I procrastinate until my wife says YOU HAVE TO GET THIS DONE. She gives me a lot of wiggle room and I take advantage of it. I am proud of myself when I take care of stuff without being prompted. The rewards are short-lived, but the task is complete unless my wife has deemed that it’s done improperly, as she has admitted she is a control freak. It’s a neverending cycle of mayhem as I am a “wait till the last minute” guy. I don’t think that will ever change. Thank you for your insights!
You and me both. And it's getting worse. Lately I've been reading compulsively. All day on the couch, reading 500pgs a day. Listening to everything around the house go to hell. I keep thinking, if I could just convince myself that something trivial, that gets used as a productivity substitute, like folding laundry, was The Most Important Thing, so I would avoid that by doing the actual most important thing. So far that hasn't worked :D Wishing the best for you, sir.
@@calandale Oh man, I lost a decade tl the digital portal to Hell. Not to mention money. It took working myself into a weeklong illness spent on the couch to break the habit. WIthdrawals. I'll probably slide back into it eventually.
I know ive mentioned this before, but just be glad you didnt take the job in Milwaukee, absolute depressing wasteland. The only other big city i can think of that's worse is Minneapolis
@calandale what did you do? The only cool things I could find was the mall and skywalk. Downtown nightlife was absolutely dead in mid summer with roaming bands of homeless.
It was a work trip. Mainly wandered around by the river. There were outdoor bands in the park, and a neighborhood that reminded me of Alexandra VG at night. There were definitely areas I wouldn't want to wander around in at night though.
You have put in words what I feel in my own life, but struggle to articulate. Thank you for sharing.
I imagine most people have these experiences. I certainly have. I am reminded of other videos I've seen about the experiences of people with ADHD.

Oh god - I wish I could read instead of pissing myself away on the computer.
