First of all, I am not a professional installer I just wanted to do it myself so I bought the Android car screen for my radio, and you can find it at Amazon, see link below, this is for my Lexus RX350, and it fits 2016 to 2019.
There are other vehicles you can upgrade as well, while keeping the factory functions.
I did not find any videos or great instructions about the installation, so I made a video to help other people, it is not hard, but it does take some time to take things apart and put them together. I installed it by only using a wrench with two extensions small and large with the 10mm socket and a plastic pry or trim removal tool.
By replacing the screen, I kept all the original functions and added all the Android functions such as Android Auto, CarPlay, GPS, Assistant Google and Siri and much more from the android store.
The screen includes 2 USB cables to connect the phone or play media, microphone for phone calls or the assistant, GPS antenna and an external speaker for notifications. I would have liked for the microphone to have double sided tape to be less visible, the one that comes with the screen picks up sound well.
The setup of the screen is also easy, it’s like setting a phone or a tablet, via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi or directly connected if you know how to do them then it is as easy for this too.
Overall, I really like the upgrade, it is fantastic, I do not have to rely on my phone screen, I can see much better on the bigger screen, and I can play videos, music or simply make my car much modern, I am glad I got it.

Finished my upgrading! what a journey! the 2 screws of the Radio is the most challenge for me, i'm 6''1 and it was nightmare for me to bend down and do it! btw mine came with carplay, android 11, the seller even help me with all the setting hidden in this device. again, thanks for your helpful video, instruction was very clear and friendly!
@@David.Pham. Nice I am glad you got it to work and yes those two screws are the most difficult since they are in an angle. please share where you bought your screen, I either need to update mine or just change it, I like Carplay and mine does not do that. Best to you.

Hello and thank you for asking, I also hope you subscribe to my channel. I usually do not touch the screen, only sometimes I have to but going back and fourth you can do with the knob control. When you do want to enter an address then you have to type the address on the screen by touch. Mostly with the knob you can control the screen. Best to you.

hello and thank you for asking, I also hope you subscribe. to answer your question, yes you can either watch a video using video downloaded to your USB drive or if you are mirroring your screen then you can play RUclips, I like using a USB better because using mirror link it lags a little. Thank you for the video, I bought a new unit from Aliexpress and after I connected it I couldn't get my backup camera to show up, I also connected small speaker and I barely can hear it. Should I just disconnect it? Do you know which cable needs to be connected for backup camera to work?
Hello and thank you for asking, I ended up not using the small speaker, I connected my phone to my car for phone calls and sound. And the new version does not come with that speaker anyway see the next video for that. As for the video, it is the one with the yellow RCA cable, make certain you connect that cable. Mine is a 2017 Lexus exactly like yours (doesnt have Android Auto and has the small non-touch screen). I am little confused. I believe we need a separate Android Auto 'Module' as well a separate new screen(Touchscreen). Did you already install the Andriod Auto Module before making this video. If I have to order the whole package Module and the similar bigger touch screen with all the accompanying cable sets, is there any seller offering the complete package kit like that? Do we also have to tell them the trim code? Thanks for your kind guidance

The screen that I installed came with android, so you can switch from factory to the android version. I did not buy anything else other than the screen that it is touchscreen by the way. I bought it on amazon but I do not see it there anymore but you can find the same thing on eBay but I think it is a different brand, ( it is the same manufacturer anyway ) I just saw one around 750 dollars but do your research so you can get the correct one. The installation takes time but it is not that hard, I tried to explain as much as possible to make it easier for someone else since I did not see a video with details when I posted this one. Thank you for this video. Great information. I was going to try and order one but there is no option to pick the color of trim panel for the screen. I asked the seller about the the trim and he said to use the old one. How did you go about ordering yours?

I think the back of the screen is different, perhaps you can order and if the trim is not the same size then return it. I'll check and let you know too, I think I still have the original trim, I'll compare and let you know if I do. Best to you.
You know if you have the same screen size then you'll probably be ok, but if you're changing the size from 8 inch to 10 like I did then it will not fit.
Thanks for the reply. Yes I subscribed. I have the same situation as you , you had a 8 inch screen and went to 12.3. In the video you switched the clips to the different trim panels. I was wondering how choose the trim color when ordering it.
How's the navigation? Does it need to be connected or link to a phone via Bluetooth or USB for it to work?
@@jerrygerena8246 I didn't choose the trim because the color of my vehicle's dash is the same black, but if you're dash is a different color then you need to ask them for that color because you'll need the new trim to cover the new screen. As for the navigation it doesn't need to be connected to anything so I like that but on the other hand it doesn't give you real time traffic as your cell does, so I use it mirroring my cell the most.

Thanks for the video. Do you mind if you put the company's link here. Also what is your overall experience since then? Any issue like disconnection overheating or system crashing ? Also does it support wireless Android Auto as well ?
I bought it from Amazon and the ASIN number is B08DV3Y3HM. Overall I am glad I did the upgrade, the larger screen and being able to use it with my phone with easy connection app. I expected for it to run fast and smooth by itself but it does not. It does not support Android Auto, but the Easycon app is similar and works great, I also like that you can watch movies, youtube, pictures on the screen. hope that helps, and perhaps I'll make an updated video as well.

This looks perfect for my 2018 RX350 but I'm just wondering how does it function after using it for a few months? Is there anything about the unit that is concerning, malfunctioning or creating electrical problems for the car?
I will make a video on my opinion.
For the time being, there are things I wish they can be improved, the internet is not as fast so browsing is not easy. On the other hand, it mirrors the phone so it's great to drive with maps on it, Waze, music and even videos. The original camera, phone calls and music work the same as well as the steering wheel buttons. I really like the bigger screen, Hope that helps.

Hello, and thank you for asking. Yes, it is bright the new screen (see the second video) is bright that you can see it during the day and at night you can set up to dim cool or warm so it's not so bright. Best to you
I drive a LEXUS RX 450h built in 2016. Your video explanation is very good. I bought the Navi Radio from Navirider. Can I use the original microphone, camera and GPS?

It's work. I am very happy buy Navi Radio. Old the new working in same time. So that I have all functions.
Can you share link of a review of this product? Is adding the cheap speaker necessary on the back of the screen? Was there a software update allowing apple CarPlay to work natively? Thanks for the very helpful install video.
Hello, first let me thank you for asking and subscribing to my channel, I do not have a review of the screen yet, and the small speaker is not necessary if you can use the bluetooth of your Lexus like I have. And I did ask the manufacturer about an update and they told me there was none, but another person in the comments said they got their CarPlay to work, they did not share as to how. I do like the upgrade so I will do a video, I just been busy. Best to you.

@@bizzyguju The small speaker is for the notifications, gps and calls but I do not use it since I use the vehicle speakers, I guess if you want the gps on it while playing music on the speakers that would work, but I do not use it at all, I do not even use the mic since I use the mic from my Lexus for calls

I have a 2017 Lexus RX 350 On the Mekede Tech website it says "for factory 12.3 inch screen, it is need to retain the factory screen then the Android screen can work, that means you have to keep 2 screens on car together." That doesn't make sense.
How could you have both screens on your ?
Hello and thank you for asking, I hope you also subscribe. The Mekede screen replaces the smaller screen as you see on my video. I actually sold the smaller screen because I do not have use for it. I use this Mekede mostly with the CarbLink app on my Android phone to mirror my screen. Someone did comment that the Apple Car app works but I have an Android and the Android Auto does not work. Perhaps the newer version does work. Best to you.
I don't think you understand my question. The website states "YOU MUSt KEEP 2 Screens together..." What does that mean??? Here is what is says "Note: you will be need to retain the OEM screen if it is a 12.3 then our Android screen can work, that means you will be need to keep 2 screens together. Please do not order if you can not accept this , thank you" I would thank I would replace my 12.3 screen with the Mekede Screen. Please advise. @@ReviewingEverything
Oh, I think it is translated wrong, you will keep both the factory settings that come with the 8inch screen, and you will add the android functions of the 12 inch screen, you can switch between both of them, not the screens but the settings. if you press the menu button for a few seconds the factory settings that you see on the 8 inch screen now will come up on the new screen, if you press the menu button again for a few seconds then it switches to the android functions, no longer with the factory settings. I hope that is a bit clear. I hope I have some time to make a video on how it works. I basically use it for the larger screen and to mirror but when making the calls It uses my factory mic and speakers. @@rogerrobb9767
What your saying is.... you don't literally keep the physical screen you just removed, but you keep the function of the OE screen and can change from the old screen menu to the new screen menu. @@ReviewingEverything

Hi, if you do not plug in mic and speaker, will the car mic and speaker still work or you need to disable one of the other? and what about the usb they send? do you have to charge with the screen usb or our car usb works 2?
Hello and thank you for asking and I hope you subscribed to my channel. If you don't plug in the mic and the speaker, the vehicle's mic and speakers still work, and better. The USB charges but slowly. And the charger from the car still works but to be able to communicate with the unit is best to use the USB from the unit, like listen to music or watch movies or videos. @@sherryren310 if you connect the mic and speaker you can use them or the ones from the Lexus , the only reason to have the speaker on is for the GPS, while listening to music on the vehicle speakers, I have them connected but I don't use them.

I have a question it's hard to see on your video but I am having issue with my LVDS no 360 camera now how did you connect cables for cameras?
Hello and thank you for asking and hopefully you subscribed to my channel. I don't have 360 on my Lexus but I do have the backup camera. The harness comes with both options to connect either cameras. The instructions are not the best but look at the connections to ensure they are correct and it should work. Lastly contact the manufacturer and please share here for other users. Best to you

The knob should work right away but it does not work as a mouse. there are some of the functions that the knob will work but on some of them it will not work as a pointer or a mouse. You will have to touch the screen to select those times, hope that helps. Best to you.

Hello and thank you for asking, the unit has been working well, I recently exchanged it to the new version see video Mekede Tech Android unit for lexus 2 of 2 and this latest unit is faster and better, I mostly use Android Auto, the camara to backup, and phone calls.
The one thing I do not like is taking calls with the unit, so I paired my phone with my Lexus for calls, and audio with the unit, I do like it, and Lexus only came out with android auto starting 2020 and buying a new Lexus is not what I want now. Best to you.

@@akuragang1990 The calls are good but the Microphone on the Lexus is of better quality. the callers have told me that they cannot tell if I am driving while using the Lexus microphone, while on the screen, they can tell. Maybe it is also the placement of the mic, the Lexus has the mic above, while the screen I have it by the steering wheel. I have not tried to move the mic, are you thinking of getting one ?
