That's good to know, I have one on order and I also have ~ 3 acres but I got the 48" deck.

    Thanks for the video.
I just ordered this with the 48A deck. First it's 10 ga. as opposed to 12 for the 42" deck. It also has three blades and motors. I know about not bagging but I did get the mulching option.
I run off grid so this fits right in with our EV and other electric outdoor tools. Bought the Deere because of the brand and previous machines from them, also I prefer the sealed battery with the IP66 rating (forced water safe) so I can wash it without worrying. I can't wash my EGO 21" mower. I'll see when I get it if it's as good as I've been hearing.

      @@papemachinery.agturf Thanks and I will.
One more thing I found out in my research, the 48"deck option also has 20" rear tires over the 18" on the 42" deck.

Material collection system? You mean a grass catcher? Deere charges over $900 for that grass catcher. And they charge over $300 for the service manual. If it stops running and you get a fault code, all you can do is scratch your head and take it to the dealer, and maybe they will be willing to work on it.

When I see all this electric stuff, I think are batteries going to be available and at what cost in 10 years, which is the typical lifespan of a well maintained ZTR. I've tossed countless cordless tools and products because of replacement battery cost/availability.

Electronics is my field, these batteries are very well built and I like that they are sealed. Batteries are rated in charge cycles, how many times the battery can be charged and discharged. Li-Ion have ~2,000 - 2,500 charge cycles. So let's say you mow once a week for 6 months of the year and each time you use all the battery capacity. That's 24 cycles a year 2000/24 = 83.3 years the batteries will last, even if you mow four times that you're still over 20 years and that's on the4 low cycle range. EV's running these batteries have gone 200k miles with only 10% battery loss. When you see batteries failing it is usually the BMS (battery management system) not charging them properly or the manufacturer pushing the battery beyond its design limits. I don't think Deere is doing that, they're a very conservative company and people are going further than the advertised acreage they claim.
I just bought one of these, I'm not worried, besides you can get an extended warranty (which I will get) for 10 years 400 hours. Deere is a very solid company, I've been running their machines for quite some time, really good stuff. (I'm not an employee or associated with Deere in any way.)

Have you heard anything about deere offering an electric lawn tractor similar to the Ego T6? Any thoughts on this vs. the Z6, especially considering it's almost $1000 more expensive?

Hey Chris, thanks for watching! John Deere is working on a few different electric projects, and they keep it pretty close to the vest. We'll have to wait and see if an electric lawn tractor is in the cards. As far as the difference between the two zero turns, Jason says, "The EGO is a great machine and has a lot to offer, I would say the Deere has a superior cut quality comparing the two."
