Seeing the face of the Lord is not a privilege just for apostles, although it is a special part of their calling and I appreciate you gathering these quotes here. We are each to “seek His face” and are promised in D&C 93:1 and other places this can happen for each of us. Those experiences are tender, personal, and probably unpublished too, and too numerous to mention, but treasured up in each individual heart….so seek Him for yourself and you can also know independent of anyone else….an experience like that changes your life and is worth every sacrifice to qualify for it….seek and ye shall find…❤

🤔 Interesting 1844 is the year Joseph Smith died. Talking about Jesus, when I have had dreams or visions of him, he was pure bright white light, and I could not make out his facial features.
I believe that this is true. The scriptures teach us that we can be privileged to have the experience of seeing Jesus Christ. After all, when Joseph Smith had his first vision he wasn’t an apostle or a prophet…he was just a 14-15yr.old boy. None of the prophets of old were prophets when they first met the Lord. This experience is not something one goes around announcing to everyone just. This experience is sacred and not for everyone to know.😊
True. I'm always letting people know it's not just for the prophet or the Twelve. This particular e-mail I sent just so happened to be about one of the Twelve, partly because it's easier for Jared to get a solid reference for it.
It is my personal opinion that one can't be a special witness of the resurrected Christ without seeing/meeting Him personally. I believe all the Apostles know Him in reality.

My desire is to see his face. I love to hear testimony of people who have sure testimony. There's a softness and a boldness in such a testimony. We can see him in spirit. We can feel his presence. But to hear him say, well done is most desirable.
Elder Haight’s near death experience makes these other testimonies more clear. When most people die, they see their own life in review. Our church leaders see The Savior’s mortal life in review.
That certainly makes them a “sure witness”!!

Hi Jared. I would really love to hear your thoughts on something. I am reading this book that I borrowed from member of my bishopric. It’s called “The Five Books of Moses. An Easy-To-Read Torah. By Sol Scharfstein.” I came across something very interesting.
There’s a part in the book that describes the reading of the Torah in the synagogue and how it is done, and how members can participate by performing these different tasks, or honors. This is a quote from the book… “Another honoree binds the Torah with a sash and dresses it with its mantle and ornaments. This honor is called gelilab, which in Hebrew means ROLLING TOGETHER”.
I wonder if the glorification of the heavens with the city of Enoch and the changing of the earth’s atmosphere is what the book of revelation is referring to when it says the heavens will be rolled together like a scroll. I would love to hear what you think about this.

How did I miss this? I think it's a wonderful prospect to seek the face of Jesus. Perhaps we can do that through doing what our prophet suggested. Use the topical guide as our tutor in looking up the characters of our Lord. You always give me things to ponder. Thank you, Jared.
The apostle Paul also had an experience he said was unlawful to speak of. And he didn't know if was in or out of the body.
