I got my fires mixed up.
Hi mate, do You recommend buying and playing Republic Commando?
It is on Steam sale now, and I can't decide whether I should get Kotor 2 or This XD
Nice video, boss! I prefer Jedi Outcast, Dark Forces II and then Dark Forces 1 to rank up the top 3 :)
HAHA nice
Can you take a look back at brutal half life?
@@Misterbiszkopt republic commandos short but it's really good. Kotor 2s very good as well, will last you 30 hrs or so like most Bioware games if that helps.
I was probably 6 years old when this game came out, I remember setting the civilians in the first level on fire laughing about and then calling my dad over to see this hilarious new discovery of mine, he banned me from playing shooting games until i was 15 lmao.
I used to do the exact same thing and laugh my ass off, mom didn’t like it but dad had my back
RIP
Just like when I received Conker's Bad Fur day at Christmas and always played the game hiding. My parents found it weird I always had the TV closed when they came downstairs xD
My dad yelled at me for shooting the helmets off allies in medal of honor during the Normandy beach landing.
Man I feel bad for y'all that had parents that frowned upon violent video games. It's a video game,.....well I guess I don't need to explain it to you lol. Still when I was a kid some of the first games I played were bloody and gorey, and my dad introduced me to them! Doom, Blood, Duke Nukem, Heretic, Quake....I mean I played other games too but shooting up monsters and people didn't make me a serial killer or mass murderer lol
An elegant game from a more civilized age
Sounds like republic commando

How is it lost? You can tell that was what he was trying to do in the film. If it was lost, you would have only known that from a interview or from the novel.
I still feel like this was kinda dumb. In the lore he killed 6 Jedi, some without a weapon. I don’t feel like it would’ve been his first time with a malfunctioning gadget. Plus he shouldn’t have gotten run over in the first place. Would’ve been better if he just got force pulled or maybe crushed by shatter Point?
@@Smorccc yes but i mean boba fett also died in a pretty dumb way involving his jetpack and he is also supposed to be the greatest bounty hunter in all of star wars so i guess it was more of a refference to the other movies

The books and games definitely carried the franchise at that point and time, just as the Mandalorian carries today. On a side note, it was pretty remarkable how well they stayed in their own lane from a story perspective; plots and characters were original, but every writing team seemed to make sure to tie in the preexisting species, weapons, settings, and so on; this is something the new trilogy seemed allergic to.
Episode 2 and after Honestly carried it own its own weight because it was the gateway that allowed even more intriguing story telling and world building that is far better then the current continuity
@@davantebarbain3216 Yeah, it kind of felt like this last trilogy was a soft reboot flex-taped into the timeline. They had some good ideas in some places, but they felt wasted.
@@HelghastStalker they had something with Finn for the first 15 minutes of the first movie in that trilogy... he didn’t amount to much! But for those 15 minutes... they had something
It's kinda funny that after the original star wars trilogy the best of the franchise has really been every medium except movies.
@@BarnyWaterg8 still haven't watched the final film in the New trilogy. I told everyone I'd watch it if every character in it dies. I heard they didn't so I see no reason to watch it seeing I don't care about any of the characters.
This game was so badass to me as a kid. Nothing quite like this or any other Star Wars games like it today.
jedi outcast. 😎
When I was a kid, we had Shadows of the Empire and upcoming Dark Forces 1 :D
This, Jedi Outcast and Academy, Rogue Leader, Republic Commando, KotOR, and even the Clone Wars game made the early 2000s the best time for Star Wars games. There's been good games since (like Force Unleashed and Fallen Order), but no where near the amount of back to back bangers like we had during that time.
@@dreamerabe Star wars was so good back then, the first 2 prequel movies were weak imo but the stuff around it like books, games and shows (both clone wars shows, robot chicken specials) were so good. Honestly I know more people who love the stuff around it more than the movies. George Lucas cared about Star Wars and let people make it better. He let people use his world and creations to make great stories and adventures. He probably wishes disney honored the verbal agreement that they would listen to his input.
@@xanzibar Definitely. I even loved the first two prequel movies as well. They had their problems (especially the first one), but at least they had heart and respected the mythology. And yes, I wish Disney had listened to Lucas. If he had had a supervising role, the sequel trilogy would had been much better. He would had least kept the directors from doing what they wanted without respecting what came before.

5:32, actually Jango attempted to fly away as Mace came very very close to him. Unfortunately unbeknownst Jango his jetpack was damaged, you can see him trying to use it, but fails to activate.

Just a PSA, this can be bought off the PS4 store as one of the few emulated PS2 titles they currently sell. That's how I first discovered it and have been in love with it ever since.
Edit: oh and also, they got Temuera Morrison back from the films to voice his character. That's why he still sounds so kickass in the game.
Like how they did with red dead revolver
I swear Temuera Morrison is the luckiest guy in the star wars series. He gets to play numerous characters, got his own show, and the most badass characters at that!
@@mider-spanman5577 I'm just glad he ENJOYS the role, unlike a certain someone.
It’s not that Jango didn’t learn anything about fighting a Jedi and died it’s that his jet pack didn’t work lol

Bro Jango tried to start his jetpack when mace rushed towards him but the jetpack was crushed by that rhino animal. You can see his jetpack starting and dying after a second.

Underrated 007 games.
5:20 actually his jetpack was damaged by that four legged creature earlier and so when hes fighting Mace Windu he attempts to use it to fly backwards while firing (like he did once or twice before in the movies) but it doesn't work cause it's damaged and so he gets his head sliced off. You can even see it in the clip you showed in this video. This was brought up recently and makes sense why he was so easily killed in the movie, he wasn't expecting his jetpack to malfunction.
I mean to be fair to Jango in that scene with Windu, he only got that close out of necessity and was trying to get away but his jet pack failed on him. You can even see it sputter when he tried to break off.
Plus this was right after he killed another Jedi close range with his blaster so he was probably a bit cocky.
Him being cocky makes it even dumber. Nobody with his experience would underestimate a Jedi, no matter how many he killed previously. They wrote him badly in the scene.
I mean his son literally got knocked out by a blind man after getting into close range to fight Luke with his blaster. Cockiness leading to their downfall is kinda par for the course in this family.
Imagine ever engaging a jedi at anything other than long range with a rifle.
@@Gggmanlives I mean the clones did and it worked out pretty well for them. Then again they had numbers.
And the Jedi lost their plot armor.
@@Gggmanlives maybe he tjought his beskar amour would protect him? Apparently it's strong enough to block lightsabers. Plus mandos could fight jedi and sith in one and one battles and win, in legends mandalore the ultimate managed to nearly beat revan of all sith. Maybe Jango thought he had a fighting chance🤔?

Scarface and the Godfather game were absolutely classic.
13:19 Some bounties are worthless if captured dead, and vice versa. One enemy you can capture in Environmental District _must_ be taken in dead, another one in Chapter 3 where the description simply says they want the target gone.
Sometimes the descriptions were funny to my favorite was "cop on the take, took too much"
Yeah one of the targets toward the end of the second prison level is actually the boss from Chapter 1, and if I remember correctly he’s wanted dead with the bounty posted by the beast fighter he cheats in the opening cutscene
A few of the darker ones were escaped slaves or rescued slaves and their rescuers and you end up returning them to Jabba’s harem or rancor pit.
Legend of a game, just re-completed it on my GameCube. This extremely under-rated game, was literally my childhood. It's amazing how advanced this game was especially for a 2002 game, and all these cut scenes and animation. Literally a hidden gem, that not many people know about, and I'm glad for that. Really happy I still have it's orginial, and still playing till this day.

Also, i'm going to borrow some ideas for some of my prodeus maps. Campaign incoming!
I think Temuera did a lot of voice work for Jango and the clones in the prequel era LucasArts games
Wow crazy, we share the same ultra rare name.
Temuera Morrison has voiced Jango and Boba in Bounty Hunter, Battlefront II, Battlefront 2015 and Battlefront II 2017.
He also did the Clone voices in Battlefront 2004.

Now we need a spiritual sequel with the Mandalorian before the show starts, in his ruthless bounty hunting years
This is one of those older games, I somehow managed to beat in my younger days, but rage quit nowadays.
Trick for nabbing bounties in a hoard is to try and scan them before they agro. If the crowd is small enough use the Saber Darts to drop everyone else and then claim them. If you are lucky they are wanted dead, then you just claim them after the room is cleared.
One of the best Star Wars games ever made. I played the hell outta this and battlefront 2 when I was a kid. Such a shame that it was decanonized, it gave Jango Fett such a great backstory and was a good prelude to AOTC and it even connected with the Jango Fett Open Seasons comics.

@@TheOneHoddToward Yeah me too, the Open Seasons comics were some of the best things to come out of the Old EU.
It was pretty crazy how you could murder civilians in this game. Probably wasn’t great for me as a kid lol I remember how you could use the flame thrower to torch a big crowd of innocent bystanders at the market place and they would run around screaming as they died. Thanks for reviewing it GmanLives! It brings back memories...;-)
5:35 i have always loved that you could see two shadows. One for the helmet and the other for the head :P
it's worth mentioning that in attack of the clones you can actually see jango trying to use his jetpack before maze windu cuts his ehad off but it malfunctions, which kinda makes it feel like he knew to back away from jedis, he just wasnt able too
exactlyyyy i just went on a whole rant commenting that 💀
5:20 omg this is so wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, if you rewatch the first fight jango fett had with a Jedi (The one with Obi-Wan) you see he waits for Obi-Wan to get in close range and then fly away with his jet pack to get higher ground for an advantage. now if you watch the fight between jango and Mase Windu, before mace charges at him Jango is trampled by a Reek (The giant red three horned beast Anakin rode), this disables jango Fetts Jetpack without him knowing. Now when Mace Windu is charging at jango, you can clearly see when Mace Windu gets into close range, Jango Fett's jet pack shoot out sparks and then a small amount of fire, showing that Jango Fett tried to fly away and use the same move he used on Obi-Wan, but due to being unaware of his jet pack being disabled, he went absolutely nowhere and was beheaded by mace Windu.
just rewatch it with this knowledge and you'll how much more this makes sense, rather than "the best bounty hunter ever just didn't learn how to deal with jedi at close range." cmon now
5:24 Dude the Reek (alien rhino thing) stomped on Jango and broke his jetpack. Jango tried to escape but his jetpack was too damaged. Which is also reminiscent of Boba's jetpack getting busted by Han Solo by accident. I def think Jango could have gotten more screen time, but I would say that about so many SW characters.
I love your reviews I do wish you could do them more often I’m always finding myself refreshing RUclips to see if u have uploaded lol 😆
Plot twist: Jango was trying to scan Windu and see if he had any bounties on him.
The prequels were never bad to begin with.
Based
agreed
Jango's jetpack malfunctioned/was broken when he was facing Mace Windu, so there was no getting away for him. If you look at the footage you can see sparks coming from the jetpack and the vents of the jetpack trying to fire up. He was trapped on the ground against a superhuman space wizard.
The "your mom" jokes never fail to crack me up.
Jango did attempt a quick get away before his beheading. You see his jet pack is broken...
I agree with you completely about the bounty hunting mechanic. Jango is way too vulnerable when marking targets. In a game titled "Bounty Hunter" you would think that there would have been more care put into this gameplay element. I like your idea about targets being marked from the start, but an optional EMP area of effect scanner similar to the one in Horizon Zero Dawn would have been nice too. This would allow you to run around and scan nearby targets simultaneously.
It can't all be easy. Half the challenge was having to actually find the bounties. It is what bounty hunters do. People want games to play themselves for them,. Not me
@@mrjuse5470 finding them based on suspicious activity would have been fun too. Things like hiding, irregular movement, committing new crimes, or peculiar conversations.

This game truly is a childhood classic to me when I played it growing up on the gamecube.
It's like everything you described, the game was hard as hell to play! Especially with the weird ass platforming and how the enemies just swarm your ass in every corner, barely giving you time to haul ass and take cover from enemy blaster fire.
This game truly was one of the best star wars games at the time despite the flaws it has.
Funny story GMAN, you mentioned something about how frustrating it was in the review about getting farther into a level only to restart it from a super early moment within the level after you get killed by enemies. For me it was like that times 10 because when I first had the game and played it, we didn't have a memory card to put into the gamecube to save progress (yet) in the early years of me and my siblings owning the console (it belonged to my sister. She got it for Christmas. While I got the PlayStation 2 and my brother got the OG xbox. Also on Christmas).
So due to the lack of a memory card. Every single day when I played bounty hunter and got farther into the game by passing certain levels, whenever it was time to turn off the gamecube, all my progress would be gone in a heartbeat! And I needed to start from level 1 all over again! And it was like that every. Single. Frustrating. Damn. Day!!!
Thankfully we invest in getting one, and luckily those issues were put to rest. So I completely get the frustration, but the pain was doubled for me! 😂

In his run-in with windu his jetpack didn't work he couldn't get away from him.
I think I remember beating this like 5 times. Don't think I could do that now.
fyi the reason Jango doesn't fly away from Mace Windu in AOTC is because his jet pack is frazzled from tussling with one of the arena animals. You see it being damaged, then when Mace is swinging for him you see the jet pack try to ignite and fail. He's trying to flee but his gadget failed on him at the worst time.
All of your opinions about the prequels are so original. 😁
You mad?
Duuude, you can cleary see that Jango tried to escape mace windu, you see his jetpack activating for a second but it was damaged before, that's why it didn't work. That's also the reason Windu looks so shocked after he killed him. He did not expect and want to kill him there.
Still a great video, thanks for that.

Everything in this review is correct. I have a lot of fondness for this game, ever since I saw my brother’s friend play it I was OBSESSED with it and Jango as a character. Jango’s agility and the jetpack made it so exciting to play, and the variety of the worlds helped too (I always skipped the later ones, too much hassle). I recently got it on PS4 and man, without nostalgia goggles it really is something else. That camera, that continue system, that level design, it’s all so antiquated. One dumb detail I did like though was that you could unlock bloopers, as in the animators went through the effort of animating voice takes that didn’t go well or just anything they thought would be funny to include. Anyway, nowadays I get all my blasty jetpack action from The Mandalorian, but back in the day, we had to fight through hordes of enemies for our extra Mandalorian content!
Oh hell yes, I'm getting this in the mail off Ebay within the next couple days. Perfect timing, mate
It’s also available on PS4 in high res. One of the rare PS2 games to ask if you want to have resolution at progressive scan. Pretty neat for a PS2 classic.
And it’s on PS NOW
Just emulate it
This was the Mandalorian before the Mandalorian. And unlike Din, Jango actually took out a card-carrying member of the Jedi Order in this game, even though she was corrupted by then. Din could barely take out a Dark Trooper, so he can't even compare to the OG Mando that is Jango Fett.
