- I have been told that a player did it with a laser guided bomb from F-14B at 13km and turned back after release, and tried to go away from 20km before the bomb hits the target and he got the achievement.
To be honest with you I had 2 successful strikes while doing this mission, and I'm not really sure which one of them completed the achievement. The other one was also with Walleye in American desert, the destroyed target was a Leopard tank at 20km but I don't remember where my aircraft was when the bomb hit the target, maybe positioning the plane out of 20km after drop is a way to cheese the mission? 😂

Anyway, the safest way to do it is with Walleye at 20km or more, and also keeping the plane out of 20km after drop until the impact moment.

I completed it also, tried doing it with Rocket assisted bombs in french tree, it didn't count, also tried with laser guided bombs but they no longer receive laser signal at that range and just go dumb. Ended up launching Walleye at like 15 and turning away.
I just tried it and got in the first try lol, also with the walleye, I released it at ~13km and just ran away

@@pingu_bobuk why dude, in a subsonic speed use CCIP\CCRP, and when supersonic you can drop it much much earlier.

One of the hardest things to achieving this achievement is getting far enough away from the map and not getting “return to battle”
@@bpop2148 you need to remember the maps, in general I play only maps with 6500m per square in air. I leave 3500m ones because I'm done with "return to battlefield" and I'm still in SPAA range.

I already got his achievement. I dropped a gbu with F14B at 13km and turned back and try to go away from 20km before bomb hits and it gave me achievement. I feel like I'm cheating

@@igor06991 That's what I understood later, however the achievement is not written well, 20km range strike must mean bomb should be released from the wing at a moment when the plane is 20km away or more from the target, not the plane is 20km away in the impact moment, anyway I did the achievement in this or maybe in the other strike that wasn't recorded. I wrote some clarifications in the pinned comment.
that is, my idea might not work? I don't have a tv gbu, so I wanted to drop a gbu with the tornado at 20km, and then fly with the gbu to guide it to the target..
I have been loving the skippers. Can easily launch from 10-12 km away and consistently hit the target
Bruh Ive been trying to get this achievement for so long... GBU's are the bane of my existence at this point.
try this one the su27sm or f15 as those planes go insanely fast, I think the kab 1500 be your best bet cause it massive and the su27 has a higher top IAS speed,
I tried this method yesterday with GBU-8 on F-16A. I fly at 5000 altitude with a speed 0.9 mach. I drop bomb at 23km. The bomb ballistic computer show me it will not make it but it hit the ground that it locked on. It's fun to play like this, Thank you for sharing 😊😊

@@haxmalper3633they should’ve added the A version before the amraam was added. Bc now they have to add both or American mains will be mad. The only version Finland uses is the C and if German gets a Swiss one. Itll also be a C variant. So if the US gets the F18A with AIM-7s and Finland/Germany get an F18C with AMRAAMS. US mains will be upset
@@garrettobrien5197 Gaijin is always late when it comes to when they need to add certain things, We shoulda got the F/A-18A a long time ago. At the same time we got the F-15C or F-16C.
Its really sad seeing Walleye bombs glide properly but Paveway IIs and AGM-123s dont at all like they should. The absolutely destroyed potential of the Paveway IIs and Skippers is depressing. Gliding bombs only glide if theyre TV guided apparently. Only above mach is also not correct but whatever, Gaijins reality is twisted.
i got this first try with the kurnass (not 2000) after watching this vid ahhaha, but i got lucky bc my team was scouting for me and i managed to get a bmp 2, also ive been having a ton of fun using the ayit and kurnass thanks to your vid that explained point locking. that is a game changer for mavericks, especially a variant. strelas still own me sometimes but now i can actually fight back, thanks hunter, youre a champion :D

I used the gbu15v2 on the barak, this was back before gaijin fixed rendering at distance so I found a Leo that was camping on a hill, flew 20km out, then dropped on that spot hoping he hadn't moved (he hadnt)

so fun fact, you don't need to be going that fast for the walleyes to go that far. I just got the achievement with the A4E early using the walleyes. when I spawned I did a 180 away from the battle field and at about 30 or so km it will respawn you back at the edge of the map. during that whole process I got to roughly 5000 to 6000 meters up and going anywhere from 600 to 700kph. dropping at 18 to 22km away and turning around after drop. it took all day but I was still able to do it going pretty slow. I wouldn't have gotten it with out this video. huge thanks man!
it was a bmp 3 that I destroyed
i also had a buddy helping me spot since it seems like I wasn't rendering tanks at that far consistently. some times they show some times they don't. oh well, who knows

I got this "achievement" before it was added. I was flying my Tornado ASSTA1 after watching YOUR video on CCIP bomb lobbing tactics. Pantsir had just released and was unbelievably OP at shutting down the air game. I scored a bomb kill on one from 23km (bomb was launched at beyond 20, I was at 23 when it impacted). When I then saw this achievement I went "Huh, guess it's new", then proceeded to use the Gripen and score 2 kills at beyond 20km with it and failed to get it.
You must be beyond 20km when the bomb impacts, in addition I found that dropping beyond 20km also helps secure the achievement. TLDR: your video literally birthed the "High altitude lob strikes" I mastered with the Tornado series CAS platforms.

I’ll get this achievement tonight. I can think of a pretty easy way to do this so long as they allow you to earn it in sim battles.
Already got this....this is what I told you on that F-16A video....I used the GBU-8 trying to take out the Pantsir instead I got Challenger 2
After that I got that exact award on Steam....
Now the developers are gonna nerf it. I mean, it's very important to the game developer that tankers don't suffer from airplanes... they're doing everything they can to make that happen.

I also did that with a Walleye! I dropped onto a spawn where multiple spaas were waiting for my phantom to get into their range.

That "Eye for eye" award means that the Ozelot killed him before. Imagine killing someone and then getting bombed from 25km away.
If I remember correctly, the game only cares about the distance when the kill happens, not when the bomb is released🧐

I applaud you. That's a very goofy achievement, but good practice to keep in mind the value of point mode targeting (same goes for last video). Do you think other nations have that potential on their armament?
Well, TV guided bombs are in general a U.S thing and the majority nerfed and become subsonic bombs, Israel has IR TV bomb but it is subsonic, and Russia has TV good bombs but they are subsonic as well. The only one that is left supersonic is Walleye on F-4E Phantom II. Even GBU-8 on F-16A is nerfed from super to subsonic drop speed.

I have the achievement but have no idea how I got it.
The most broken achivement is killing a plane with a cannon in sim battles, this thing is, you can use spaa. I got it with the zsu-23-4.
Seems like the achievement counts the distance to your aircraft only after the bomb hits. I dropped mine from around 15km, then afterburned 180° back. When it hit the target, I was more than 20km away and got the achievement.

about a year ago K2 kit krabiwe made a video called "МЕЖКОНТИНЕНТАЛЬНАЯ ШТУРМОВКА в #warthunder" where he managed to make a 33km kill with phantom from Egypt to Sinai

But also remember that physics and drop speed of guided bombs changed, it is now harder.

and some people still think that cas isnt op. some people can do this as low as 10.3 and atleas the german spaa there can only reach 8km and even then the missines are almost impossible to control at that distance
"cas isnt op" slings pinpoint accurate bomb WAY past any spaa range for a chance at multiple literally free from any ground harm kills. "cas isnt op" the ONLY counter to this is other cas lmao. for reference i am agreeing with you.

Ty hunter i finnaly got that achievments its was hard grind. I even failed 1 time despite killing pantsir in 25km range but ur aircraft has to be away from the target 20km or more but in the end i got it

the fact the game gives you an achievement for killing a ground target that has zero way to fight back other than cowering in a corner and praying regardless of what it is is very funny
Tornado GR.1 with PGM500s might also be a good option, they have excellent fm
PGM is counted as missile in WT, it won't do the achievement.
@@Hunter_i86 ah, might be true, gaijin cant settle on what they want those to be even. FM of a bomb, behaves like a missile, costs SP like a guided bomb but is indicated as AGM
i did this achievement by f-16 and gbu8
release bomb at 13km away from target(alt 5500m mach 1) and turn back to go away 20km

I finally unlocked the achievement after trying all afternoon, the Walleye is my new favorite guided bomb :3

I just recently got the Mirage 2000-5F and the D-R1 and when playing them in Ground RB I noticed I could use the laser guided bombs and the AS30Ls while going supersonic. I don't know if it's a bug but I could use them going as fast as mach 1.3
The Barak 2 is a good one for this, the GBU-15(V)2/B works very well for it.

@@Hunter_i86 yeah, I suppose it wouldn't work if you actually drop it from 20km but I did it by dropping from just over 10km and flying away to be over 20km by the time it hit. So I guess I cheesed it a bit lol
@@Adam2422 It is not you cheesed, the achievement wasn't written clearly. I knew from comments that the release moment doesn't have to be at 20km at all.
2 minutes of flight, wonder if you could manage to land in that time, imagine getting bombed, and then kill cam would just show you sitting on a runway xD

I have this from when the pantsir came out I used a walleye from 11,000m up in the air at near Mach from 20km and then turned away it took like a whole 3 mins to land but I don’t play on steam so I don’t have the steam achievement

Russians trying to cope that their UMPK kit is good so they added the achievement, it does seem pretty hard but as you showed, F-14 has no issue lobbing that far, just hard to get a target

I hate to see how gaijin makes an achievement to kill a player 20 km away. BUT EVEN ON 10 KM AWAY THE TARGET IS JUST NOT ON THE SCREEN, AND IT MAY BE EVEN CLOSER

Ive been thinking about going for this achievement for a bit now. Wouldnt it be easier to use laser guided bombs, so you could continue to guide it into a target instead of guessing? Also would this work with rocket assisted gbus like the pgm 2000? Its technically a gbu but you use the agm keybind to fire it, idk if it would count.
PGM is a missile in the game. Also read the pinned comment, I was confused about the mission then got some clarifications from friends in the comment section.

Better tutorial, this is a lot faster and easier to do all you need is a friend that plays warthunder and has this achievment.
1-Have a friend that has unlocked this achievment.
2-Kindly ask them for their warthunder login. (take the knees if you have to)
3-start warthunder from ur steam account
4-switch accounts inside of warthunder to ur friends
5- enjoy ur stolen achievments 😎

it's possible with the gbu-8 and the F-15A in a test battle but I havent tried it in a game yet.
iv been trying to get the doomsday achievement, iv dropped 3 nukes but the achievement still wont appear as completed :/
shame it requires guided bombs, did a 23km kill with the TV guided anti ship missile on the Bucc S2B at 10.3 lol (kill when i was away at 23km)

I mean there are other Aircraft with greater capability, like the Mirage 2K with boosted TV bombs
PGM is a missile in the game.
are there glide bombs? because last I played there were none in warthunder. you dont lase the target the entire flight. unless its GPS guided you only do it 15-20 seconds before impact.
