- Today's video is a HUGE book unboxing featuring some of the rarest and most obscure vintage horror books I've ever found! I was able to order a whole collection of them on eBay for great prices. Most of these books are '90s middle grade books in the vein of Goosebumps and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. There are lots of Goosebumps knockoffs here like Spinetinglers, Graveyard School, Bone Chillers, etc, and other much rarer series. I had so much fun unboxing these books and I can't wait to do updated bookshelf tours showing off my newly expanded collection!

I absolutely adore and love the Sweet Valley foursome set - I remember reading those, gosh I must have been 11? it was before I started babysitting and thinking "WHAT WOULD I DO??"I haven't heard of about half of the books you mentioned/showed - some I remember seeing on my library spinner rack, but at the time I was all about Fear Street so I ignored the middle grade section almost completely.
Love the Spider's Child books - for the very longest time I thought I had made the series up because I originally saw the first book in K-mart, but didn't buy it and could not find anything about it at all anywhere. Then I randomly came upon them at a yard sale and ran off (after paying of course).
I'm glad you were reunited with the Spider's Child books! I'm excited to read them, and even more excited to read the Sweet Valley set. They look so creepy!
I was a little kid when Eerie Indiana aired and remember being so bummed when it was canceled. It was such a good show and should have lasted longer! My favorite episodes were some of the first ones: the ATM guy, the Halloween one where Simon's brother gets sucked into the TV, Foreverware, and the tornado episode to name a few. 😊

I love videos like this. It’s rare for me to find people online with similar book collections as me. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable about these sort of books, but many of these were new to me. What a great haul!
I got Tales of the Gross and Gruesome from a school book fair in third grade. It’s a fun one.
Same here! Just when I feel like I know all there is to know (or at least know OF everything), then here comes a bunch of books I knew nothing about. It’s one of the joys of collecting!

Awesome video! I’ve had spooksville 1-20 for over 2 years now. Haven’t had any luck with the last 4. They’re so rare it’s crazy! Hope you can find more. Love the covers and the first book was really good and the 2nd was pretty good too

I remember the Eerie, Indiana TV show but not in detail anymore. A "Gross and Gruesome" book used a Van Gogh self-portrait on the cover.
I loved Eerie Indiana! I was also an avid reader of the Goosebumps and Fear Street books.
I had a lot of those titles growing up. I remember coming home and cracking them open and getting lost in them. Great pick-ups. Thanks for sharing :) Happy reading.

Not sure if you ever heard of this series, but there's a middle grade horror trilogy called Camp Zombie. It's about a summer camp that has a lake with zombies in it or something. All I know is that the covers are actually pretty cool.
Only seen the 2nd book in person, back when I was a kid back in junior high. Never read the full thing, but I would like to read the series some day.
This collection is amazing! I have been collection some Goosebumps from the thrift store here and there, I have books 1, 2, and 4 of the Eerie Indiana series that I guess my mom bought for me when they were new, and I recently found Mary Downing Hahn who I now love and am rapidly reading through all her books haha but seeing this video has made me aware of just how many cool teen/kids horror books are out there and I'm inspired to hunt for more!

Hey Cam! Just received my copy of Autumncrow Fresh Hell today and started reading it, and so far I'm loving it. Definitely giving me all the nostalgic tween reading years vibes bc the scary books about dreams and creepy lovers from different time periods (Fear Street comes to mind) were my favs (along with historical witches and vampires). So yeah, super excited to have that!

I may have seen a few of those obscure knockoff books at stores before; the Frightmare ones in particular come to mind. Had no idea they were rare, I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for some of those now.
Congrats on the Spinetinglers books, I've been trying to collect those as well, the later ones are super hard to find.

Awesome work! The amount of middle-grade Goosebumps knock-offs is insane. Do you reckon there were more of them than YA horror? I've had to draw a line in my book collecting of vintage titles and middle-grade is it. I'll only pick them up in op shops, which is pretty rare these days.
Thank you! Good question. I think there were more middle grade series. Then again, I have about the same amount of teen horror as I do middle grade, but half of those YA books are by Stine.
I haven't read it, but I do have eerie Indiana: halloweird in my possession and since it's October might as well read it this month 😅

Hi I feel like u might know this ..I read a book when I was in like elementary or middle school.. I wana say it was a goosebumps book or by r.l stine.. the only thing I remember is that there was like a hill and kids skateboarded or biked down it and it was dangerous/deadly. It’s driving me crazy that I can’t remember what book it was or anything else about it. Someone help! Does this sound familiar to anyone?!?
