My mom is an elementary teacher and she has 1st graders cuss her out, bring knives to school, attack the school officer and these kids are only like 6yrs old. 4th and 5th graders smoking in the bathroom too. When I was that age we were at the most talking shit to each other if you had SNES or SEGA

Phones are required for communication. They are also private property. The problem isn't the phone it's the student. If the student is disruptive, then just call the police to remove the student.

Ive always been against phones in school, until last week when my child was sick ans because it wasnt 12noon the school wouldnt allow her to go home. I questioned the school and all I got was 'its policy'. She literally got home and have been severely sick since! I am now putting her in a other school and she will be taking her phone. Its a good 50/50 of good and shit teachers unfortunately the good are overlooked abd trodden on because of the bad teachers. So glad i grew up in the 90s i think id be a very different person if i was at school 00s onwards

How does an argument of, "It's private property" negate the reality that a school isn't the student's private property, so to be on the property you must follow rules? (SPOILER ALERT: it doesn't). Suspend a student for not following rules.
You cannot bring in your skateboard, or a knife, or a megaphone, or a laser pointer...a teacher can kick you out or give you an option to let the school rep.take it.
