The RBT-5 in War Thunder is a VERY old Premium Event vehicle for the Russian Tech Tree. It's basically a BT-5 that has 2 absolutely MASSIVE 425mm rockets stuck to the roof. I had absolutely NO idea just how fun this tank would turn out to be.
The Rocket slash Land Torpedoes this tank fires are completely fixed in elevation so you have to be pretty inventive in how you use them. The good news is, anything in proximity to the TT-250 rockets from the BRT5 are very likely going to explode! :)
This is honestly the most I've ever laughed in a War Thunder video. EASILY!
I actually cannot believe how many people we got with this thing. Outstanding and well worth the $60!

What's funny is that he was technically right in calling them a torpedo as they did call these tank torpedoes (TT-250: Tank Torpedo, 250kg).

I think 400m is the minimum range, but you can shoot them further. Just need to scroll really much
Yes, range indicator is really low you have to scroll alot to it but you can adjust the range above 400m!

The MINIMUIM ranging for the rockets is 400, you can range for further than that. They tilt up at 9:26 when you turn around.
21:38 you're right on that actually. TT-250 in the name stands for "Tank Torpedo" basically, so it is, at least in the mind of whoever created it, a torpedo

The rockets on the RBT 5 can be height adjusted. So you could change how far they fly. (400m is the minimum)
I think you need to select the Rockets as the Main weapon, kinda like the BMP 3 and BMD 4 where the canon is the 2d weapon and the 30mm is the main armament

If you scroll WAAAYYY down the sight stadia you finally get to the range marks for the Tank Torpedo (that's what the TT stands for). It starts at 375 yards and goes up to about 1200 yards.

I was introduced to the RBT-5 when binging Many Miles Away's Unicorn guides years ago, and it was beyond glorious. MMA observed that the rockets are ridiculous overkill at the RBT-5's actual battle rating. His solution to this was to uptier it all the way into max tier games, because it turns out a TT-250 tank torpedo will slap the taste out of an MBT's mouth just as well as it will from a 1920's tank. This was highly difficult to pull off as every other aspect of the BT-5 is basically useless at top tier apart from its speed and stealthy size, but apparently it was not only hilarious, but _profitable._

I recently broke my bad luck streak with the loot crates and somehow acquired this thing from one. In my over decade long War Thunder career, this is one of the funniest vehicles to play and Gaijin gave it to me. I don't spend much on loot crates so that was pure Gaijin luck.
From what i remember, the RBT-5 rockets are aimable and even have a aim lines in sight you just have to scroll down enough. Shorthest range is like 250m for rockets.
They have their own ranging. It's just very far below the normal gun ranging. It's hilarious to get 800m shots when they're totally behind a mountain or something. Just glorious

Fun fact if you use your zeroing and go down really far for awhile you will eventually get to ranging for the rockets

When you play high tier, your game play often sounds closer to work than fun. You showcase the thing, you do some stuff, but it doesn't typically sound like you enjoy it. When you play low tier, it sounds like you're genuinely enjoying yourself and frankly, that makes the video far more enjoyable to watch if you ask me. would really love to see more low tier shennanigans from you. It makes for far more enjoyable videos.
RBT seems like a tank that would be fun to use at top tier. God mode everywhere.

Hi Bawz, i did little digging into rbt-5 and found out if you scroll enough, you have in scope mode effective scale for rocket up to 900 meters to scroll and most likely you could effectively snipe spawn with enough luck. and great videos you make, love them
To be fair the Conway has the weird ability to absorb shots around the mantlet... or at least it was doing that when I last tried it😂😂
(Rounds are still awful in terms of damage though so in that case it's still "painful")

That 18:45 moment, I think that summarizes the current state of HE in the game : underwhelming. IDK what they are thinking at gaijin, but I'm pretty sure 130kg of TNT is more than enough to atomize any tank at 5m, forget a direct hit
This could be high at 8.0-9.7 where things have start having less armor, but I'm glad to see you play it, I was laughing just as hard as you were XD

You can aim them. One way I use them is to back up on a building to raise my rear and get the bt to aim pretty much on top of you. It also refills on a cap really well

The Snail blessed me with one out of a crate years ago. I know I did get a rocket kill from a hella ways away before...I just can't remember the range, but I know it was further than 400m. It took a good several seconds to land on the other side of the map.

Tip: While elevation is horrible, you can always use it against open tops in urban warfare by intentionally banging the wall.
Explosion is big enough to overpressure people.
Same goes for Andryusha, but Andryusha is better for spamming rockets onto bases.
Pro tip if your opponent is using smoke grenades are hiding being an object that is destroyable than you can use the machinegun to locate where they are
You can shoot them further. Use the elevation adjustment and raise it a ton. You will start to see range markers for the rockets on the crosshair.

Another OP Premium Vehicle with a big rocket: H-34 (USA) with 1 Bullpup at 7.7. It can defend itself against planes quite well with the high-ROF 20mm.
You can elevate them further but 400m is the minimum on level ground. You can see when you target airplanes that they elevate with the main gun. You can probably sit on a triple cap map and fire continuously to the other cap/s
This is pretty much a low-tier sturmtiger. The rockets can, in fact, be ranged farther, just not closer than 400m.

it's still hilarious to me that this vehicle is coded in to be able to self damage but all it does is yellow everything while everyone else gets atomized
they are fun to lob across map at the start, especially when u get a few kills from it

I use this tank all the time you can change the range on the rockets when you use the reticle scroll wayyyyy down and the second set of numbers is for that really fun to it sitting on point and ranging to the other points under attack gotten many muti kills this way so many little things you can do to "wallbang" cross map kill" etc but I don't wanna have you read an essay xD great video!
