Lead singer is Daniel Johns. Probably about 18yo here. You reacted to him singing After all these years solo a while ago. They were huge in the 90’’s and this is from their first album they recorded when they were 14-15yo.

When they were around 16 they performed on the annex of radio music hall in N.Y.C for either the grammy's or MTV awards. That is an amazing clip and shows how talented they were at such a young age.

I didn’t click with Silverchair’s early pure grunge, but the third album, Neon Ballroom had a deep, profound impact on me. Daniel John’s is a musical genius. He no longer performs and he is unfortunately having mental health and legal troubles at the moment, but his impact on Australian music over the last 3 decades has been profound.

Agreed, it's sad about Daniel but he was always a bit off the scale. The Neon Ballroom was fantstic and I feel their best work before Daniel did the "Disociatives", which was not that great in my opinion with the Paul Mac influence and I think put an end to Silverchair at that time.

Daniel was loved on the stage by strangers but hated back home on the streets. Dealt with an eating disorder and some other physical things like arthritis if I remember correctly. Paid a physical and emotional price for fame.
I just enjoy the music those 3 made. When I hear about his troubles, I just brush it off. We all have struggles and he has his. What helped me with my issues was getting lost in music, and silverchair was one of the bands I enjoyed. Hopefully he has his ways of disconnecting and healing.

Finally you have found Silverchair and one of Australia's best front men Daniel Johns. So much to unpack about these guys it's probably worth a decent Google search. Daniel Johns is a very interesting character with a unique and talented voice but has had quite the full on life of ups and downs. Also was married to Natalie Imbruglia (torn). Hope to hear many more reactions on Silverchair

This band was Nicknamed Baby Nirvana for a while around there hometown Newcastle NSW. They go from Grunge/Punk/Metal to almost operatic/grunge and anything imbetween. The lead singer Daniel Johns has had an interesting solo career which showcases the amazing versatility of his voice. Interesting fact, a lawyer in the US once tried to used the bands lyrics from Israel's Son for committing murder. The judge kicked that case to the curb saying they did it for the money.

Went from being worldwide stalked by a woman while on the road(someone posing as his mum and following the band around 3 countries), to being back home and bashed whenever seen on the street.
