    I'm a prelude enthusiast I have a 4th and 5th gen. And one of my biggest pet peeves is those owners coming from a different platform expecting the prelude to be like the other honda's. I think all of your points are valid!!

      It's funny when they freak out how much it costs to modify the chassis compared to civics or integras...

    Although I don't seem to get as irritated by the same questions all the time (and I'm still learning anyway), I can definitely understand the "Can I -anything-engine swap this?!" question. And the other two peeves are on point. If it wasn't for Sean we'd have bugger all to support our cars. I personally love the work and effort he puts in to essentially giving us what we want, and putting up with all the crap along the way. Big ups!

      The can I swap _____ into my car, is usually the first sign of somebody who didn't want to do a google search and will probably drop the car like a hot potato once they realize it doesn't go fast for cheap lol. But that's awesome you're enjoying yours! Any big plans for her?

      @@massedoesstuff7128 I have one ('91 i16 4WS) I will be keeping fairly stock as it's in really tidy condition. And another project (90 i16 4WS) that im slowly piecing back together as it's currently in a million parts haha. Once I've got it together I can look at other options but that wont be for a while.

    Good video! I have a 90' SI 2.0 with a B20a5 and it's been a difficult car to restore so far. When you buy a car that can Rock the antique license plate be ready for some antique hunting too. I had an SR in Canada when I was 17 and was so young I never knew what I had on my hands. Being 35 now and In Florida with this one I'm fixing it correctly. You gave excellent advice and I wish I saw your video when I was younger to smarten me up lol best advice fix it drive it and restore it slowly and learn at the same time. These cars aren't built overnight at allllll.

      Thanks! And most definitely, people get super focused on going faster not how long the car will last. What plans do you have for your Prelude? I've mostly learned by trial and error but always happy to help people.

      @@massedoesstuff7128 I totally agree! My plans are to get it restored and try to find as many oem parts as possible for it and bring it back to original condition. I know it's a good motor to turbo and all that good stuff but I have other Honda's that are fast. This car is on another level and I just want it original and running good. It's in great shape actually but the previous owner swapped the rims and stereo out witch I wasn't happy about. The saw blade original rims are hard to find in good shape or price. Thankfully it's unmolested and has 99 percent of it's original parts on it. Life got in the way and the car sat for some time but I cleaned it and looked after it while it sat but I have a list of things to do to look at before I put it back on the road. I have a connection to these cars and the previous seller picked up on that and lied about almost everything on the car. I found things out later after I bought it. Lesson learned lol. But it's nothing major and it's actually a good car I appreciate that and I'll definitely reach out to you if I get stuck on something. Looking forward to more videos and I subscribed!!

    Nobody doesn't like that 1funryd dude because the stuff is expensive. Low volume stuff costs money and that's fine. People don't like him because he thinks he is God's gift to earth and doesn't have a single positive thing to say unless it's about himself.

    • @massedoesstuff7128

    • @Conorsev
      @Conorsev 3 года назад +4

      @@massedoesstuff7128 talked to him heaps. He only comments on stuff to tell people to buy his shit or call them an idiot. Last post I saw from him was on a guy from Thailand. Didn't really speak English. Guy did a 100% perfect mint resto on the car. Engine bay was perfect and looked brand new. Then Sean butted in to have a go at the guy for not buying his power steering line lol. Just stuff like that constantly.

    • @massedoesstuff7128
      @massedoesstuff7128  3 года назад

      I saw that post. That thing was mint! If I remember correctly, he didn't attempt to sell him a PS reroute line, he was commenting on why, if he put that much effort into a resto why not reroute the PS line that is known to cause issues. I can understand both sides of the argument, ultimately it's the guy's money so he can do whatever he wants with it, and I appreciate his attempt to keep the car all original which he did a fantastic job on. Mad respect to that job.

    Wow. Way to come at me in a video. But in all seriousness. I bought a third gen like a couple months after I crashed my 97 accord. I really wanted a 5th Gen but the two people that were selling them in my price range weren’t responding. Then I saw it an $800 1990 Honda prelude Si. That “ran and drove.” I made every mistake possible buying this car lol. Bought it at night. Had no clue how to work on it after how the previous owner basically molested the wiring. But now I’m slowly but surely buying the parts I need to make it the car I want it to be. Not an easy platform to get stuff for at all. Everytime I go to my local advanced auto the stuff I need is usually the last one in stock in my area. Honestly wish I did my research back when I bought the car in 2019.

    Coming from the Cb7 community, I can relate to parts not being as widely available. I just saw that 1funryd has an h swap kit for a good price! That eliminates the hardest part. Body parts are easy; just use parts from other cars like me and my guys did on the CB chassis. I had a Nissan 240sx front lip and a Nissan skyline grille... (car pic is in my RUclips profile.) Heyyy a little research goes a long way.... and slight modifications of course.
