Mr Lee makes an argument based on isome data, which is very welcome as one can at least reasonably engage with a fact based argument..however there is very little lempathy, only the pretense of care for immigrants used to justify the harshest of measures. At the core of the argument is an assumption that immigrants are trouble are not entitled to the protections international humanitarian law demands and that current immigration is somehow different than that of the last few centuries.. fun fact.. most of the current immigrants from Latin America are native Americans.. somehow we are to believe that they are more foreign to these shores than Europeans?

Some states don't even require ID. Providing state ID alone doesn't prove you have citizenship, anyway. Listening to Durbin was absolutely painful. That bill was crap. All it would have done is codify into law the wide open border. The new border agents weren't for security. They would have been allowed to process only. It would have allowed in 5000 a day before they even considered closing the border. Trump wanted it shut down because it was terrible - not because he wanted an issue to run on. When Biden was installed in the White House, Trump said he prayed that Biden would do a good job for the benefit of the country and people he loves.

Listening to Durbin was absolutely painful. That bill was crap. All it would have done is codify into law the wide open border. The new border agents weren't for security. They would have been allowed to process only. It would have allowed in 5000 a day before they even considered closing the border. Trump wanted it shut down because it was terrible - not because he wanted an issue to run on. When Biden was installed in the White House, Trump said he prayed that Biden would do a good job for the benefit of the country and people he loves.
