The footnote on the word Onyx in Genesis 1:12 indicates a better translation as Lapis Lazuli. This was a prized stone in ancient antiquity and often associated with Kingship. Maybe the rainbow being "taken" could also refer to the lgbtq community using the rainbow as their symbol.
