TK4037 Plays Stuff Scorch: Man, this place gives me the creeps. Sev: Ah, Scorch... Nothing better than a jungle hunt. Hiding in the bush, putting a plasma bolt through a hostile's cranium... Sev: Makes me feel alive. Scorch: Okay, now Oh-Seven's giving me the creeps.
sounds like you're playing a different game to me. most of the time I get my ass kicked and I need my squad to revive me instaid of the other way around
+Sev Yup, i'm convinced that he was indeed playing a different game. I myself find the shooting incredible (i like Halo's shooting mechanic so maybe that was why) . And whatever i tell my squad mates to do they get it done fast. Some enemies suck tho, like the fly-n-spay bug and the robot that can kill you in 2 hits.
+Muppet Hitler It was good probably 80% of the time.. But they do seem to have a problem going through doors for me. There were some parts for me on hard mode where the next room had 2 super battle droids and I went through the door realizing that my squad didn't follow me through because the door closed
+Muppet Hitler I've only played for about 20 min and so far I hate it. The gunplay sucks, the enemies are bullet sponges, the levels design resembles your average corridor shooter and the squadmates serve no purpose other than to make you wait for them to open doors. Is it that shit for the entire game or does it get better?
you made a mistake, most, if not all, of the stormtroopers are enlisted humans an not clones. during episode 4,5 and 6 most clones died of old age because they age faster than normal humans. only a few clones groups remained during the movies.
Except that in the Republic most bridge crew and other staff are also clones, and you can see that, while in the original trilogy they are all different. There's also the fact that Luke and Han's plan to disguise as Stormtroopers works, despite them being very different heights which would not work had all the forces been clones. As well as you know, Luke talking about wanting to go to the Imperial Academy.
In Battlefront 2 (the original/real one) during the campaign once you go through the Revenge of the Sith chapters and get into the Empire Era, the switch is quite good, and they added a lot of lore (which was later taken up by the comics and novels) on how the Kaminoans rebelled against the new Empire and had to be put down, after which the Empire's commanders wanted to diversify a bit and enlisted regular humans as well to join, while they weren't as good as the original troopers they were also less 'droid-like' than the clones often could be. The aging stuff was added in the Republic Commando novels IIRC, and didn't apply across board, in the old pre-Disney lore there were clone troopers around 20-30 years after Return of the Jedi even, some not having been giving the quick-aging gene to begin with, others having had it cured.
Yeah, that's a lie. You don't need to tell your squad to heal. If you stand near a bacta station, they'll heal themselves. They aren't stupid, they just prioritize staying near you. If you want them to prioritize healing rather than staying in formation, you give them the order. I really don't find the allies as stupid as the review seems to think, but there are moments when they do kinda stand out in the open instead of finding cover. I do have to say though, these are some of the smartest allies l've ever had in a FPS game.
I don't know what on earth you are talking about,I have replayed the campaign atleast 7 times by now (3 on easy, 2 on medium and 2 on hard). My AI was fine and did not behave as you described. shooting is fine for me, (you might wanna rebind a few keys like Zoom from Z to LMB but that't no problem) just git gud at aiming. (headshots are key) and finally you are approaching combat in the wrong way, you should stay behind cover (unless they are B1 battledroids, then you can just knife them all). and here are a couple of tips: B2 SBDs should can be easily taken out by tossing EMPs and concentrating fire on them (EMPs good for all mechanical type of enemies) or just use the Anti Armor atttachment The heavy merc can be easily countered by keeping him blinded with flashbangs and shooting his head, down with 3-2 shots and use flashbangs vs biological enemies to then quickly knock them down with some melee (flashbang only nessesary if they to many for you to take out at once) if your AI is flipping out, get it organised by concentrating fire. use sniper, grenade, anti-armor and etc. positions whenever possible, they weren't put there for nothing. finally, use melee vs light targets, easy kill when you've got them paralysed by flashbangs or EMPs.
+CyborgSoup As you said, the clones are just clones. So they develop their accent according to who raises/teaches/trains them. It isn't outlandish to think someone (or some people) with an American accent (or any accent) taught a specific group of clones, and they picked up that accent naturally. In turn, some of those clones went on to become a part of Delta Squad.
A clone would not have the same personality as the bounty hunter because most of that would come from life experiences same with accents and thins like that. They can be unique just not when it comes to appearance or physique.
SPENCER WAHLERS There are some twin studies that would argue a lot of personality is tied to genetics, also, in the films, all clones have the same accent.
As they are clones they will have a certain amount of the same personality I'd say, but yes you are right on how it's life experience which shapes a clone's personality. Sure there are those that barely changes until the day they die but said clones also don't seem to do much during their entire life other than serving the higher ups/fighting/training/what not.
They're essentially slaves, all created the same, all raised the same from the day of their creation, so they would all be exactly the same. You're not going to have some random asshole just acquire an Australian accent out of nowhere, or one that has a personality different from the rest.
I think you didn't understand the purpose of the F1-F4 squad commands... Especially F2 and F3 were a life-saver. Push while you have 3 men behind you or set up a line of defense in an area where you are in a better position than the enemy, e.g. lure out SBD's to come over to a gunship turret which one of your squad members occupied. Tactics m8.
Personnaly I love Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. It's a great FPS game and the combat can be really intense. Also it's in 3D unlike Star Wars: Dark Forces, and the graphics still look great today. It also has an insanely fun Multiplayer mode where you can play all sorts of characters and classes, and you have a long list of force powers. What was great about is that you could have allot of players on the field. I think it was 16 but it could have been 30 my memory is shaky on that bit. I didn't have internet when I was a kid. So back when I used to play it I could fight against bots. But it was really fun because that way you can choose for yourself what kind of bots you can fight against. And that way you could do matches like "10 Jedi vs 10 Sith Lords". Or just give yourself a Green Lightsaber, and give all of the other 15 players Sith robes and a red lightsaber. And that way it's just you as a Jedi, fighting 15 Sith lords in a Deathmatch. Some people prefer it's sequel Jedi Knight III: Jedi Academy. I have honestly not played enough of Jedi Academy but I think I greatly prefer Jedi Outcast. Anyway, I highly recommend those games if you're looking for an awesome Star Wars FPS.
This is such a late response that I had to look up publication dates lol, but Battlefront II (the original, not the EA/Dice monstrosity) is great as a single player, it's ofc better as multiplayer but still quite playable solo (especially as your trooper gets stronger the more he kills, ending up quite stronger than the Commando folks). At various points you can take over a Jedi hero for a various battle... but once it comes into Revenge of the Sith territory, the jedi you take over is Anakin running around slaughtering younglings in the temple, then proper Darth Vader later on as the campaign continues into Empire era.
I played this properly for the first time in 2017 and absolutely enjoy it. I never had any problems with the AI that you mention, but I do agree on the bullet sponge enemies, they do get a little annoying (especially on kashyyyk where the environments and battles tend to be either a hanger or a hallway).
Wow, a review I actually disagree with from you. This game to me is still amazing. It's aged considerably well to me considering it's over a decade old. This game has more story than most shooters out today and genuinely gets you attached to your teammates. It's the one thing that really kind of smooths out the clone wars for me and makes it look more mature and fitting for the Star Wars universe. I didn't hate the clone wars, in fact I liked it, I liked the concept. It just wasn't carried out as well as it could of have been. I never really experienced the derping out of my squadmates like you have very often. In fact I've only really lost one squadmate on Kashykk because he got stuck on a crate. Hahaha. Although that's extremely tame compared to the Witcher 3 which is a 2015 game where my horse constantly gets stuck and even flies sometimes. Then again it is an expansive RPG and expansive RPGs have bugs. Haha. Overall I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Star Wars or even just science fiction in general. It has really unique weapons and a story that I honestly haven't seen done ever since then and its dirt cheap on Steam. It also has one of the most amazing theme songs in the Star Wars universe in my opinion. The composer of the game wrote a song in Mandalorian which the commandos sung. It's short, but even to this day I still listen to that song. The music as a whole is just good, very dramatic and tasteful with a big focus on orchestras and manly choirs. Haha.
Joseph Grutt Oh if you beat it you will have feels. Just saying. Haha. It's not very long. I'm hoping that someone will take this concept and evolve on it. We've seen enough Jedi games. (:
Samuraislash600 For some odd reason, every time I go to play this, I get a few levels in and something unrelated happens that makes me have to format my computer and restart.
Samuraislash600 On the computer side yeah. As far as I know, the game was never the problem. Just a product of poor timing on my part. Currently I'm playing through the demo of Destiny. It's surprisingly fun. I'm sure that won't last, but at least I didn't have to pay a thing to play it (and it seems go online without Gold). I've got Star Wars Republic Commando installed on Steam, so I might chance fate later today as I don't have a lot of games I feel like playing right now.
Metal Gamer I saw those too and somehow didn't blow my brains out from the dudes mind numbingly awful voice. Lots of good points raised sure but not enough for me to just stop liking those movies.
Metal Gamer As do I but I don't think the prequels are anywhere near as bad in that regard as other movies that get widespread acclaim from everyone in comparison.
I think the reception for this game just comes down to how new and charming it was. It felt like it had more personality than stuff like battlefront, I remember reading all the Republic Commando books which featured Delta Squad and another team of Commandos pretty intensively, though I think I dropped out when it came to Order 66.
Two things that can make your play-through much better: -Never use the ADS (aim down sight) for weapons without scopes, because it's downright horrible. The weapons are accurate enough using the hip-fire accuracy and crosshair. -Never use the F# (F1, F2, etc) commands for the squad members, because some of the commands are useless, buggy, broken and stupid, and makes the squad mates stuck or left behind. These two things alone can be a game changer. The Squad members' AIs are actually pretty good, especially in close quarters with their unique CQC animations. :P The thing, that I think, that makes people love this game is the charm and charisma that it has. Excellent dialogues, excellent level design and pacing (there is something new in every single level), cool variety of weapons, cool variety of enemies, fantastic sound quality and production value, etc.
This was a really good review, though I don't agree with all of the opinion of the AI (I agree on some aspects), I do agree with everything else. Though I find the characters more memorable purely because they mean something to you in terms of gameplay. Think something like Ace Combat Zero, where you remember Solo Wing Pixy because of the skills he brings to the team. That's how I see 07, 62, and 40, an asset to the game that makes them all the more memorable.
Gamer Of Rock But they're all entirely the same, just different visually. If one character was always better at sniping or grenade throwing, as they set them up to be, it would've been different.
Gggmanlives Oh no, I agree. There are no differences besides character in these team mates, but the fact that you HAVE the team mates that actually DO things, makes them more memorable.
I remember playing this back in 2005 on Xbox. I must have played it every year for nearly a decade before it was lost. I agree with you, it could use a sequel (most likely using places from the Delta squad novels). but it definitely shows its age in a lot of spots. a few enemy types, wonky cross hairs, squad AI not always working and some repetition here and there.
the AI is probably just you. I do agree about the bullet sponge enemies though. It would be much better if the game added more enemies but made them each weaker.
It does get tiring when they always focus on the Jedi. One reason the original Battlefront games were so good was because they focused more on the grunts.
7:20 , yes you are playing the game wrong i can tell by just watching these bits of game play, you almost never melee, the basic melee attack was extremely effective(not to mention satisfying) against all enemy types and what i usually used to chop up super battle droid, also you rarely use your iron sights, you ding the game for having a large aiming circle but your the one choosing not to aim
The Republic Commando books were pretty sweet aswell. Also I liked the underpowered weapons, because they gave me the feel that I had to play tactical, and that I´m not some kind of rambo. And the end hit me hard when I played it back then, because I liked the characters and didn´t see them as numbers.
I love your reviews, you're entertaining to listen to and informative in most cases, but there were so many things wrong here, you must've been playing a different game cuz playing this game over and over i never saw these flaws, quite the opposite even. Reflecting back on it my squadmates did much better than i, and the gunplay was satisfying and fun to toy with.
This is actually wrong. Clone Troopers are not Storm Troopers. And the Clone army itself was never originally intended to be used by the Jedi, the guy who done it (and was killed by Sith) was expelled.
Completely agree with you. One key observation is the fact the all Unreal Engine 2 based games incl. Deus Ex Invisible War seems to have aged poorly. Its something about that engine that I hate. Comparatively Unreal Engine 1 based games look better like Deus Ex, Unreal Tournament 2004 etc.
I think your problem is that you wasted too much standard ammo on the heavy guys. When the best way of defeating them is either with the grenade launcher or the electric grenades(which are actually pretty common). Also you should have used the melee attack a lot more often since it kills most of the weaker enemies in one shot. That's the way I always played it and it's always been pretty fun for me. :)
DeltaHunterL I used the launcher when I had the ammo, but come on dude there's times when there's two of the battle droid spawners and there might be 5 or 6 of them at one time. They're just bullet sponges.
Stop shitting on a game made in 2005. This game was very good at the time and had some really fun mechanics. This is a game that was made before gaming companies went to shit.
This game was hailed on released as a great squad based shooter and one of the better Star Wars games. I tend to agree, but it's often good to revisit something before recommending it, as I've learned.
Man, I never had a single issue with the team AI, on either my Xbox and on my PC. Hell, I still feel the squad AI is some of the best I have seen in a game. My only real gripe with the game is how stupidly short it is.
+Cthulhoop I did not care for the Phantom Menace, or Revenge of the Sith, but Attack of The Clones was pretty good. The battle scenes were some crazy shit man.
The first one was awful but I grew up with them and found the other two to be okay. But people seem to forget the originals weren't that amazing. The films are fun and much better than the newer ones but I still liked em.
I'm mixed on my reaction to this review. I agreed with the points you brought up about the gameplay but feel like it was exaggerated. This game is still fun to play and while the weapons are pretty much pea shooters when going up against anything bigger than a normal droid I still loved the combat feel. This game really nailed the whole spec ops stuff perfectly. In the movies and shows the clone troopers are kinda just there not doing anything or getting killed. This game really sold me on it's fairly serious portrayal of the elite delta squad and the fact that the clones actually do military type stuff. So yeah, gameplay is fun but too bullet spongy and the overall presentation was fantastic!
Wow, I really have to disagree with you here. I personally believe RC is the best star wars game ever made, if not one of the best FPS games ever, competing with the likes of Half Life and Halo. Even on the PC version, I believe some of your issues arise with the controls. The default ones are wonky asf, and yes, some of the enemies are bullet spongey, but I don't believe I've ever had any issues with the AI, they were pretty damn smart for me, and the characterization was on point, Even better than most of the movies. It really seems like we played a different game.
+jaws No, he's wrong about that. The new Rebels series makes that clear; the clones were "old" after a few decades and retired in favor of the stormtroopers, who were just normal recruits from Imperial planets.
Before Disney bought Star Wars, though, it was implied that there were batches of clones made from different people to supplement the Empire until it started recruiting people. They had some bad batches of clones, so they cloned other people then started recruiting people. Apparently Vader's Fist, the 501st was the only pure Fett Clone legion.
All clones became storm-troopers, but the 'factories' that made the clones were shut down, so as the clones were killed they started to recruit normal humans into the empire instead. For example: I have a bag of skittles, and for each skittle I eat, i replace it with a smartie. Skittles = Clones, Smarties = normal humans.
the exact point was to make the clones from the most notorious bounty hunter. Their reflexes were superb, their instinct to kill was superb and their physiology was superb. Personality is a trait that is aquired, not genetic thus it makes perfect sense.
The only time I noticed bad AI was when one of my guys got stuck on a sniping position rock, he was trying to get bacta but he got on top of the rock somehow and was just spazzing out.
i played this game for the first time just recently, and I really enjoyed it. I think the reason your teammates weren't so keen on helping you is there is a team karma system in the game. If you let them kill often instead of you, revive them quickly as they're downed, and keep them healed they will react quicker and such. They don't really explain that much in the game, but you can often see how they feel towards you during combat. They will compliment your kills and urgently yell when you're downed if you've been on their good side. If you were doing this, then I guess the game does have shitty a.i., it just never stuck out to me during my experiences.
Gggmanlives I heard from a friend. After asking my friend about it he quickly told me he made it up, but even with that being false I never had a major problem with squad mates meandering about during critical moments.
The storm troopers aren’t clones, the clones troopers are. They were all phased out and removed and then they started enlisting men to be storm troopers.
When I was doing the part of the second mission where you have to take back the hangar, I told Scorch to place a charge on a dispenser. He proceeded to ignore me and cower behind a crate.
I've played the game through several times, each time noticing something that I did not on previous playthroughs. Earlier I used to ignore my teammates and used them as cannon fodders, but now I tried to really play around with the different ways of positioning them in combat zones, and that gives the player a big chance to implement tactics. I think this game is massively awesome, the derelict ship mission is one of the most atmospheric levels I have ever played. I see the problems you have with the game, but I just let them go and enjoy it as it is. And in defence of the pistol: it has saved my bacon on many occasions, and with careful aiming it can be a pretty handy weapon.
im happy you mentioned order 66. speaking of order 66, boss, sev, scorch, and fixer all disobeyed order 66. although, they dont have there control chips like the star wars cannon clones. they are apart of star wars legends.
I can tell you that when I got this game straight after release, it was incredible. I was young at the time but I can say that compared to other FPS games of the time, this was a BIG step above.
I'd definitely recommend the accompanying Star Wars: Republic Commando book series by Karen Traviss if you're really into Star Wars (like me). They take the Delta Squad characters (amongst others) and give them a proper story arc and expand their personalities. They really focus on the clones' attempts to live as normal people and show how they build camaraderie, how they work with the Jedi and deal with the fact that they are identical killing machines with a halved lifespan. Really interesting perspective and some great action too!
baxopoka98 This is my biggest issue with the expanded universe. Every criticism for a certain character in the films or games is always defended by something in one of the books or comics.
Gggmanlives That is true, given the sheer number of Star Wars things out there. Wookiepedia is a mess of comics, Christmas specials and obscure series. There were even sources which went in depth in explaining Han Solo's "the Falcon can do the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs" comment, which made no sense within the context of the film and was obviously a George Lucas fuck up. I think it's excusable in this instance, because the novels are officially tied in with the game (I think), but you can see why Disney wanted to wipe the slate clean.
What ? AI problems ? I never experienced any of the problems that were mentioned in the review... are you sure you were playing right ? And the game has aged very well to the point that I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good fps.
@@randomguy6679 I played on PS4 and the AI was no issue really. I had an issue one time where a party member glitched into the floor but that was it. Maybe it’s a PC issue?
I just beat this game just recently so I've been watching reviews, I disagree with a lot of your points like AI, in my experience the AI was actually really good and I never had to worry about them, I do agree about bullet sponge enemies but other than that the game was fantastic
I feel different about the character development, each member of the squad had his own personality and felt very real to me. Also they had nicknames: Sev, Fixer, Boss, and Scorch so your serial number argument is invalid
The Super Battle Droids in this game are fucking awesome enemies, you have to be tactical to take them down. That's good and bad. On one hand, they're a terrific challenge. On the other hand, they will fuck you up easily... way too easy for what's supposed to be considered a clone commando with ridiculously expensive armor (100,000 credits) vs a droid that cost 3000 credits to make. in Battlefront 2 2005, if I remember correctly, one of the flaws of the SBD was that they had slightly less health than your standard droid playable character. Here, these guys are absolute tanks. They take forever to kill. And if you're playing on Hard, these guys will kill you in like 4-5 shots at full health and shields. Play the game on hard mode, die, and have your squad at full health try and take down on of these monsters without using any sniper/grenade/ordinance cover areas. There is a very good chance they will all die. Now, have them do that for two SBDs, and you are guaranteed a game over. The thing about this game is that your enemies, if they aren't using turrets or using a sniper or grenade or other unique positions that you put them in, they simply suck against the hard enemies. You are their boss, YOU have to know what to do with them. For the most part, I never had problems with their AI.
The squad will automatically heal if you're near a bacta station, no commands necessary. I will agree that the game is short, and the AI is not always the best. Also the mouse behaves in the most hyper-accelerated manner in the menu/
I think you're playing the right game. But I'm also on the train of high praise that everyone else is. There are few, if any other, squad based shooters that are as fast paced or while offering as many options as SWRC. It also tiptoes a line between being forgiving with it's revive system that allows your squad to revive you as well, and the difficulty you mentioned of certain sections. Plus as far as shooters go, having memorable or even likable and passable AI companions is hit and miss, more often miss, but SWRC hits the mark more often than not. The flaws are there for sure, and those flaws shouldn't be ignored; however, the game makes up for it with how smooth it is and by working most of the time. It also helps that it's attached to the Star Wars brand and that as far as star wars games go, especially in the past few years, this is one that stands out in the vast sea of games both through its genre and polish.
Republic Commando is a great Star Wars game. The most notable feature was the interplay with the squad/friendly a.i. Most linear singleplayer shooters will have friendly a.i. that are just there. They don't really do anything, but the story acts like they do. In RC, the squad mates are absolutely essential. They are another arm or leg of the finely tuned killing machine that is the elite Republic Commandos. You need to keep them alive to stay alive yourself, to complete objectives, etc. I've not played any other FPS games that have such a good team play system with friendly a.i. Plus...you get to be a REPUBLIC COMMANDO.
It was nice to see you break down what you felt worked, and what didn't, for Republic Commando. I have a similar issue when trying to figure out if I should invest in the game, all I hear is that people really enjoyed being in the shoes of a clone trooper - which means very little to me given that I hate the prequels. Also, I really enjoyed your introduction in regards to watching the Attack of the Clones, made me laugh.
Perils of Pokey I think I might come off a bit harsh in this video, because I do think this is a pretty good game, I just think nostalgia is a hell of a drug, which is why most people love it so much.
Yay you finally reviewed Star Wars commandos and I would have to say the problems with the A.I. Not following you and not doing what their doing I kind of noticed that but when your team and you did positions and enemies started to come in there are times you annihilate them or they annihilate you but the game to me was fun and I would have to say that the republic ship you go in in the second mission was a pain in the arse and the third was the second frustrating but you know what good job gggmanlives you did it you responded to spammers good job and thumbs up
Were you playing this on the PC, the original Xbox, or the Xbox One? Because I've played it through to completion on all three platforms multiple times, and have never experienced any of issues that you've mentioned. My squad stays with me when I tell them to, they go where I tell them to, they attack units that I order them to, and I've never seen any of them 'dawdling around on the other side of the map'. Sure, they get downed every so often in situations where there are a lot of enemies (especially around the IG-100 Magnaguards and the Geonosian Elites), but that's just part of normal play. I do agree that most of the weapons feel kind of underpowered though. Some of those should have some more kick. The Wookie Rocket Launcher, Wookie Bowcaster, Concussion Rifle, and Heavy Repeater are pretty much the only guns worth using, and ammo for those is so scarce that it's kind of pointless anyway.
the thing is, since the new star wars movie and battlefront 3 are coming out im so excited that i requested this review watched all the movies again playng currently the jedi knight 2 games again, even installed force unleashed, the old republic and knights of the old republic, though i havent played those much
"That was a lot more intense than the simulations"
+Pervert_ Thanks, i'm deaf.
Sev: "You just like to blow stuff up."
Scorch: "Yes, yes I do."
CyborgSoup That’s what she said.
Watch those wrist rockets
sounds like you're playing a different game to me. most of the time I get my ass kicked and I need my squad to revive me instaid of the other way around
+Sev Yup, i'm convinced that he was indeed playing a different game. I myself find the shooting incredible (i like Halo's shooting mechanic so maybe that was why) . And whatever i tell my squad mates to do they get it done fast. Some enemies suck tho, like the fly-n-spay bug and the robot that can kill you in 2 hits.
me too .
It sounds like most of the issues he brought up apply to the PC version, as I had no problem with the A.I in the Xbox version.
Idk, I play the pc version and I didn't encounter these problems that he point out .
Even on hard dying is pretty rare, the sniper is so OP and the anti armor kit oneshots super battle droids.
really i had no problem with the games a.i, i actually found it to be quite good
+Muppet Hitler It was good probably 80% of the time..
It still beats today's AI.
The best team A.I. I've ever seen in anything is the boys from SOCOM 1 and 2. They're flawless, 100% of the time.
We haven't played the same game then. My allies are pretty much retarded whenever I play.
you made a mistake, most, if not all, of the stormtroopers are enlisted humans an not clones.
during episode 4,5 and 6 most clones died of old age because they age faster than normal humans.
only a few clones groups remained during the movies.
But they never tell you that in any of the movies, so its fair for people to not know.
The higher man damn I said nearly the exact same thing when I heard that
Except that in the Republic most bridge crew and other staff are also clones, and you can see that, while in the original trilogy they are all different. There's also the fact that Luke and Han's plan to disguise as Stormtroopers works, despite them being very different heights which would not work had all the forces been clones.
As well as you know, Luke talking about wanting to go to the Imperial Academy.
I was bout to say the same thing
Or maybe he just didn't figure it out?
Definitely not the smartest, not even close.
Shut up.
You can actually hear the Commandos refer to each other by nicknames most of the time, if you pay attention to the game's dialogue...
(headshots are key)
and finally you are approaching combat in the wrong way, you should stay behind cover (unless they are B1 battledroids, then you can just knife them all).
and here are a couple of tips:
B2 SBDs should can be easily taken out by tossing EMPs and concentrating fire on them (EMPs good for all mechanical type of enemies) or just use the Anti Armor atttachment
The heavy merc can be easily countered by keeping him blinded with flashbangs and shooting his head, down with 3-2 shots
and use flashbangs vs biological enemies to then quickly knock them down with some melee (flashbang only nessesary if they to many for you to take out at once)
if your AI is flipping out, get it organised by concentrating fire.
use sniper, grenade, anti-armor and etc. positions whenever possible, they weren't put there for nothing.
finally, use melee vs light targets, easy kill when you've got them paralysed by flashbangs or EMPs.

But Jango Fett isn't the Father to the clones. The clones are a clone of Jango Fett
+CyborgSoup I feel as though you just reinforced my claim.
+Daniel S How so?
+CyborgSoup As you said, the clones are just clones. So they develop their accent according to who raises/teaches/trains them. It isn't outlandish to think someone (or some people) with an American accent (or any accent) taught a specific group of clones, and they picked up that accent naturally. In turn, some of those clones went on to become a part of Delta Squad.
+Daniel S Ah, ok I get you. Never thought about that.
For me...this is the best Star Wars game.
Not Knights of the old Republic?
jonn smith FuriousFreeman or Jedi Academy?
Metal Gamer JA is fun and all, but it's definitely not the best IMO. Best multiplayer though.
Hijynx87 KOTOR-series, Jedi Knight-series, and X-Wing-series are my favorite Star Wars games.
***** the Lego games are pretty fun.
Spetzna 13 Commandos were given the ability to have more self thinking, along with other things. Dont know if that changes anything, but it might
They're essentially slaves, all created the same, all raised the same from the day of their creation, so they would all be exactly the same. You're not going to have some random asshole just acquire an Australian accent out of nowhere, or one that has a personality different from the rest.
@@jasonfenton8250 all clones were raised amongst each other in the same environment. They would all have similar accents and speech, clones or not.
Tactics m8.

For 10 years now.
I have no love for Battlefront, I just want Imperial Commando. Yeah.
Marsel Atanasoff
That is next level shit right there.
I'm through playing the Light side. The Dark side is much more mysterious and interesting.
Same here. Hell, a RC Remastered would be swell too!
Sacremas battlefront II from EA/Dice have actually cleaned the game up very well. It redeemed itself into a very fine game. It’s amazing now
I played this properly for the first time in 2017 and absolutely enjoy it.
Haha.
While I haven't beaten it, I did think it was a decent game. Certainly not the worse game in history (nor the worse Star Wars game).
Joseph Grutt Oh if you beat it you will have feels. Just saying. Haha. It's not very long. I'm hoping that someone will take this concept and evolve on it. We've seen enough Jedi games. (:
Samuraislash600
For some odd reason, every time I go to play this, I get a few levels in and something unrelated happens that makes me have to format my computer and restart.
Joseph Grutt Really? Wow. Corrupted file or something?
Samuraislash600
On the computer side yeah. As far as I know, the game was never the problem. Just a product of poor timing on my part.
Currently I'm playing through the demo of Destiny. It's surprisingly fun. I'm sure that won't last, but at least I didn't have to pay a thing to play it (and it seems go online without Gold).
I've got Star Wars Republic Commando installed on Steam, so I might chance fate later today as I don't have a lot of games I feel like playing right now.

ok.
I would say prequel bashing has reached an all time annoying high but Attack of the Clones totally deserves it out of the three.
***** I didn't hate the prequels... until I saw the Red Letter Media reviews...
Metal Gamer I saw those too and somehow didn't blow my brains out from the dudes mind numbingly awful voice. Lots of good points raised sure but not enough for me to just stop liking those movies.
***** I am sensitive to a plot not making any sense. When I realise that's the case, I enjoy the movies as a whole much less.
Metal Gamer As do I but I don't think the prequels are anywhere near as bad in that regard as other movies that get widespread acclaim from everyone in comparison.
***** Not sure what to compare them to in that regard, to be honest. Indiana Jones was sort of ruined by the latest movie to some extent.
I think the reception for this game just comes down to how new and charming it was. It felt like it had more personality than stuff like battlefront, I remember reading all the Republic Commando books which featured Delta Squad and another team of Commandos pretty intensively, though I think I dropped out when it came to Order 66.
Actually there is a dead clone with a lightsaber beside him.
It's sorta a secret little crawlspace you can go into.
Seems like you weren't meleeing enough.

That's fuckin retarded that meleeing is more effective than shooting them haha

They explained in Canon how the clones aren’t like Jango with his aggression.
This game was my childhood and I constantly replay it once or so a year.
Two things that can make your play-through much better:
-Never use the ADS (aim down sight) for weapons without scopes, because it's downright horrible.
The thing, that I think, that makes people love this game is the charm and charisma that it has. Excellent dialogues, excellent level design and pacing (there is something new in every single level), cool variety of weapons, cool variety of enemies, fantastic sound quality and production value, etc.
I found the game to be amazing.
This game is a freaking master piece. Loved it.
Gggmanlives By the way, I admire how you actually talk to your fans, without being rude or obnoxious. It's a breath of fresh air.
Gamer Of Rock
I'm only obnoxious to the ones who are obnoxious to me.
Gggmanlives Why is that?
Did you just say stormtroopers were clones of Jango Fett? And yet you're complaining about the prequels while not fact checking yourself? huh
ye prequel haters don't do any damn research and all they do is bitch and complain
7:22 Yeah, you’re playing the game wrong.
Being a clone doesn't mean you share the same accent and personality traits it just means you have the same genes. Had to get that off my chest.
Yeah, that's how it is in the Bad Batch...granted it's the same guy providing different-sounding voices for the characters.
It just feels noticeable, coming straight from the og Battlefront games
I question if he researched the lore because the stormtroopers weren't clones
"not a single lightsaber to be seen"
shows you how much this reviewer cares for the game
Touchy, aren't we?
It does get tiring when they always focus on the Jedi. One reason the original Battlefront games were so good was because they focused more on the grunts.
Yeah i disagree, you had a lemon. Republic Commando is an awesome game and i had a great time playing it, several times.
Yeah the books are great. A shame Karen Travis never finished the last one. :/
There is actually a lightsaber to be found in the game but it’s just an Easter egg
Sometimes Gman really does let his ignorance show. This review being one of those instances.
''it's hard to feel attached to a character who's name is a serial number''
Idunno man, movies like Blade Runner 2049 proves that wrong.
there is a easy way to kill those super druids. run around them in a circle and melee them till they die.
I remember this on OG xbox was well good.
the humor is allways super xD the qoutes xD

It was a good idea, they did exactly what was expected from them.
I agree, Super Battle Droid Dispensers are always a pain to deal with. Especially on Kashyyk. The Bridge level gave me nightmares as a kid,
One of my all time favorite video games
Stop shitting on a game made in 2005. This game was very good at the time and had some really fun mechanics. This is a game that was made before gaming companies went to shit.
None of the weapons feel impactful? Have you tried shooting the anti-armor attachment? Nothing is more satisfying.
Am I the only one who liked the prequels?
+Cthulhoop I did not care for the Phantom Menace, or Revenge of the Sith, but Attack of The Clones was pretty good.
The battle scenes were some crazy shit man.
your in luck, i loved episode 2 and 3. 3 was my most fav b/c of order 66.
+Cthulhoop i hate the phantom menace and attack of the clones but i love revenge of the sith
+Cthulhoop Yep
Might try it again sometime. I used to play it all the time.
Clone troopers and Storm troopers arent the same right?
They were Anakin's same troops during the republic.
Shut up bro.
I could watch you review games I will never play but I can't stop watching them for some reason

Vode An always gives me chills. What a powerful theme.
the exact point was to make the clones from the most notorious bounty hunter. Their reflexes were superb, their instinct to kill was superb and their physiology was superb. Personality is a trait that is aquired, not genetic thus it makes perfect sense.
That's the exact reason why they added different voice actors for each of the team, there's a behind the scenes making of the game in the options.
Dude I would recommend this game
I still say this is one of the best SW games I've played AND it deserves some kind of sequel.
The only time I noticed bad AI was when one of my guys got stuck on a sniping position rock, he was trying to get bacta but he got on top of the rock somehow and was just spazzing out.
Lol the stormtroopers are not clones the Empire retired the clones and Vader only kept his clone squad.
The 501st
i played this game for the first time just recently, and I really enjoyed it.
Hmmm I don't know about that. Where did you hear about this karma system?
Gggmanlives I heard from a friend. After asking my friend about it he quickly told me he made it up, but even with that being false I never had a major problem with squad mates meandering about during critical moments.
So when are you getting to that Republic Commando review? :3
The storm troopers aren’t clones, the clones troopers are. They were all phased out and removed and then they started enlisting men to be storm troopers.
When ever I could, I make sure to use the sniping/bombing positions because they don't run out of ammo, but you do.
Could you do a review of enemy territory quake Wars I cant get enough of your reviews by the way keep up the good work
When I was doing the part of the second mission where you have to take back the hangar, I told Scorch to place a charge on a dispenser.

''Where you're flying solo''. Instantly the kinect dancing game came to mind where Han Solo is dancing... oh god
xd
Please review Command & Conquer: Renegade
Not following you and not doing what their doing I kind of noticed that but when your team and you did positions and enemies started to come in there are times you annihilate them or they annihilate you but the game to me was fun and I would have to say that the republic ship you go in in the second mission was a pain in the arse and the third was the second frustrating but you know what good job gggmanlives you did it you responded to spammers good job and thumbs up
This was legit unbelievable for early 2005 and just shortly behind 2004 battlefront
I actually liked most parts of the prequels except for the first one where I only liked the race and the Maul battle.

I think my boy BT disagrees.
The Wookie Rocket Launcher, Wookie Bowcaster, Concussion Rifle, and Heavy Repeater are pretty much the only guns worth using, and ammo for those is so scarce that it's kind of pointless anyway.
the thing is, since the new star wars movie and battlefront 3 are coming out im so excited that i requested this review watched all the movies again playng currently the jedi knight 2 games again, even installed force unleashed, the old republic and knights of the old republic, though i havent played those much
It's here!! Your best review in my opinion
The second mission is on a captured republic cruiser
Update most if not all those bugs are fixed on the Xbox one backwards compatible version
