I’m on a cruise during the summer. You gave me a wonderful idea, right after the cruise I’m visiting friends before going home. I need more clothes, now I know how to make space so everything will fit. Thanks.
2019- and this pops up in my You tube just before I’m leaving on a Caribbean cruise... in 2 weeks... THANKS SO MUCH... I DON‘T WEAR DRESSES but the concept of capsule packing is great..
Loved this video. Yes, more cruise fashion, please. I'm a 1st time cruiser. I leave for Alaska in August. I really don't want to over pack. Thanks for sharing.
That's awesome info! I took my first cruise in April and definitely over-packed! Wish I had known about this concept before my cruise! But I will absolutely be using these tips to pack for my next one! Love your videos!
+Mary Pat Murray thank you for the wonderful feedback! Believe me, I am a self-professed over packer too. Generally speaking I like to do laundry on board rather than hauling extra weight in my bags, but I almost always return home with a few unworn pieces of clothing and some "shoe regrets", if u know what I mean!
Yes please to the capsule wardrobe for Alaska!!! I'm going on a cruise with my family to Alaska next year (July/August) starting in S.F. for 10 days. I would love to see what you come up with. I'm already stressing over what to pack and it's months away😁 Love these videos!
Ah, don't stress! Have you seen our Alaska packing videos? Go to playlists on our channel and watch the cruise packing videos and the Alaska cruising playlist. it will help you! PS- those 10 night cruises to Alaska are the best. My favorite!
I am not sure 5 dresses is a capsule wardrobe; I believe the idea is for each piece to be mixed and matched with multiple other pieces. BTW, I love your videos and have learned a lot about cruising by watching them!
I think it was done like that to meet her particular style and where she was going. If you like dresses but wear more shorts you should bring more shorts.Personally for a longer cruise like she went on I wouldn’t bring only one pair of shorts and one pair of Jeans.I would’ve brought a pair of shorts for every day to a warm cruise because if it’s hot and your gonna be sweating I don’t think you would want to wear the same clothes multiple times.I will soon be going on a 6 day 5 night cruise to Mexico in 2021.I don’t bring multiple outfits for every day cuz I mainly am in bathing suits on sea days.
Great ideas! We leave next week for our Caribbean cruise and I'm going to try this. I tend to be an overpacker so I like the idea of using dinner dresses for port days!! Thanks.
I'm impressed especially for an over packer. This will help in the Caribbean. Thanks for taking the challenge. #spoton You already know I want more on cruise fashion😄
+Great Grace Thank you! We had a blast putting it together and so appreciate the idea. More on cruise fashion coming your way as long as you don't mind Bianca, my fashion model. Trying on clothes makes me a little self-conscious :-)
very helpful especially since my luggage weighed 45 pounds for my cruise 3 weeks ago. I really plan to go light next time, but it is really hard. I really like this concept.
I like the idea of wearing your dinner dress again for day. That's my plan for packing lighter. I'm pretty good at packing light but this is my first cruise. Between the formal nights and my fancy girlfriends I'm going with, I feel I need to be dressier and pack more. But I'm resting the urge! I know I my favorite outfits so I'll stick to those! TFS 😎
this was great planning, and a really good idea for the rest of us to try. Although, on tropical destinations I tend to bring more clothing because of heat, humidity and perspiration. I find in warm location ,shoes are my biggest debate, especially if the formal nights are a bit upscale. I always try to scale it down to two basic colors and styles(without much success). Of course, by day 5 or 6 comfort is becoming an issue also. But ,your demonstration helps me to see what I can improve on for myself. Thanks for your hard work and Happy Travels. : )
+world wanderer I couldn't agree more. One thing that I did not mention on the video is that I tend to do laundry on board just about every cruise. I find that with the warm and cold weather cruises we can't make it seven days without washing the essentials. I agree with you. Choosing shoes is probably the most difficult part of every packing session for me too.
Hi Sheri! New subscriber here! I'd love to see your capsule wardrobe for Alaska since my mother and I will be doing a 7 day round trip from Seattle on Princess in August for her 60th birthday. Although I live in the windy city of Chicago, I'm finding it hard to figure out what to pack for the cooler climate of Alaska for our cruise. Because of the temperature variation from day to day, and port to port, I'd love to see how you layer and still keep it cute in Alaska! Thanks!
Welcome! Our "what to pack for Alaska" video is coming out very soon. It isn't a full capsule concept, but I think it will really help you. After you watch it, be sure to let me know if you have questions or need more specific recommendations. I am happy to help further! In short, focus on comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing, a few pair of comfortable jeans, a nice light, waterproof jacket (the North Face makes beautiful ones), and several short and long sleeve t-shirts for layering. I even pack tanks to wear under sweaters. Evenings on the ship will be a little cooler than a Caribbean cruise, so I focus on dresses, (even sundresses at times) with sweaters and wraps over the top.
I didn't know this was an actual concept! This is what I'm doing for my upcoming cruise, except it's a Disney cruise so I'm going even more casual than you.. ;)
I love your videos, they are so helpful! I am going on a cruise to the Caribbean on July 4, and I was wondering if you could come up with a video that talks about what you need to know for embarkation day. It will be my first cruise and the websites for the cruise are too hard to follow, not giving me the information I need. I understand if you are to busy but I was hoping an experienced cruiser like you could give me some tips and information on how embarkation day works, and how to make the most of it. Thanks :)
+A&Eloominggirls sure thing! I'm happy to help. In fact we made a video about it: ruclips.net/video/OSR6-Wo9Vvg/видео.html A few tips in general though- 1) make sure that everyone in your party has their passport and boarding documents from the cruise ship when you arrive at the terminal and packs small carry on bag with essentials like medication, a swimsuit, and a light change of clothes in case your luggage is delayed 2) once onboard, most people flock to the buffet, making it crowded and unpleasant -instead ask the ship staff if the main dining room is open during embarkation. Sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't , and it can be a very nice treat to enjoy a seated meal at a relaxed pace of the buffet feels frantic to you. 3) if possible, plan an embarkation or sailaway day tradition with your companions- this could be anything from ordering a special cocktail the moment you get on the ship to visiting the pool or hot tub right when you embark (when the pool is not crowded) or perhaps sitting on your balcony during sailaway with a special bottle of wine that you brought from home. I also found this fun article I think you'll really enjoy: cruiseradio.net/11-cruise-traditions-on-embarkation-day/ I hope this helps!!!
A&Eloominggirls There are lots of RUclips videos with tips for embarkation day. Check Tips For Travelers, Don’s Family Vacations, La Lido Loca, cruising with Ben and David, and also I believe CruiseTipsTV has one of these too. Enjoy your cruise, but do look at many videos from many vloggers . You will learn so much.
Hi Sherri I am 12 years old and going on my first ever cruise in October of this year from Hong Kong to Singapore. My family and I are going to Disneyland in Hong Kong. Can you please do a video on packing for teens please.
+Rhiannon.M hey! I love this idea and we will research it ... However, something tells me you'll know more than I do!! Ps- your trip sounds absolutely amazing and I wish I could come with you! Here are some things I thought of for you to pack: -A travel journal or journal app- record every day of your trip! You'll cherish it when you're older and it will literally become your memories. -Your own camera to take pics of all the new friends you meet. -a book/novel about the area you're traveling to. If you find one, let me know what it is! - a few awesome Disney wardrobe items like a Mickey shirt or hoodie! - super comfortable shoes and your favorite sunglasses - loads of your favorite music on your device and high quality headphones for down time by the pool How am I doing so far?
have you ever been on Allure of the Seas or the biggest ship ever Harmony of the Seas if so do a video on them I'm looking to go on the harmony your videos are amazing keep the videos coming you are the best
+Colleen Limbacher we don't have a capsule wardrobe for Alaska, but here's our video playlist which includes a general packing video : ruclips.net/p/PLCLybRxC0VFKMJYXpAl7QlVl1Z9G-kTdE

I looove a capsule wardrobe for travel! This will definitely help me with our upcoming Bahamas cruise!
Love this! Would love to see another video like this ☺️👏🏻
Thanks! I'm always more interested in WHAT'S being packed than HOW it's being packed.
You have great taste! I started ordering "stitch fix" and letting them style me and so far, AMAZING! 3rd month and I have kept everything
Yes, Alaska capsule wardrobe please! Loved this, as I'm an over-packer as well!
Thank you so much I'm going to Mexico in 2 weeks and I'm so ready thanks for helping me and my family pack
+Carlie Williams That's exciting!! I hope you have a fabulous trip to Mexico with your fam!
2019- and this pops up in my You tube just before I’m leaving on a Caribbean cruise... in 2 weeks... THANKS SO MUCH... I DON‘T WEAR DRESSES but the concept of capsule packing is great..
I don't wear dresses either. Well, normally. Stitch fix hooked me up with the first dress and I love it! They have sent 2 in 3 months and I love them
Loved this video. Yes, more cruise fashion, please. I'm a 1st time cruiser. I leave for Alaska in August. I really don't want to over pack. Thanks for sharing.

45 pounds isn't bad! It is tough, especially if you're traveling to a cool weather destination. Thank you for your feedback!
Nailed it. I hope I can do it for a plus size wardrobe.

Thanks! Hopefully, you can do your own laundry on board.
Very good capsule packing. Thanks!
