Check again dude. I've noticed the hit on the snare but remember that he's also using triggers so if they're configured for high velocity and gain, you can slightly touch it to get the trigger to work.

So f'ing what if he's using triggers? The original is HEAVILY triggered. Triggers only change the sound. His drumming is still tight and accurate. Badass job, Samus!

@@drsimioindahouse Triggers won't play for you but they certainly can make heavy drumming easier because you do not have to care about dynamics so much. You can do weak but super fast love taps (easy to stay tight when you do not have to use power) and triggers can turn the otherwise meek hits into powerful drumming with every hit of the same drum sounding the same than the one before, no matter how hard or weak you hit it. Triggers are kinda the autotune of drumming, a useful tool but also easily abused one. You can have triggered drums that do take into account the hitting dynamics but usually when people do the "obviously triggered" drums then they tend to be after the infamous, mechanical, rigid drum machine-like sound and this is what people associate triggering with the most.
Its sad that musicians that can play like this go penny less for their talents when there are musicians that do nothing but lip sink, and barely play a complex cord get rich. well done sir. good job. you deserve appraise.

I'd say the same thing. Nick was kind of "melodic" drummer in those two albums he recorded with Borgir. Those fills and every variation of beats were pure excellence. But this Samus right here did absolutely brilliant job covering this one. Such of explosive power in those blast beats and fills. Samus would be great replacement for Daray, imho.
