Remove this screw, that bolt, this other screw, another four bolts, this plastic piece, those five wires. Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh. This guy is a genius. I could no more do this than I could high jump twelve feet. How on Earth does he remember where everything goes? And, it what order???? My hat is off to him and guys like him who can do this kind of work. Great job and excellent video. I'm seriously and totally blown away.

Very impressed with the detail you showed but you remind me of a great musician- they make very difficult music look incredibly easy to play. I'm half-tempted to try this myself but I give myself 20/80 odds of NOT getting stuck somewhere along the way. Anyway, thanks for an EXCELLENT video, bro!

Excellent walk through! For 2017 RX 350 Fsport with Mark Levinson and a 12.3 in screen with NAV, is there a touch screen option (Supporting Android Auto) that replaces the factory screen while preserving all the existing functionalities of Back up cam ,360 cam and so on?

This is amazing and easy to follow. But why did you have to remove the glove box and do you ship to Australia?
After doing many installs after this one, we recommend removing the glove box and then mounting the two boxes behind the plastic panel facing the center console from the passenger footwell area. That ensures the wires and two boxes are not too congested behind the radio. Yes we ship to Australia

Really like this! I have a 2019 Rx 450h with NAV but it does not have carplay. Just wanna ask if the wireless version has come out yet. Honestly, the wire coming out on the side does not look cool.

My car has 360 camera. When you park the car, it will automatically go to 360 camera on screen when you are approaching to wall or front car. If I use apple car play, does still do the same thing. (When it is in car play screen). I don't want to push camera bottom every time I park the car
Yes your 360 camera will work as usual.
Will this stan alone screens, which are basically tablets, resume Spotify app, and continue playing, after turning car off and on again?

I have an F-Sport 12.3" with Mark Levinson is the sound affected at all due to the aux?
The sound will be a little different compared to your bluetooth sound balance, however your EQ controls can make them very similar.
Is it possible to listen to the factory radio (like a baseball game) and receive Google maps directions at the same time?
Yes. But you won’t hear the turn by turn directions

This is a good video, however the 2013-2015 RX with navigation has a different screen that is integrated in the dash - it doesn't sit on top. How does that change the installation of this unit? Thanks!

@@BeatSonicUS I ordered mine a couple of days ago from you (13 RX). Hope you have the install video up soon, as I will need to install myself. I've seen videos on YT about disassembling the Nav screen and Head unit area of the dash of a 10-15 RX but they are by a competitor, so the wiring/connectors are not going to be the same.

question is yrs 3rd party install mines is a 3rd party install from previous owner of car when I bought the car owner connected it up for me. many months ago I disconnected my phone from it as it was peeing me off connecting to apply car play everytime I turned car on to drive it. I reconnected it but for love nor money I can’t get my phone to play sound to the car via the Apple car play. I’ve tried everything I can think of wife connected, Bluetooth connected etc. It also mirrors from my phone to the car but again stood no sound? I have everything paired up. What am I doing wrong? I have a 2012 450h gs
1. Find out what was installed from the previous owner and who installed it. 2. Contact the installer or the manufacturer for troubleshooting

@@BeatSonicUS On some other brands have gathered all the components in one box which is easier to install as well as to firmware update (which will be done via USB dongle) etc where as yours has I guess 3 different components (other than cables) and on your how to upgrade firmware I noticed all the 3 boxes (interface, Carplay and the small one) need to be pulled out in order to upgrade it. Although based what of seen your interface is the most reliable/ stable device I believe, so well done for your great responsiveness, support and quality of products :)
I do not know much about apple car play but my wife uses the Waze app for navigation on her iphone would this put that map up on the dash, Thanks
Correct, this will allow you to display Waze maps on the native Lexus screen and use factory controls

You may route the usb extension cable to your arm rest compartment

It won’t unfortunately. It’s locked onto the factory voice command

Not for 2016+ RX models. New usb cable will need to be routed. You can route it to the arm rest compartment

Question: if iOS version is updated to ios 14+ in the future, will it still work with the CarPlay system or does it need to stay at the current/older iOS versions?

I have a 2014 RX and I can find no one that will install Apple CarPlay! Is there anyplace that you’d recommend I check with? I’m too old and crippled to do this myself.
Unfortunately we have temporarily stopped shipping out the kit for 2014 RX as we found a bug that needs to be fixed. Please check with with us at the end of the year as the issues should be resolved by then

For Android auto with 12.3inch screen, it will work in widescreen mode. Stretching is not noticed on Android Auto.

Is there a way to use Android Auto with the Beat-Sonic kit wirelessly - where AA activates on phone upon BT connection when the Lexus Infotainment system auto-connects, which is what it does with stock system when you turn on the car. I mean, does activating the AA/Carplay features always require plugging into the USB of the Beat-Sonic unit?

I've built computers before, taken apart lots of them and I studied computer science. This vid still scared me straight and wanting a 2020 RX or just use a phone stick... I'm not so sure Lexus didn't send you to upload this...
On a side note, does old RX allow you to listen to your own music from your phone? If they doesn't even allow that then I'm so done with the old RX...

So in over 7 years Lexus has STILL not fixed an easy good way to connect your mobile music to the car? That is sad. I have a Lexus ISF and I have tried 2 solutions using AUX and the sound is just terrible... was really hoping the RX450 had solved this.
