Their only response to positive disruption is violence, not "what can we do to better our industry to match the changing times". just shows what their mindset is like
I support the fact that it must not be allowed in this country. Maybe they must use it Uber eats or food delivery but even then my food will arrive cold.
If the fast food industry had the taxi owners mentality and the park guys's mentality, KFC, Nando and the other big player would be torching their competition
I nearly spat my food out twice. The first was when the taxi association clown said there are laws that must be obeyed then the king clown from the traffic dept who saw these cars arent fit for passengers. Clearly he hasnt seen the mini bus taxis that litter south africa and now he wants to claim these little cars are worse.
Taxi associations are out of order, competition is not a crime & the competition commission should really investigate taxi associations. A TUT student was killed by taxi drivers & we still have yet to see justice for him.
Only in the anc police could you get this logic A brand new vehicle that is confined to one passenger, short distances and 40km/h is very unsafe. It's better to use a lawless, unroadworthy taxi that speeds thru red robots, drives on side walks and cuts in at robots. Once again, where would we be without the anc.
It is perplexing to observe a sense of entitlement among certain taxi drivers in South Africa. There is a notable concern regarding the roadworthiness of some taxis, which contributes to a significant number of fatalities on the roads. Addressing these issues is crucial for the safety and well-being of the public.
I saw one on N1 the other day with maximum speed is 70km/h. E-hailing service are quick to forget that they were on the same spot bullied by the taxi industry as well.
The ehailing industry opened a market for these "vehicles" by refusing to take short distance requests. I know their reasons was due to not making enough money, but that's the reality. Ehailing has become unreliable with requests below 5km, by cancelling your trip, not showing up or refusing your request from the get go. This does not effect the taxi industry like they make out that it does... taxis have access to roads and the amount of people that these "vehicles" can simply not do. As far as safety is concerned. Yes i would question how these vehicles hold up compared to the known vehicle brands...
The logic here is simple. It's like Spar going and damaging Checkers' property because they offer cheaper prices and then saying "We did it because nobody told us we live in a Capitalistic/Mixed economy". This is why South Africa is the way it is - one big joke.
some of these taxi drivers and operators come from kzn to gauteng with their nonsense mentality. Government does not have to announce any bussiness. We need a government that will force fully arrest these taxi operators with out trial
I wonder why these drivers are being attacked. People complain of no jobs and tough economic situations and some are trying to just put food their tables, feed and educate their children and a roof over their heads and some are attacking them... does it make sense? These people should visit other African countries to see how people are getting by and no one is killing another...
The problem is, taxi owners and operators dont like competition. We as the public have the right to choose not to use the minibus taxis, which themselves are a danger to the public.
I invest in balloon tyres, upgrade to a bigger engine(that can fit),proper shock absorbers and a mini sub woofer and I use it at the farm to get around,
Its disappointing how the government has failed these individuals and many before them. Its clear that every business in this country is fair game except when it competes with the taxi industry. These so called associations make their own rules, create their own routes, decide what we must pay and the so called government is nowhere to be found
You'd either need to be very brave or have a death wish (both?) to become an e-hailing driver in South Africa. Especially in a vehicle that can be tipped over by a couple of angry taxi drivers.
I think it's time to ban Minibus Taxis completely... Not really an ideal option but why must they be consulted? Taxi associations are nothing more then criminal organization...
@@sillimilli3802 I know... And honestly I think they have the potential to really help the economy... Just tired of seeing soamy drivers drive carelessly and then behave in this backward and antiquated way...
They are the safest motorcycle in the planet. By far safer than any three wheel mototaxi. They go up to 70 km an hour and are very easy to drive. You can stop truly fast due to their light weight and go off road without any problem. They are great vehicles.
The taxi industry just wants us to stay beholden to them. Regardless of how much customers struggle to get around What is batuka talking about saying ur creating a false opportunity? Because hou expose yourself to thuggery? Ths boy is mad. There would be enough money flowing if we could all afford to leave oir cars at home and use taxis. But the issue is we can't even get to the taxis. They literally only cater to one market. And its the biggest market. These ppl need to make roo Cry my beloved country. The biggest losers are the public
If someone wants to use the Qute for personal use, go for it. But when you start using it as public transport, then it's a problem because those Qutes are not safe at all. The South African government really needs to raise the safety standards of cars that are coming into the country. You can't have a car with 1 star roam our roads; they even go on highways
The passengers have the necessary power to put the whole industry to a halt, they increased fairs due to covid restrictions, then they broke the restrictions and pocketed the increase. if passengers simply did not ride the taxis, the price would have went back to normal. Ask yourself how many fatalities would there be in taxi accidents if the customers refused to get in a cab that is being driven recklessly, without seatbelts or unfit to be considered road worthy?
Are they covered by the RAF in an event of an accident? That’s the first question I’d like answered before letting my loved one into one of these coffins on wheels
Competition drives prices down and the taxi industry can't compete. However the issue goes back to unemployment due to the already low numbers of people commuting each year despite the growing number of competition of vehicles on the road so yeah violence instead of actually fixing the issue
I witnessed a neighbour from my complex waiting for a friend, and this yellow car almost made an accident with that car.. Just drove around the corner without seeing the car approaching to stop, and pick up his friend. I don't know if I'll use one. Maybe the strong winds we have recently will blow them over 😂
I have one and it is very stable. Large trucks had passed me by at high speed and I do not feel them. If a chofer is not capable of being a responsible driver, the problem is not the vehicle. I have gone off road, crossed some rivers with almost 30 cm depth and 3 to 4 meters wide. No problem. Drive on highways long distances. They are reliable and consume very little fuel. About 30 km per liter. Easy to maintain and can last a long time if you are a responsible driver and care for your unit.
This is one of the most unsafe vehicle you can be in. It’s an Indian car that must nit be allowed on our roads. Whoever has pocketed a bribe to let these dangerous cars be on our roads must return the money and kindly allow our children to be safe on our roads. On collision there’s no chance of survival. These cars are not compatible for Our type of fast driving in South Africa. They are too slow. Sometimes being slow is an accident hazard.
