Thx for the full install of how it actually goes together. Just got my Mav a couple of weeks ago and after watching another video about it I decided to get one also. Liked and sub👍🏻
Finally got some time to install that BOV. Now that you've had it for awhile have you gotten any check engine light or any negatives? Did you do a retune. Just don't want anything to happen. Never owned a new vehicle before or a turbo. Sorry if I'm being to cautious. Did some research and getting some mixed answers.
@@joestoen8681 The only way you'll get a CEL is if you install it wrong or an oring doesn't stay in its groove when you lower everything down in. That would cause a boost leak and a CEL. It does nothing but vent the unused pressure to atmosphere when the throttle is closed. No tune or need to worry about anything. I just towed a trailer 4.5hrs round trip with a couple ATVs yesterday. Mostly interstate with a little mountain back roads. With my hand made intake and steeda BOV adapter it makes the truck more fun to drive.
I just installed mine it was a pain but less than an hour lol that nut in the back is a pain. The lube did the trick nicely Sounds sweet thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for the video. I forgot to put the top back on over the valve and drove around the block. New something was wrong when I heard all the air blasting out.😂
That's a cool little truck. Not sure why I didn't consider it, but I went with a lightly used ranger. Same thing it's just too quiet. She scoots out of the hole pretty damn good, just needs to breathe a little better to help that top end. Far as blow off sound, I've always run a loud enough intake that you could hear the recirc. Think I'll wait until I get the mishimoto intercooler pipes to see if I want to go recirc or vta
What are some of the drawbacks? Less MPG? I've heard of people installing catch cans for the oil it blows off? I don't fully understand the implications otherwise I'd def pull the trigger.
So with the recirculating system it vents extra pressure into your exhaust system. With this mod Pushing extra turbo boost into atmosphere literally JUST makes a turbo “whoosh” some may argue it’s actually even better for the engine with this mod but in reality the tiny mav turbo doesn’t make enough pressure to damage anything. Hope this helps!
Hi. So I installed mine but when parked, I rev it up and only goes up to 4,000 rpm and I when I release the gas pedal, it doesn’t make it sound. Only when I’m driving and let me foot off the pedal does it make the sound. Do you know why this is?
Letting off the Throttle will release pressure, even it downshifting will do that especially in Eco mode. It's tuned for economy, not necessarily preformance.
E5 size (5mm socket) any tool that can do the ol lefty loosey righty tighty will get rid of the original manufacturer bolts (OEM) and will let you put In and tighten the new longer E5 bolts
Those engines sound so bad don't they. I opened the hold on mine and showed my dad he was like that engine is on its way out. I was like what? Lol. It's brand new. So much clicking and weak sounding but it hauls butt
Dude that is an excellent mod. I am already looking at things I want to do to mine and I don’t even have one!
Thanks! Are you waiting for one you ordered?
@@jlspowersportshobbies4568 dude me too i ordered a 2023 tremor mav and im losing my mind waiting

For some reason the one I bought literally won't make any noise (and yes I plugged it back in) I think mine is some how defective lol

Cool, I’m thinking about maybe getting one for my Maverick truck (XLT Fx4 in Area 51)
Watched another guy on RUclips did this along with steeda bar and some other cool things.
Link? Tag him please.

MrBoom_5.0 has some mav stuff also
will this void the warranty?
Do
These void people warranties

This mod is just to get the wooosh sounds. A catch can is completely different. They basically remove and collect moisture vapor.
I luv it but my wife hates it and makes me stop get out and wash the window cause of the droplets. Were getting divorced anyway!

That will stop any warranty from Ford in the future. Just so everybody knows. Engine modification VOIDS warranty. Ask a Ford dealer !!!!

How are you liking it long term???
@@cabuan I only owned the truck for a month or two. But it was fun while it lasted.
Where can I order this for my 2023 xlt maverick?
Was it blowing off boost while accelerating still?

How long will that 2.0 ecoboost last 100K?
It lasted almost 2000miles for me
@@jlspowersportshobbies4568 Can you get a 2.0t in a 2 wheel drive?

I'm at 14k no issues yet
I bought a E5 from a snap on guy and it was to small. You sure it is a E5 to take the original bolts off?
Yes I just double checked. E5 for the oe bolts.
@@jlspowersportshobbies4568 ended up using a 4m. Weird the e-5 was to small. Gonna have to take it back to SnapOn

Should, same engine
Does it throw any codes yet?
This mod will not cause a DTC

Don't worry it's not the engine making that sound. It's the high pressure fuel system. The pump and injectors is what you hear clicking.
@@jlspowersportshobbies4568 That's good to know I will tell him this, but now he'll say my fuel system is about to go out. Lol
