If you want to call it a quadricycle then they could've at least added headrests and airbags and make it more stable but I understand that such additions would add to the cost but I would think that buying a 2nd hand car would be better value than this pile of garbage

Yes This is much safer when compared to a tuk tuk . It was meant to be used in a city. Not in a race course. You guys are brilliant in reviewing it this way.
It’s far too expensive to be a rickshaw. It’s cheaper to buy a used Suzuki than to buy this. And a Suzuki will give you power windows, Air con, better comfort and slightly better safety.

In India it is popular as last mile commercial transportation. It is safer than the autorickshaw/tuk tuks and has better weather protection. Low total cost of ownership, good fuel efficiency, ground clearance and compact dimensions are its USP. We still don't get 3 point rear seat belt here in India ! Review made me laugh quite a lot. This vehicle(Bajaj qute) is designed to be a direct competition with TATA Magic iris& Mahindra jeeto van. Bajaj is one of the top motorcycle Company in the world. TATA& Mahindra Dont required any introduction.
Maybe an alternative to a golf cart for estate security or some similar environment but on the public roads this is just not something people should use.
They should have made the car height lower to reduce the center of gravity. Its too top-heavy. the intended demographic of this vehicle (varsity clowns, coffee boys (a.k.a "interns"), juveniles (aka "teenagers"), etc) simply won't have the discipline and driving experience to drive this thing safely. Heck, the fact that it is legally a motorcycle unfortunately means even little teenagers can drive this coffin.

We have them in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. They are used for passengers just as auto-rickshaws(tuk-tuks), they also park in the same places, they are used in highways just as other cars. FUN FACT: Auto-rickshaws are all called BAJAJ in here, all of them from all makers.
I can see a fleet of these things standing at a backyard mechanic's place in the townships having their engines replaced with a 650cc Kawasaki Ninja engine... . . At least no one will hijack you in that thing.

It reminds me of a cross between a Trabant and a Reliant Robbin. And the Robbin was known for landing on it's side more than a few times. As for a licence for this thing. What type do you need and are you also forced to get a PDP like with Tuk-Tuks?

Well, It's not strange for car enthusiasts to critique this kit like this. I own the predecessor of this from India TATA NANO. With all its shortfalls I love IT. By no stretch of the imagination, I am not saying it's the safest car or the fastest. I wanted to get my wife out of a scooter and she needed a vehicle that can drive her home from work not getting wet. And this was the cheapest cabin available in a waterproof condition. And to your surprise, it did what we set out for. TATA NANO XTA has A/C, Power steering, Power break, front power windows, Bluetooth stereo, and AMT automatic transmission which does a pretty good job. The safety factor was "0" and I wanted to sell it and get a Datsun redi-GO which has a safer body. My wife said NO! my Fater too, Apparently it had more space and was easy for a senior citizen to get in and get out (they hate to travel in my car :( ). And she gets parking where nobody gets one!. Living in a city where the average speed is less than 29kM/hr I said screw the safety. My advice, suit your car to where you drive and how can you drive.
I would like to know why this deemed to be safer than a LHD car, quite frankly it is not. I cant bring in a LHD Corvette to use for 2 weekends a month but these can be sold to be used every single day.....amazing really amazing.
It would have been a crime. By the were clever and decided to have it classified as a motorcycle instead of a car. So since motorcycles are not expected to meet the same safety requirements as cars, it means they can get away with selling a car like this. But at least they did the right thing by not trying to lie to customers about its safety. If you buy this car, you will do so knowing that its not safe.
But this Bajaj is amazing a bit like the Piaggio 3 cycle but with 4 wheels. If it were a 1 Cyl Diesel it would be an enormous hit here in North Africa as a mini pickup version.
Go and tell that to the fat girls on the N2 in the fast lane, doing forty. In there brand new company Jeeps or Corollas. Or the Avanza taxis with 12 passengers.
Get a Cooper Mini if you want a real small car. The drawback - its not really meant for out of town trips. If you use it on local roads, its serviceable.

I think it is perfect for jam packed streets and bumper to bumper traffic. The review should be on a busy street not a race course.

Well, It's not strange for car enthusiasts to critique this kit like this. I own the predecessor of this from India TATA NANO. With all its shortfalls I love IT. By no stretch of the imagination, I am not saying it's the safest car or the fastest. I wanted to get my wife out of a scooter and she needed a vehicle that can drive her home from work not getting wet. And this was the cheapest cabin available in a waterproof condition. And to your surprise, it did what we set out for. TATA NANO XTA has A/C, Power steering, Power break, front power windows, Bluetooth stereo, and AMT automatic transmission which does a pretty good job. The safety factor was "0" and I wanted to sell it and get a Datsun redi-GO which has a safer body. My wife said NO! my Fater too, Apparently it had more space and was easy for a senior citizen to get in and get out (they hate to travel in my car :( ). And she gets parking where nobody gets one!. Living in a city where the average speed is less than 29kM/hr I said screw the safety. My advice, suit your car to where you drive and how can you drive.
I would like to know why this deemed to be safer than a LHD car, quite frankly it is not. I cant bring in a LHD Corvette to use for 2 weekends a month but these can be sold to be used every single day.....amazing really amazing.
Government doesn't care about you, they only care about tax they'll be getting on sales of this Bajaj than your used Corvette.

It should be a crime to have such a car on the market.
It would have been a crime. By the were clever and decided to have it classified as a motorcycle instead of a car. So since motorcycles are not expected to meet the same safety requirements as cars, it means they can get away with selling a car like this.
But at least they did the right thing by not trying to lie to customers about its safety. If you buy this car, you will do so knowing that its not safe.

But this Bajaj is amazing a bit like the Piaggio 3 cycle but with 4 wheels. If it were a 1 Cyl Diesel it would be an enormous hit here in North Africa as a mini pickup version.

Go and tell that to the fat girls on the N2 in the fast lane, doing forty. In there brand new company Jeeps or Corollas. Or the Avanza taxis with 12 passengers.
Get a Cooper Mini if you want a real small car. The drawback - its not really meant for out of town trips.
If you use it on local roads, its serviceable.
I bough a second hand 2007 Toyota Yaris four cylinder for only R40 000 in 2017 , till now It driving like a Cham, Imagine I'm driving from Gauteng to Durban then Cape Town Every two Months to see my family...
