I had a 370r , if you cut some kind of tall grass it drains the battery faster than you can say i wish i bought a gas mower. I now have a z545r so nice.
I ordered this in February 2023 and it is currently sitting on the sales floor with a Stop Sale/No Demo order from John Deere. How are you making a video about it if we, the customer, can’t even take ours home or demo it ourselves 🤨
I personally think it would be fun to test drive, I'd be curious what an acre would be with a grass collector on it how weight effect battery life in a charge
Why did you not cut like most would with a ZTR turning at each side ? I suspect this is to get the time you/JD wanted. Taller grass and mowing like a proper ZTR would I doubt that it would be able to finish on 1 charge and that’s why you rigged the test
Wait till its 3 years old and the expensive batteries are spanked like my Milwaukee trimmer and blower with 8ah batteries. I have lost 2/3 of the run time in just three seasons on a 1/3 acre suburban yard. Can't even find the price of a new battery for this thing. They don't want you to know.
@@danwesson1934 No. My "thesis" is that people can buy a nice gas powered zero turn for the same price and use it for 15 years. You will not be able to say that for these lithium ion batteries.
You can see from the first perimeter pass that the mower is discharging basically nothing onto the sidewalk. Cutting next to nothing. This comes off as deceptive in trying to make a battery mower look better than it really is. I know that is not your intent but you should have done this under more real-world conditions cutting a decent length of grass. I typically love your content but man, you can do better than this...
Agreed, i noticed the lack of grass on the sidewalk. Actually at first i though he should be going the other direction to shoot the grass on to the lawn and not trash the sidewalk making a mess. But when i seen most the grass was only getting hit by the wind rather than the blade it seems suss. Western Equipment, when you do tests can you cut a short strip first. Stop then show us how much you are taking off as comparison.
Grass already looked pre-cut. For a real test of an electric mower cut 4-6inches of grass, so it has some realistic load on the motors. Thanks.

Try the same test cutting 4" tall damp grass down to 2" Battery life would be a lot less.
How cold can the batteries safely get while in winter storage?

I never knew Deere had electric models
All nice but could only think the price of a new blade motor if you bent the shaft. A spindle, pulley and belt be cheaper I think.

Technology is deflationary. Look at TVs for example. If you buy one, your thesis is the batteries will be less expensive in the subsequent years.
