Ricky Proehl called it pre game when he said “tonight a dynasty is born baby”. He was just talking about the wrong dynasty
Lol, he sure was!
We can criticize the Patriots and Tom Brady everytime we want, but it's inevitable recognize that they wrote a lot of the history of the Super Bowl with epic moments, and everything needs to have a beggining, and this SB was their beggining, the beggining of the Patriots's dynasty and the legend of TB12
Well that's nice and all but they cheated to win this game so I don't give a shit
@@nicknackau There’s absolutely no proof of that.
Will go down as the most famous footballer ever. Can you think of a more famous football player, in history?
@@isaacpeachey8609 look up Spygate.
@@Telly26 , do you know what Spygate is? Filming was allowed and is still allowed today. Prior to 2006, there was no rules regarding filming, teams could film from anywhere. In 2006, the league issued a memo that all filming must be done from a booth up top. In 2007, the Patriots got caught filming from the stands and not the booth up top, so that's the infraction, the location of the filming, so do you really think that's cheating? I don't. If filming wasn't allowed at all, then yes, that would be cheating, but what NE did isn't cheating, so get over it, son.
Legendary. Who would’ve guessed this was going to last twenty years?
20 years of cheatriots cheating.

@@josecarranza7555 ahh cowgirls fan i see. stay salty
I always liked how Adam Vinatieri started celebrating the second he kicked it
And then started going even crazier when it actually went through the uprights. Special moment in history
My son was born just a week before the Patriots cemented their Dynasty status with a win over the Philidelphia Eagles in 2004. He grew up spoiled knowing nothing but New Englands dominance over the NFL and even witnessing a second dynasty. I remember when I was a kid I got made fun of for loving the Patriots in the 80s and 90s I felt so vindicated when this happened. I remember thinking I just wanna see the Patriots do it once before I die lol! Who knew!
I’m gonna miss Brady. 20+ years in the NFL and this is where the success all began.
He ain’t going anywhere (for now).
He'ssss BACCCKKKK!
@@jacksonconley5117 Yeah unfortunately he's still here. He needs to just retire already. - Every NFL team except the Bucs
And he’s gone yet again
4:07 Belichick overheard saying “it’s gotta be Vinatieri” likely in reference to the game’s MVP which went to Brady instead.
Also, notice how much better of a commissioner Paul Tagliabue was. He didn’t get booed at all in comparison to the hated Roger “17 Game Season” Goodell
Oh wow, yeah, I heard the same. So he thought the kicker would win it.
Goodell should be in prison
Yeah selling tickets that didn’t exist at the Super Bowl in Dallas. He’s a criminal.
Pats were 14 point dogs going into that game - no one thought they would beat the “Greatest Show on Turf” - but they did!
One of the happiest moments of my life!!!! Patriots Forever!!!!
Mine too I lost my voice for 2 days after that because I screamed so loud!
Being a Michigan fan who grew up with season tickets I can assure you people had no idea why Brady ever split time with Henson. But I do remember the game that ended the split time at QB. Brady led a comeback win at Penn State which required TWO TD drives in the last 6 minutes or so with Michigan down 10, Penn State 27 - Michigan 17. One of the TDs was during a 3rd and goal at the Penn State 7 or 8. The receivers were covered and Brady scrambled. He skampered toward the end zone and dove. His reach put the ball right on the goal line. Touchdown. It was frickin epic and remains one of my favorite plays in Michigan history. Now there were fewer than 3 minutes left, Penn State 27 - Michigan 24. After the kickoff Michigan got the ball back after stopping Penn State. They had about two minutes to go. After a good punt return put the ball on the Penn State 40 Brady was up again. All he did was complete pass after pass and lead a drive that took about a minute. It was capped by a beautiful pass to WR Marcus Knight (very underrated WR in Michigan history) on front of the Penn State student section. After that there was no split time at QB. Brady went on to lead #8 Michigan in a win over a #4 Alabama team which featured Shaun Alexander in the Orange Bowl thus cementing his status as a Michigan legend.
And this moment cemented his status as a ALL TIME legend
Everytime I think of football when I was a kid I always think of pat summerall and John madden voices in the background
They were the greatest!
we have 3 great quarterbacks but you will NEVER see the other 2 great qbs again since a goat was born on this day lol
We are all patriots and tonight the patriots are world champions.. he's said that in all the super bowls he won lol legend.. (eagles fan here)
In 2002…
-Yamila Diaz-Rahi made the cover of that year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue for the only time.
-Friends was the #1 rated show in prime time.
-Video games like Metroid Prime, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, WWE SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Super Mario Sunshine, SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals and Kingdom Hearts became bestsellers.
-The Miami Hurricanes became the fourth National Champions of the BCS era, the Los Angeles Lakers won their 14th NBA Championship, the Maryland Terrapins were that year’s College Basketball National Champions, Tony Stewart won his first NASCAR Cup, Ward Burton won that year’s Daytona 500, the Detroit Red Wings won their 10th Stanley Cup, the Anaheim Angels won their only World Series to date and the New England Patriots began a dynasty, winning their first of a record-tying six Super Bowls.
…and…
-Films like Spider-Man, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Die Another Day, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets ruled the box office.
Brazil also won the World Cup, and we had the Salt Lake Winter Olympics.
And USA held their latest Olympics to this date a few days after this Super Bowl, the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympic Games.
I remembered this postgame for 18 years!
Thank you Tom Brady, it's been fun! This 28 year old man still can't believe it's over.
I hate to break it to you but it’s not over
@@rtlthemusician5598 hate to break it to you too, it is now
And he goes on to win 6 more...goat
Can’t be the only one that thinks they could’ve stopped that clock with 2 seconds left?? Kept going after kick went in
Rule back then was the clock wound afterwards I believe.
6:06 WE ARE ALL PATRIOTS THAT IS GOING TO BE ON A STATUE SOMEDAY!!!!!
“WE ARE ALL PATRIOTS “
2:58 for those wondering why McGinest was so emotional it was because of a holding penalty he committed on Marshall Faulk that called off a fumble return for a touchdown by Tebucky Jones. The touchdown would’ve given the Patriots a commanding 24-3 lead… but once the flag was thrown the Rams scored two touchdowns to tie the game at 17-all. Add to the fact that McGinest was apart of the Patriots team that fell to the Packers five years earlier and you can see why he was so emotional. A great player and I’ll always be a huge McGinest fan!
1:17 im amazed Vinatieri got the kick off with that boom mic in the way
he somehow fazed through it
I forgot that the patriots have been to 2 Super Bowls before Tom Brady ever made his debut with Drew Bledsoe and Steve Grogan
Now Just Give Tom Brady 6 More
Insane. Never thought I’d see such dominance.
And Tom Brady giving bucs the second super bowl championship EVER
There is one person trying to put on a happy face, while dying inside, and his name is Drew Bledsoe
End of an era 🥺
Kraft's best speech by a mile. This one was genuine and heartfelt and spontaneous. The ones that followed, while welcome, were all a little canned.
came into the nfl the underdog and is leaving the big dog
I was about 4 months old when Brady won his forts super bowl and now I am turning 19 here in a couple months crazy
I remember I lived in Boston when this happened this was on of my favorite sports memory’s with Boise states fiesta bowl and Larry birds game wining steal in the garden to beat the pistons. and on top of the patriots wining they won after 9/11 Americas team the team of red white and blue won after the worst attack since Pearl Harbor just the best story in nfl history
Loved how Terry said Paul Tagilabue with his Louisiana accent
And this was the beginning of a power franchise
Greatest day of my football life at the age of 10.
At the age of 22, but yup.
I was the same age too. Who knew the Pats were just starting in this moment
Little did anyone know
I'm a Surette too, was 8 when I witnessed this, seeing the footage makes me feel old.
Thank you Bill!
Just listening to them talk about Brady is UNREAL
And a dynasty was born…as for the rams the downfall and the return to LA
RIP John and Pat
Damn bill became a grumpy old man
My dsd when Brady became the starter: WHO THE FUCK IS TOM BRADY?! THERE GOES THE SEASON!
Incredible Run 🎉
Soon to be 8
RIP John Madden. This was his last game.
In fact it was Pat Summerall last superbowl
Yes and it was Madden’s last NFL game on Fox, and following the game, he moved to ABC for the 2002 season and called the Super Bowl that same year between the Raiders and Buccaneers.
Madden's last game was Super Bowl XLIII, Pittsburgh over Arizona.
I love vids like this the after game celebration
Lots more on my channel !
Astoundingly, this was Belichick's **third** Super Bowl win.
First as a head coach.
When he was defensive coordinator for the giants

I was only 2 years old at the time so I don’t really remember seeing this live, but my father was in the family room and when the kick was good he literally said, “We won the fucking Super Bowl”. Meanwhile on the next street over from my house, there was a mini parade going on with Patriots flags and noise makers. Who knew that this win would lead to five more Super Bowl victories over a twenty year span.
Tom Brady & Bill Belichick The GOATS 🐐
nope, just Brady.
The Niece Brady refers to is the Girl who plays Softball for UCLA I believe. Crazy how long it’s been.
Maya yep
That’s what I was wondering! That’s crazy, time flies!
Robert Kraft guaranteed has a shrine dedicated to Tom Brady. I guarantee you this dude does a pagan ritual before he goes to bed to give thanks to TB12 every night.
Also to this day there are still two seconds left in this game
They ran the clock off. I always said this too smh
Ha ha, they did run it down quick. Not that it would’ve mattered, though.
Have one question: Who's a more competent Commissioner, Taglibue or Goddell?
@@brandonmorris92
Tagliabue, a thousand times Tagliabue

Someone Tell #12 That's He Wins 7 Super Bowls
6 Super Bowls for the patriots then Brady have buccaneers the first super bowl since 2002
4:06 Was that Bill saying "that's gotta be Vinatieri, huh"? (Was he talking for MVP?)
I was in the minority think Tom Brady was the best an all time until around 2015. People would sperg out on me for saying Tom Brady was better than Peyton Manning. People are insane.
Me too!
Now all my friends agree and reminisce on years when we used to argue.
Sorry long rant incoming but Brady is not the greatest of all time plain and simple. In only one or two years in his career has he been the QB in that year. Peyton was better and then Cam Newton/Rogers was better and now it's just Rogers. Tom Brady has always had amazing teams behind him he has had great receivers and outstanding defenses. Notice how the Patriots are now still good without Brady so it's more about the defense and the coach. Also people talk about how he won with the bucs and is undeniably the best but it's the same story with them too they had an outstanding defense. The only reason he has been breaking all these records this season is because he is passing people who have played 3+ years less than him
@@nicknackau hey man I am a lifelong packers fan so I like what you’re saying.
Brady's the best, most poised in big moments, also rallies his team and holds together a locker room better than all of those other QBs you mentioned combined, I am a KC Chiefs fan for 30 years, and Brady been beating us up for many of those years, but there is no doubt in my mind TB is the best ever. its not just about numbers (and he has them all too by the way). Brady simply lives in the Super Bowl and rarely comes out to peek outside.

Nice to see Brady whooping it up with Bledsoe; Brady may have taken over, but it was Bledsoe's tenure that had lifted the Patriots from obscurity, at least somewhat. Not to mention, it was Bledsoe that stepped up for the AFC title game that year.
Bledsoe was crap, don't get it twisted. Bledsoe nothing to do w the greatness Brady brought to NE.
*my little niece maya*
2021 he says she's the best athlete in the family now 😆
I just realized they let the clock run all the way down
I don't want to hear any Raiders fans whine about the Tuck Rule. Remember the phantom roughing the passer call in the 76 playoffs that saved the Raiders season. Also the Tuck Rule went AGAINST the Patriots earlier that season against the Jets!
I wonder if Brady still has that Escalade 😂😂

@@theeusthenopteron6483 bummer. Thank you though
but whats up with that game clock?
This was the start of the doom of the pro football world
For real💀
1:30 The producer in the truck cut quick from the replay of the kick cause he saw that there should have been 2 seconds left and the Pats woulda had to kickoff
My guy they wouldn’t have been trying with those seconds it would have been like Ted ginn taking out the punt
@@youarebaf8398 Not disagreeing with you AT ALL, but the clock clearly showed 2 seconds…now the NFL had a rule that said a field goal attempt under 10 seconds could possibly end the game because of the lack of technology back in the 70s…they amended the rule to make sure only 4 or 5 seconds can run off the clock on a FG attempt. Hence why so many dumb waste of time kickoffs with :01 seconds left
And I am a Patriots fan who was 7 years old when this game happened and I was busy jumping up and down screaming in ecstasy and hugging my dad when the scoreboard made the noise and showed Patriots 20 Rams 17 and the clock hadn’t hit 0:00 until 2 seconds after the kick was completed
Lmao at 10:25 telling brady to change the car to yellow cause they were making fun of his yellow jeep. Always wondered why someone said that until bledsoe on the brady roast making fun of his jeep.

In a parallel universe Vinateri starts celebrating as soon as he kicks it but he just barely kicks it short and looks like a tool. So instead of being the greatest kicker ever, he’s a clown
And in another it deflects and travels all the way over to the other side for an own goal, and as a result is witch hunted out of NE.
