Love that moment with Brady and Bledsoe at the end where Tom slaps Drew's pads with that huge smile while excitedly shouting "WE DID IT!". Tom knew that had Drew not done such an amazing job taking over for him in the AFC championship game, the Pats probably wouldn't have made it to that Super Bowl, just another reason why Tom Brady is regarded as one of the best, his humility and gratitude for his teammates is arguably unmatched.
this was the beginning of a legendary journey for tom brady. he showed tremendous poise, especially when he put his team in position to win the game with a field goal.
For the younger fans watching this who do not know/remember: The Rams were favored -14 in this game (meaning they were favored to win by two touchdowns). At halftime with New England leading 14-3 we were all in shock. The Rams had not been dominated like that all season, much less the previous two seasons as well. You can give props to Belichick and the Patriots’ gameplan, but the deciding factor in the victory was their ability to get to Kurt Warner, who was either hit or scrambling for much of the game. The Rams were never the same. The Marc Bulger era in St. Louis started next season I believe.

Still get chills. Being a Pats fan while living in St Louis even better. I want to thank the cop on 270 who flashed his spotlight in my window as a warning while excitedly talking to my brother back home for not pulling me over.
I remember watching this game back then as a Rams fan, I thought patriots was about to be blown out...the world didn’t even know who Brady was...shit crazy
I'll never forget this game, first Pats superbowl and watched it with my brothers, dad and a few of his lifelong friends. Some are gone now but those memories aren't. That pats Defense was so good and physical. That first rams touchdown the patriots dropped 2 interceptions in the end zone and had a 98 yard TD on a fumble called back. What a game and this kicked off the greatest run in football history. We'll never see that type of sustained success again.
Not many things give me goosebumps and bring tears to my eyes, but this does, every time. Thanks Mr. Kraft I met him before a Broncos game when I was like 15. He talked with me and my dad for a good 10 minutes, and I think he was just surprised I recognized him. Still have the football he signed for me too. Fan for life Bledsoe will always be a favorite of mine too. He could have wrecked the season if he wasn’t such a class act. And we only got to this game because we had him. Brady is Brady, but Drew deserved a lot of the credit after what happened in Pittsburgh What a game though…. Thanks!
Welp we gotta 2 rematches in a row. Really cool. I ain’t a pats fan (seahawks fan here) but god damn they most of the time bring great Super Bowls (yes even 49, might sound weird but that’s one of my favs)
Belichicks gameplan was genius and trusting his “ rookie” QB to play and to win it with 1:30 left, is unmatched. No other coach in NFL history would’ve done that, they ALL would’ve played for OT. Belichick 8 rings..LETS GOO
Yeah cuz they weren't always making the AFC title game and winning a gajillion super bowls yet. Everyone loves an underdog who's ringless trying to go for their first one
I remember watching this game, I was 7 years old & Marshall Faulk was my favorite player back then & I remember just crying real hard at the end of the game because “Marshall’s team lost”😂
I've been there my 1985 pats made the superbowl and got killed by the bears 1 of the best teams ever I was 11 years old and crushed . The packers beat us in a close superbowl years later . But then this game . I cried for a different reason .
I'm 35 now, but I was 17 when that season started. I remember Bledsoe going down, and the Patriots being written off (not they were doing all that great to begin with). That was the year 9/11 happened as well, and the Diamonbacks just beat the Yankees in an epic 7-game series (robbing NYers of some solace). Brady was mainly a game manager that season and it worked. I rooted for the Raiders and the Rams that year, and the boy delievered for the Pats....smh Prob. one of the biggest upsets in nfl history. Props to Bledsoe for keeping their season alive against the Steelers.
Last Super Bowl of Madden/Summerall (RiP) Birth of the Patriots dynasty Last Super Bowl of the old conference alignment. Super Bowl 36 was one of the most impactful in NFL history.
I never forget this game! I'm from the Boston area,I was in Tucson at a jewelry show. There was a SB party in the hotels concession room ! My teams first SB win. I even won $300 on a square> Go Pats
This game is such a treat. I've been conditioned for so long now to expect a penalty every time a big play or big hit happens. This is just football. That pick 6 by Ty Law would've gotten called back today because illegal hit to the head by Vrabel. But you know what I'm fine with it. The more rules there are, the more you leave it to interpretation of the onfield ref to make a subjective call which leaves to more controversy. And I'm so pleased with the commentary. They just call the game as they see it. Now every play by play/color man has to have their own view and opinion of the officiating and the coaching decisions after every play. Oh idk Joe, I wouldn't have called a timeout there and save it for after 3rd down, when the sun set just a little more and the temperature dropped by a half degree to allow the ball to travel the air at quicker rate. Blow me.
It was supposedly putting Marshall on kick returns, the Rams “evidence” is that when Marshall went back to return it, the Patriots kicked away from him. This makes zero sense and the Patriots probably just saw that a former league MVP was back to return the kick and said “ya we’re not kicking to him”
Brady’s final drive always over shadows the fact that the rams came back after being down by 14 points in the 4th quarter. Truly remarkable. I think the only other times a team has overcome a ten point deficit or more in the 4th quarter of a Super Bowl is the patriots against Seattle and obviously the Falcons haha
Today (12 February 2023) is Super Bowl LXVII and right, can’t believe we’re here as the Eagles & Chiefs will play! It’s unfortunate Tom Brady retired for the second (& final time?), but new legends will rise today.
@@johnconnor1572 and yet Peyton Manning was caught using PEDs while the was no concrete evidence that Brady did anything during Deflategate lame excuses are lame
In all fairness not to take anything away from coach Belichick but they stole the rams films that the rams had prepared for this game that's the reason the Pat's were able to slow down the greatest show on turf and literally knew basically every play that was being called! Google it remember seeing on the news and I was just child then but this rams team was by far the most explosive offense I've ever seen the game before this they beat the packers 17 to 45 and the packers never lost a game in a dome stadium prior.

I once saw a goose it had real goosebumps! Tried to cover with a blanket, but this goose ran/flew to a lake, got lost with other geese. I stood with a blue blanket, took a look for that goose, but it got lost in this flock. What would have done, I can loan you my blue blanket!
And now he’s just won his 7th ring 🐐
Still get chills watching this. Don't worry pats nation, we'll get back there some day
I remember this game fondly. First NFL game I have ever watched when we attended my Uncles Super Bowl cookout. It was definitely a wild year the world was for an 8 year old.
Still get chills. Being a Pats fan while living in St Louis even better. I want to thank the cop on 270 who flashed his spotlight in my window as a warning while excitedly talking to my brother back home for not pulling me over.
How clutch can you be with 1:00 possession left on the clock in your first SuperBowl, in your first season as a starter in the NFL... GOAT. Period.
We might with the Chiefs. Going for first ever SB 3peat next season.
Not many things give me goosebumps and bring tears to my eyes, but this does, every time.
Thanks Mr. Kraft
I met him before a Broncos game when I was like 15. He talked with me and my dad for a good 10 minutes, and I think he was just surprised I recognized him. Still have the football he signed for me too.
Fan for life
Bledsoe will always be a favorite of mine too. He could have wrecked the season if he wasn’t such a class act. And we only got to this game because we had him. Brady is Brady, but Drew deserved a lot of the credit after what happened in Pittsburgh
What a game though…. Thanks!
That throw to Patten was a thing of beauty.
Welp we gotta 2 rematches in a row. Really cool. I ain’t a pats fan (seahawks fan here) but god damn they most of the time bring great Super Bowls (yes even 49, might sound weird but that’s one of my favs)
DZsquid what’s good, also a Seahawks fan here
49ers fan here. Good game but I ate you guys. Honestly not as much as Bears fans though. They are the biggest assholes on the planet.
Y'all should've handed the ball to Marshawn Lynch
forman208 not giving the ball to frank gore was the original why didn’t you run the ball lol
Yeah I'm a Packers fan and that 2014 NFC championship game still gives me nightmares to thia day
Who else here in anticipation for SB LIII? Go Pats!
Belichicks gameplan was genius and trusting his “ rookie” QB to play and to win it with 1:30 left, is unmatched.
No other coach in NFL history would’ve done that, they ALL would’ve played for OT.
Belichick 8 rings..LETS GOO
Tom Brady and Belichick are just THE BEST
With brady
Best cheaters....
2 cheaters that’s forsure
The best cheaters of all time. For sure.
Back when everybody loves the Patriots and Tom Brady
Pancak3s12 til 2006
then they won too many times. people don't like a winner.
Yeah cuz they weren't always making the AFC title game and winning a gajillion super bowls yet. Everyone loves an underdog who's ringless trying to go for their first one
@@tomy5868 , Yeah I see the same thing already starting with mahomes after his 3rd year.
@@lucidcactus4042 I Agree With Both Of You!
I remember watching this game, I was 7 years old & Marshall Faulk was my favorite player back then & I remember just crying real hard at the end of the game because “Marshall’s team lost”😂
WTF this was me too. I had a 28 jersey on (from MN) watching the game, but I loved him. That's great
I've been there my 1985 pats made the superbowl and got killed by the bears 1 of the best teams ever I was 11 years old and crushed . The packers beat us in a close superbowl years later . But then this game . I cried for a different reason .
Ironic that this game was in New Orleans, the team the rams beat to get to the super bowl this year
the rams "beat"
Space Ace yes, hence why they are in the super bowl, we all the refs fucked up but the rams still won, nothing changes that fact
@@jessiegandhi4340 I'm not even a saints fan but that whole fiasco really makes the Superbowl feel illegitimate to me is all
@@space_acee Then the Saints super bowl win was illegitimate too then.
Space Ace you’ll foget about it in couple months
Tom just retired, I had to come watch this. Legend!
And now BB is leaving :(
That’s why I’m here now
Last Super Bowl of Madden/Summerall (RiP)
Birth of the Patriots dynasty
Last Super Bowl of the old conference alignment.
Super Bowl 36 was one of the most impactful in NFL history.
Oh yeah I remember them as announcers Are they still alive?
@@arnoldgarzajr1164no john madden died recently
What Tom Brady just did gives me goosebumps... RIP Madden
Brady almost a rookie but 1 minute at the clock, last run down the field, good night opponent!
Didn’t change till today! 😂😂😂
Blow me.
Insane how much tougher the game was back then in terms of tackling
I have to say, I love how it was Ricky Proehl who tied it up in both Rams and Panthers superbowls. I always thought that was cool.
The 2001 Team was fortunate to get the #2 seed but I give them tremendous credit; they took advantage💪🏼
Watched this game a few rimes now, I still can't locate the two magical unstoppable plays Marshall Faulk claims they had no business stopping.
It's about to be SB 57 and Tom is still playing. Let that marinate.
Today (12 February 2023) is Super Bowl LXVII and right, can’t believe we’re here as the Eagles & Chiefs will play! It’s unfortunate Tom Brady retired for the second (& final time?), but new legends will rise today.
The GOAT always gets the job done
@@provisionalhypothesis That's ok, Brady 6 Super Bowl wins. Manning brothers 4.
And manning brothers didnt need to cheat...
@@johnconnor1572 and yet Peyton Manning was caught using PEDs while the was no concrete evidence that Brady did anything during Deflategate lame excuses are lame
10 Super Bowls later.... 7 Super Bowls won . Fucking GOAT
Great game.. we almost tore the house.down when Vinitary hit that kick
Wow 🤩 what a game!
What a memory!!
I love that Tom is still headbutting people today. xD
Marshall Faulk is still crying about this loss to this day and I love it.
10:50 the NFL refs were protecting Faulk with this ticky-tack call that gave Rams a chance.
He ain't still crying about this play you've been watching old video thinking it current
Lol it's too bad their fan base went from Missouri to cali... I qould hate to be a rams fan especially if I was in st Louis or Missouri lol
@@stevenjohn9665 No they didn't. That never happened.
Who else is here when he just signed with the buccaneers and now the dynasty is over
Edit: This actually aged well lots of people in the replies said it wasnt over yet
i hope you eat those words
plus, you cant change 6 SB
VenomPwnage Cam Newton anyone?
@VenomPwnage 2-Rams 1-Panthers 1-Eagles 1-Falcons 1-Seahawks
VenomPwnage there was another one with the eagles and then the seahawks
Pat Sumerrall looks so excited!! OMG! So contagious !!
Thank for the memories Tom. We´re gonna miss you :(
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!
Brady been at it so long his first three Superbowls all came in a completely different era
The TB12 Dynasty started here & Continues in TB, land of Sunshine, Rainbows & Unicorns & SB Victories
This was the earliest football game i can remember watching. I know i watched others, but i distinctively remember and wanting the Patriots to win. Whod think years later theyd be my most hated team
The Patriots defensive game plan against that Rams offense is nothing but brilliance. The Rams offense was beat up all though out that game.
I've been checking every day for you to put this Super Bowl up on this channel. I hope you are able to keep doing it for all the Super Bowls and other classic games
There will be more classic Super Bowls this week!
Looks so retro
Well it is.
Who’s here for John madden, RIP 😩
Damn.. I miss this era of the NFL
Man, the Pats had their hands on SO many near interceptions, and fumble recoveries - this was extremely close to a blow out. One of the more astonishing defensive performances in Super Bowl history.
