- In this powerful talk, climate advocacy insider, Jamie Beck Alexander, reveals the reality behind corporate and nonprofit efforts to combat climate crisis. Discover how the quest for funding and power can obscure the truth and hinder genuine progress. Jamie challenges us to demand transparency, accountability, and courage from leaders and ourselves, pushing for real solutions to the climate emergency. She asks, “What you are willing to risk to save our planet?” Jamie is a climate activist and creator of Undercurrent, a network of stealth actors across business, finance, law, journalism, activism and politics that works to tilt climate-critical decisions toward a livable world. Previously, Jamie founded Drawdown Labs at Project Drawdown which helped to push the boundaries of corporate climate action. Her TEDx talk "No matter where we work, every job is a climate job now" helped accelerate the green jobs transition, and ushered in a wave of employee climate activism inside influential companies. Jamie has been a guest on popular news outlets to discuss climate change including CNN, The Weather Channel, Al Jazeera and NPR, and her writing has been featured in CNN Opinion and Fast Company. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
