In an interview with Emmet’s mom, Maime. She stated that Emmet had a stutter. When he couldn’t get his words out, she taught him to calm down the stuttering with a sharp whistle. Idk if that’s what happened but this is what his mom thinks happened and I can see why. These adults took this child’s disability and murdered him for it, amongst other horrible things.

And one of his friends dared him to ask out the clerk in a dad, he went in alone…. Came out after his buddy came in and said let’s go… and she came out grabbed a gun and that’s when he whistled/howled/cat called … and him and all his buddies/cousins(which were a lot) ran into the car and drove away

Emmitt Tills mother has made a documentary stating that Emmitt whistled due to a speech disability he had that was diagnosed. When he stuttered he had to whistle.
Till’s mother chose to view the horrific condition of her son’s corpse to let the world know. Very brave of her. Those racist animals weren’t products of the time they lived; they were monsters.

@@markturner6240- It's a facade. Blacks and whites get along fine in most places, but the same problems still exist. Just because people get along doesn't mean they see each other as equals. I'm originally from Mississippi and visit quite often. I believe Greenlawn Cemetery is still segregated.
@@markturner6240- I believe most people know that the south isn't under Jim Crow any longer, but there is still a white mindset in the south that tends to work against black people. They make poor excuses about embracing the monuments of the confederacy. You can also see it clearly in their voting patterns. Poor whites vote against their own best interest, primarily because of race. When Obama ran for President, you had a lot of white Democrats that wouldn't vote for him in the deep south. The south still has a serious racial divide.
There seems to be a movement to change this mindset, but only time will tell.
The Gods clearly cursed those men, and rightfully so. They lost everything. The grass around their graves is even dead. It also goes to show that the community can pay for the evils of their people if they allow it to go on. You may think some people get away with their atrocities, but they really don't. Every time I read or see anything about this tragedy my heart is crushed for little Emmett. He was still a little boy! There is no way a 13/14 year old boy, especially a black boy in the 1950s, would grab a woman, a white woman, by the waist and be vulgar. Maybe a whistle on a dare but I even doubt that. What they did to that child is unspeakable, consider the pain and terror he felt. It’s just so wrong. I do believe in letting the past stay in the past but not things like this. They have to be remembered and re-told again and again so that we never forget, if we forget, it will happen again and again. His poor mother, his family and friends. I believe they are all resting in peace. Thank you Lamont for remembering.

I remember when I first heard his story in a documentary, I literally cried for Emmit and his mother. The cruelty that was bestowed upon him and no justice. His mother I thought so brave. With all her pain, she wanted the world to see what those men did to her baby. I hope Emmit got his justice in the afterlife. Btw I look forward to your videos except when you have Troller. That was commonplace in the south. I had a friend in college whose best friend was lynched in the 80's in Mobile, AL when we were in college in Alabama.

The saddest part was they suffered no consequences for what they did no jail time no nothing, they lived the rest of their lives with no guilt or remorse I’m sure, cause no one told them they were wrong getting away with murdering a kid a 14 year old kid he had so much life to live, he never got to go to high school, go to prom, drive a car, get a job, start a family of his own, he could’ve still been alive today but those men got to live their lives while Emmett couldn’t.
