My least favorite event vehicle is either the IKV 73 or the LVT (A) (4). The turret traverse of the LVT is very annoying. IKV 73 is just very unoriginal for an event vehicle
As a owner of the Ikv 73 I can agree. It's just a Strv m/42 EH with an extra machinegun that has little to no use.

The LVT is okay, it's highly survivable at reserve tier simply due to its size
The problem with the orvel is the same as for the HSTVL namely that Gaijin uses the same damage model for all APFSDS between 25 and 76mm. Therefore, these guns have pretty terrible damage. If Gaijin adds a damage model for their kind of calibre it would be problem solved but until then...

I was prepared to argue when the 75 mm LVT came up, but you're right. I like it conceptually, but I tried playing it again recently and it's just useless.
Small note about the Rolls-Royce 40 mm cannon: The experimental Beaufighter is the only time it appears on an aircraft, but it's also in game as a naval gun on the stern of the MGB-61.

Ah yes, a Filipino P-26 Peashooter. Yes, we did have the things in WW2 and they were used extensively by Philippine Army Air Corps pilots against the Japanese during their invasion of the Philippines. Chief among them was then-Captain Jesus Villamor whose name is pretty much the stuff of legend in Philippine military aviation. The Philippine Air Force's main air base is named after him: Villamor Air Base and has received the Distinguished Service Cross twice, being the only Filipino to do so.

The buccaneer S.1 used to be extremely effective at grinding bases before they removed the air spawn. It really should be rank V, which would fix the issue and make it useful again.
Exactly, those 8x 1000lbs bombs can be split into destroying 2 bases. Which is great, it sets the team back a bit.

It is still a decent strike aircraft, the Buccaneer s2 is just a better aircraft but the s1 isn't extremely bad either
@@Rorywizz only problem is that by the time you get to the targest its either that enemy team is dead already and the games over or your team is dead and only thing you can do is vaseline your ass up because every enemy will have a raging erection for your booty
@@GuyInBlackClothes They cannot. The bombs on the wings and the bombs in the bay are different, 4 wing bombs will destroy a base, but it takes 5 of the bay bombs. You can only get 1 base by yourself while damaging another, though if you can RTB you can get 3 bases with two runs.

18:31 The Bucc S.1 was a very good aircraft, so good that I bought a talisman for it. You could typically strike bases and then run away before most enemies were up in the air, making it amazing for RP grinding. However they then removed its airspawn, making it usless in airrb
I also enjoyed the S.1, but I found that it has severe issues if certain aircraft are in the match with it, namely the G.91 R/4's, which are extremely popular, can catch the S.1 in a straight line and carry Aim 9B's, which makes the S.1's only real defence moot (it's speed), turn to avoid the missile, which if by some miracle you dodge with the high speed turning on it, at which point the G.91 will close any gap you had and will take you out, or attempt to outrun the missile (not happening). It's a literal lose-lose scenario.
The MiG-17AS is also problematic in this regard for similar reasons but isn't quite as powerful or common as the G.91.
I can see some people complaining about it being impossible to catch if it goes down in br, but considering its lack of proper offensive air to airs, mediocre maneuverability and the fact that it will eventually be caught by any MiG-17, G.91 or Sabre that chases after it, where it cannot maneuver well enough to survive and, unless you are quite skilled with hitting rockets and actually brought them in the first place, you won't be able to avoid death for long (unless your Smeagol, the lunatic).
And all this was formed on my playtime with it before it lost its airspawn... and they keep trying to increase its br to 9.0 (just because they changed how the points work for bombed bases - muh statistics)
If it was reduced in br a little bit it would see some better lineups, also, if it was 8.3 you could pair it with the first cheiftain as a decent cas option - still outdone by the G.91 R/4's which are still better than it in every way except absolute max load, but they aren't sitting ducks like the S.1.
One thing to note is that I haven't had a chance to use it in ground rb due to being just the br below with my ground vehicles, so I lack the a proper lineup for it, so personal experience on how good it is in ground is nonexistent.

I honestly think gift vehicles have killed “foldered” vehicles. None are hardly ever added, and those are optional, but accessible vehicles. Something like the American T29E3 heavy tank could be a folder to the T34.

My note on the Beaufighter is that with the two different AP rounds, it's common that each round will hit a tank in two different spots and knock out a psace out crew or engine much easier than two shells in one spot. Just my view of the armament.

@@simonduval8886 i didn’t pay that very often actually, normally I was able to stay away from the group, and even so normally the bombing of 2 bases can pretty much make up for it

A plus for #4 is... It's a German Half-track!!! The ubiquitous German Half-track that is always seen in War reels, movies ETC:! Anyway or by any means to get those in the game is well worth it in my opinion!!!
the number 1 looks actually really good. You forget to mention that the .50 cal can easily deal with lighter vehicles that try to get around you while the turret slowly turns to try and shoot them, either the .50 cal can disable their ability to move, or flat out destroy them. The LVT hull also is extremely spacious and thus makes it harder to kill than the normal M8 HMC. The hull also being fairly agile can help guide the turret towards the enemy with its traverse speed.
I personally don't own it, but that's how I would play it because I have a lot of fun with the M8 HMC, and this is just an M8 HMC with a bigger hull.
It’s a house to drive. I’d personally take the Stuart hull that would allow me to stay hidden than an amphibious boat house that is very easily spotted

The Buc s.1 ngl used to be better in air RB battles before the whole "nobody gets airspawn" as its top speed was it's only real saving. Once it gets up to speed very little things can catch you. Yet since you are now airfield bound you cant get to that speed as quick as you need
As a Filipino - it makes me sad that our P-26 comes in as a premium vehicle rather than an unlockable skin for the base model. Nonetheless I think there are options for adding the Phil. Air Force (PAF) Roundels on other vehicles now at least
Sadly you have to pay for it with 200 while other countries you don't need to.
1 aspect i have discovered in Ground rb about the PMB-3 is that by loading the naval mines instead of the 1000lb bombs killing camping enemies is easy. I just glide over the battlefield with it and in 1 out of 5 matches someone actually shoots at me. i honestly thought someone would see giant juicy plane num num but so far in my experience not many people take note of me for some reason.
I really liked the Buccaneer S.1 when I got it, but now it doesnt have an air spawn in air RB which fucks it over hard.
Like I used to be able to bomb 1,5 bases and usually manage to RTB to then do it again.

I spaded it after it was grounded and while it took some work I found as long as I stayed low and kept an eye on when the furball started I could actually make one or two passes because my straight-line speed was enough to buy me some time to get away or if the people on my side were paying attention use the maneuverability to buy some time until help arrived. I enjoyed spading it even after that change.
It's still cozy in sim but ye air rb it sucks
I recently bought the Ju-388 for 69 GJN (noice) and I have to say it's a pain to play since it has a poor climb rate which could easily be helped by giving it a bomber spawn (please Gaijin) but in SIM this plane is super fun for bomber hunting if you can get to the altitude and is super gratifying when you get a kill with it.
The only tanks I want now are the panther II, Tiger II (10.5cm Kwk), Flakpanzer 341, and the sturmtiger. I understand why the 3 Germany tanks where removed but if gaijin starts to add paper vehicles I would like to see those return. I just want to complete my collection. I really liked those vehicles and I got the game a year after they where removed.

Your ground forces videos for each nation was amazing. Do you think you could make an update video for each nation as they were released a few years ago. Lots of things have changed e.g. new tanks being added to research tree, new country merged into british tree.

Excuse me? I'd take a Panzer IIIE over ANY French, Italian or...urgh...Japanese 1.0 ANYDAY. The F and J are also solid vehicles.
Ikr, the B and E have great APHE that already lifts it above the early (especially original starting) French.
Your loss, I play Italian tanks specialized in M13/40 and I kill Pz. IIIs B and E easily, especially when I spot a B, I know I can one shot it. The F and J are in a completely different league, those have great guns that can one shot me and thick armour that I struggle to pen.
@@giovannifoulmouth7205 Italian tanks are slow, tall and have a huge ‘shoot me here’ front plate.
Armor is irrelevant in the game now anyway. What matters is speed and having a good enough gun which the panzers all have.

@@kirishima638 bruh the M13 has a top speed of 35 kph which is like what, just a little slower than the Pz. III and I strongly disagree that armor is irrelevant, in fact the great armor is one of M13's best assets and that is what allows me to survive for so long and win the Survivor award (5000 SL just for that one).
Lvt is genuinely good, it’s a low tier railgun and you can easily get kills with it using it as China
Interesting how in this game the standard inline engine in the IL-2 is more durable than the radial in the M82 version. IRL radials were favored for use cases that required more durability rather than better aerodynamics. Obviously radials aren’t invincible, but lacking a liquid coolant system is a benefit for resisting battle damage.

lvta4 is pretty good in close range. Huge empty chasse means absorbing a lot of damage, 75mm little howitzer loads pretty fast and delivers 80mm-ish pen. For derp gun players it's fun, but obviously most people hate low velocity guns.

I have the Buccaneer S.1. Bought it from the store due to having event coupons that i wouldn't use, and while i was disappointed in it as an Air RB aircraft, it excels at Ground RB later on, despite missiles.
It has gotten a little better due to being able to bring a custom loadout now, because it allows you to bring an internal-only payload, meaning it climbs a lot better, and maneuvers even better while still loaded. The airbrake is also amazing.
The main issue with it is.. the flapperons.

Fun fact the LVTA4 has a unique and annoying niche if you were so inclined, it has a 4 second reload and gets access to smoke rounds which the m8 does not, so if you are facing a heavily armored faction in a camp prone map you can usually just sit in your spawn lobbing smoke shells into popular camp spots.
I'm surprised the Su-8 didn't make the list. Yes it has great firepower but it flies like a bus and attracts every single AA and MG round the enemy has to lob at you.

Hey Oxy, i'm not sure if it's a bug or not but Sd.Kfz. 221 (that squeezy car) now seems can't move it's cannon to the right direction. Last time i touch this vehicle it was able to move its cannon to the right and left equally. Can you ask about it to gaijin? Thanks

The PBM-3 also gets a load of 8x 1,000lb magnetic mines, which are loaded with torpex, which is an EXTREMELY potent high explosive. They're essentially 1,500lb bombs that don't weigh you down as much. When dropped onto solid ground, they fuse like standard bombs. I occasionally try to take the Mariner out into ground RB, because those magnetic mines are really terrifyingly effective against tanks. It struggles getting them onto target sometimes because of how much it lumbers, but it has the potential to stop teams cold if they're positioned poorly.

The s.1 unless they recently changed it has better bombs on the wings, doing double the damage. It's a very nice bomber for rp and sl geinding

The only problem with that is that the S.2 has a higher total TNT payload with more smaller bombs meaning it can do more damage to more bases in air RB and hit more targets in GRB
@@STHV_ the wing bombs on the s.1 do double damage compared to the s.2 unless the changed it because it carries different bombs. The lower br also means slower enemy, less missiles so just a more casual run.

As both have guns offset from the cursor
It has the same playstyle ast the Ju-88 C-6 but at 4.3. Essentially you'll be facing planes with better aircraft with better pilots who'll be aware of how vulnerable a target your plane is.
I'm sorta surprised to see the LVT 4 make it onto the list. However I can see why you didn't have fun with it. I've found more fun with it in Arcade Battles as the horrible turret traverse is somewhat mitigated there, but I can understand it being rather awful if someone only plays Realistic.

You did a really good job of tearing apart the Buccaneer S.1, but you put it to some pretty fking poggers clips of you getting SEVERAL kills in one run with several ATGM hits in a row, seriously awesome, the contrast is so funny
Messing with number 10 in test flight, if you turn on "Vertical Targeting" in the option before the match, you will see a MUCH different result. These cannons are super powerful
Hi oxy! Great video. Can you make an updated version of your “rarest wt vehicles”?
The 388J *can* be very fun and "comfortable" to fly in sim battle. Not "easy" or "simple" As you stated it flies/pilots differently. But if you're completely comfortable with how to fly it *then* it becomes very relaxing to fly. It can happily intercept bombers trying to use altitude in their attempt to escape. Useful given I spend most of my time in it near the deck.
It certainly can perform in the ground attack roll vs lighter targets and is specifically comfortable there purely because of the angled guns. The MG 131's aren't fantastic but they certainly are useful for when getting chased.

I've had some pretty profitable games in the PBM 3 Mariner playing simulator battles as its bomb loads with the aerial mines is insane and the interceptors don't usually bother me if I climb at the edge of the map. It's maneuverability is much more pronounced in sim as you are able to both maneuver and shoot the gunners simultaneously, and, with some good eyes and practice, you can effectively dogfight aircraft with the Mariner in sim. I've taken it to jet tiers and successfully shot down plenty of aircraft in mine.

Loved the video! This suggestion would probably take a long time so you could totally put this off but id like to see a vid on the best event/prem vehicles in terms of bang for buck. Obviously there are some completely op vehicles out there on the market but some people also don’t want to pay 200 bucks for them lol!
One thing about the 388 though, is that there is a Do-17 in the tech tree that has a similar gun setup (the guns are angled downwards) so if you're proficient at that then its hardly a change
Both the LVT and the Phon T-34 were vehicles in the US and USSR trees, as you said. But then they were added as tech tree vehicles in China, so if you played all the event to get it years ago, now you get it for free, wich sucks for old players.
Same for the M8 Greyhound.

I actually enjoy the Ju-388J. It's big, it's slow, it's dorky, but *DAMN* when you get an air kill with it, you enjoy it.

At 20:43 I personally think the buccaneer s1 is fun to have around since it pairs up amazingly with the scimitar. Especially seeing how they don't share the same spawn cost since one is a fighter and one is an attacker, raining down 8 bullpup and 4 bombs can be a very heavy hit to an enemy team.

Get well Oxy. Your nation tech tree videos are always worth the wait...
In my experience the worst but one of the most fun event vehicles is the katayusha. It was usable before they removed its ability to move with the suspension angled down basically making it impossible to kill someone unless you are lying in wait since it takes a few seconds to set up. Really fun though and people are always excited to see it since barely anyone owns one.
What's your opinion on the G5 TKA 106?

I'd add the SU-76D somewhere in this list, probably in replacement of the Buccaneer S.1 since at least it's pretty good for CAS
the SU-76D is absurdly slow, has no armor and no turret, at least the gun is decent but I still completely regret claiming it and not selling the coupon for 1 or 2 GJN

Ever since I got my PBM-1, I had been wanting a more advanced variant, just hoping that gaijin would give us a PBM-3. Realizing now, that they had already given us one, and that I simply missed out on my dream plane, is really really painful. I would give anything for a PBM-3. Mariners are so delightful to fly around in, even if they're far from the best in combat.
oxy for your next video after the America trees Addendum your should talk about the new tanks that have been added since you uploaded these videos like update the lists talk about stuff like the puma, t-55AMD-1 the top tier Russia light tanks and many more. i guess i could all be one video or you cut them up into different episodes. up to you but honesty i would like your opinion on these tanks
the JU 388 is amazing at killing Heavy Bombers, as it keeps you protected when shooting at them due to the guns angle, so the Turrets on Bombers dont get a good angle on the Pilot.
