key-if it’s not within her range :)
I'm proud of this song.🇻🇺 The song is about a mythical island of Bali hai. The name refers to a mystical island, visible on the horizon but not reachable, and was originally inspired by the sight of Ambae island from neighboring Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu, where author James Michener was stationed in World War II.
Jaw dropped , I didn’t expect it to be this amazingly beautiful great , my favorite version

❤❤Yes!! Wonderful!
Breath Taking, absolutely beautiful.
The chorus is HEAVENLY!!!!
Beautiful. Loved the choir and orchestra backing her! Amazing
It doesn't relax me, it devastates me.. How long have I ignored that call in the service of what I thought I had to do...
The ABSOLUTE best rendition of this song since the original.
Brava. Absolutely beautiful arrangement, chorus, and her. Wow.
Superb, best version I've heard anywhere. Ethereal.
the Orchestra copied the theme original as the 1958 South Pacific.
he did it from the original soundtrack of South Pacific 1958 watch it on youtube.
that's because that version is from the movie orchestra version except for singer.
That choir!!!!!! 🌟🎉🌟🎉🌟🎉🌟
They are the Maida Vale singers, who always perform with John Wilson at the Proms
they used that background choir just like in the 1958 South Pacific.

Thanks so much John for saving this music for future Generations. I wonder how much audio manipulation was done on the film soundtrack?

Come to Bali
I'm proud of this song.🇻🇺

Pure magic
Contrabass clarinet on show!
コーラスを聴いて鳥肌が立った。
Better call Saul, im here for
Can barely hear it but she's amazing
John Wilson loves to revive the old musicals and in some cases has to re-write the scores as some of the originals are lost.
I think John Wilson did a great job capturing the original Orchestra music from the 1958 south Pacific,I get goose bumps hearing it.
@@philipbahia2707 Did you know the island of Es Vedra (Canary islands) was used in some shots as the mystical island of Bali Hai
@@stevesculptor1 I never knew that
Levels too low. Crank it up!
Saul Goodman did it better.😂
