    I love your reviews. I’m 71 w/health and mobility issues. Washing my floors has become an ordeal. Though I manage it more or less with my Vileda Mop Set, it still remains difficut. So this In & Out Mop looked really promising. I was ready to dump my Vileda set when you mentioned the weight of the bucket once filled w/water: 18 lbs! I can hardly hold an empty plate, so imagine that mop set. Now that’s *exactly* why I love your reviews. You really, really put to the test every aspect of the products you review and truly inform us in the process. Thank you for your excellent work.

    LOL I love these reviews! They are concise, unemotional, thorough, they compare the TV products with other similar products and they are tested over time. Oddly, I've never purchased one single As Seen on TV item. I just like watching the reviews.

    Definitely like this. I have hard floors throughout house bc I have 2 cats and a dog, so lots of mopping. More eco friendly than Swiffer, and you can use your own soap. Why, for the love of God, doesn't the dirty water go straight down into its own chamber, thereby keeping clean water in the first? That would be my desire.

    I loved this review. Very well done and it seems like a pretty cool little mop. I’ve tried just about everything. My favorite right now is the bissell crosswave. If vacuums and mops at the same time and I waited so long to get it because I just didn’t see how it could do a good job but boy was I wrong! That thing is amazing and saves my back so much agony. Plus I can get the floors done so quickly since it’s all in one step. But all I have is hardwood floors throughout my house so for someone who has a lot carpet I bet they’d prefer the in and out mop. Thanks for the review James!

      Hannah Wiggins if you don’t mind me asking but how long have you had it? And also is it good for pet owners? My dogs shed a lot but I’ve been looking for something for a while I have all hard flooring

      Kandi Moore I’ve had it about 4 months now. I’m not sure about pet hair because I have a toy poodle and she doesn’t shed. BUT I have long hair that falls out like crazy and two daughters with long hair and it does a great job for us. The way it works is you take the brush roll that mops the floor off after every use and give a good rinsing. I always have a bunch of hair wraps around it so I just pull it off and throw it away. And there is always a TON of it in the container where all the dirt and dirty water goes. The good thing is if you buy it and keep the receipt and box you can return it if you’re not completely satisfied. I think it would probably do great for pet hair though.

    Thanks for the "In and Out Mop" review,James! I do believe I'll have to buy one of those! :-) Regardless of what some of the "peanut-gallery" have said (lol),I think that mop does a pretty good job! It's somewhat better than the old,tried & true standard yacht mop because it squeezes out the 'dirty' water,etc., you've just mopped off the floor and you don't have to get your hands wet doing it! Now...as far as using the same soapy water over & over,one does have the option of emptying the bucket and adding new,clean soapy water for each floor you are/may be mopping.Unless you have small children crawling on your floors or you're serving dinner & eating off your floors,changing the water every 5 minutes isn't necessary!! I've been "chief-cook,bottle-washer & the main floor-mopper",in my home, for almost 50 years and for those who are saying that their floors are "sparkling clean" are stretching the truth...just a little!!
    James...I just discovered your channel 2 days ago and I love ALL your reviews! I'm certainly not one to tell someone what to do - however (lol) - could you have a garage/yard sale and get rid of most of the things that's cluttering your poor garage!? I'm sure there's someone in your neighborhood who have no idea that you're a "product reviewer"...lol!

      But. You would need to top up the clean water along the way. So why not just continue to use the same soapy water at a more constant volume? Just because it gets discoloured after the first rinse off doesn’t automatically make the entire bucket too filthy to still be used for cleaning

  • @ThatSoddingGamer
    @ThatSoddingGamer 6 лет назад +1

    Yes, considering the design it already is using, it would have made a lot more sense to have a triple-slot design, each with its own reservoir, as you said. One side for wet, middle (and thinner, if size is a concern) section for squeezing out the waste water, and the last end would get the waste water squeezed out and drained to it. By the end it would be a bit more balanced, what with the 'fresh' water being depleted somewhat on one end, and the dirty water being placed on the other end.
    They're obviously intending to recycle the waste water, so it's a somewhat gimmicky design without a three chamber system. I've always felt that mops that use the same water to clean the floor as they do to 'clean' the mop itself is a bit self defeating. Sure, it's more efficient, but it does ultimately spread the filth around, especially the longer you mop. If you're going to have to change the water to a fresh batch anyway, if your project is large enough that the water gets the recycled dirty enough you don't want to keep using it, they might as well make it so you don't reuse the filthy water, and go with a separate reservoir to squeeze out the waste water instead.

    The Swiffer is probably OK for spot cleaning; however, for a thorough deep cleaning, a proper mop (whether it's the In & Out Mop or a conventional mop) would be better. We have both; however, the conventional mop tends to get used more often, largely because we aren't at all diligent about the daily light mopping that the Swiffer seems best suited for. (We also have one of those Shark steam mops, which gets used more often than the previous two choices, as we don't like to leave chemical cleaners on the floor where our little dog might accidentally ingest a bit while eating food she's dropped on the floor.)

    • @skoomacat13
      @skoomacat13 6 лет назад

      That last part is why I rinse my floors. It just kinda makes more sense to me, whether you have pets and kids or not, to rinse chemicals off rather than leave it to dry and form a film/layer of cleaner that will also transfer to your feet and maybe be absorbed into your body. I mean if you use that disinfectant to clean counters, it says to rinse. Why not do the same with anything else you use it for.

    I do like that it has these chambers for washing and drying. The old wringer mops had a bucket with a strainer cup that you twisted the rag mop in. I liked it; it went away (I'm old). I agree that this mop needs a separate chamber for the dirty water to run into. That would be an improvement on the old rag mop system. I also have to point out that this would not be a sensible or functional set up for cleaning up spills. This is for your weekly, whole floor, mopping. That cloth (or a Swiffer) is for cleaning up ketchup and wine ;)

  • @jbeargrr
    @jbeargrr 6 лет назад +3

    I use microfiber cloths on my Swiffer, instead of the pads you can buy for them. The pads are less absorbent, and expensive. The in and out mop looks easier to use that my microfiber cloths, because I have to take those off, rinse, wring, and put back on. Hang them to dry, then toss into the laundry basket. Might keep a separate bucket of clean water to dip the I&O mop in. Ude the dirty water to get most of the crud out, then dip in the clean, use the dry side to wring. It would be easier than what I do now, I think.

    Reminds me of the sponge mop. Compress it to ring it out, reuse the water, no-hands cleaning (as even when the sponge got dirty, the mop had a release system). I still think that system was better than a Swiffer-which I’ve never found to have good enough scrubbing power. So I’d probably like this. It even has the added benefit, unlike a sponge, of being reusable, of being clean each time you start.

    It looks to me like you are supposed to fill the "dry" side with clean water or cleaning solution so you can put clean water back on your floor while the dirty water funnels back into the other side. The other mop head I think is supposed to be more for "scrubbing", and since my knees aren't what they used to be and I can't get down and scrub anymore...I would really like to see just how clean this product could get a really dirty floor. It's funny but the first thing I thought when I saw this was that it needed three chambers so you could clean off the mop head and then use clean water for the next pass. I think I would love this. My brother and I have a cheap normal "spaghetti hair" mop we got from the dollar store from when we moved out of living with our mom a few years ago, lol. We don't mop much because we end up having to spot mop from spills but that cheap thing hurts to wring out as it has no grip. The plastic, attachable wringer for the bucket will be pushed into the bucket with little effort so you can't wring it out very well.
    Before we moved out, our mom had a Swifer (and the knockoff Liebman from Walmart) with the removable, washable pads. Those are okay but I hate refilling the bottle or changing the bottle entirely as it doesn't hold much product. I also don't think it gets the floor as wet as I want it for cleaning. The floor always just feels so-so to me and not as clean as with a regular mop. This Hurricane mop allows for using a lot of water for the initial cleaning and dries for getting up the excess afterwards. Yeah...I'd love to get this. Maybe then I'd mop more, lol. So long as I can buy one or two other pads for it and they're all washable, I'd be very satisfied with this. Thank you for the review! I'm finding so many new and useful items from your channel :)

    This gave me a great comparison review vs Swiffer, which like you I own and use daily. Have a dog too. Use the Swiffer with Wet & Dry cleaning clothes. Go thru a lot, & by off brand to save money. I have a coupon for Bed, Bath, and Beyond as well. Think I may give a try too, especially when able to wash pads in washer. What about buying replacement pads, is that an easy thing to do? Also, could this be used as a "dry" mop to pickup dog hair, especially before getting it wet to use as "mop"?
    Gotta ask, since live in Vegas....what is your burger "style" of choice?
    As Always, a pleasure to watch & great fun vid!
    Have a great day, Cheers, A👍🏻👍🏻

      I like it pretty basic and just go with the standard burger there. And yes it could be used to dry mop but the hair still doesn't seem to stick to it. Thanks for the comment!

      Aepek I have a swifter and dog and CAT hair. My swifter NEVER picks up animal hair and it's great for quick cleanups but I prefer a mop and bucket. I'm buying a hurricane Inandout!

      Check the news more often if you have a Swiffer you do not want to have children or pets in your house as a Swiffer does not clean chemicals off the floor in anyway it just keeps piling them up on there

      Vineyard 480 Thanks for the info, but I dint have aSwiffer Wet Jet, not use one. Have the normal swiffer dry dusting cloths for floors & buy great value brand wet floor cloths to use on dimple spills & messes. When actually clean my house use good old fashion mop and bucket to"mop" everything, or the Kirby vacuum shampoo system, yes, this works on any type of floors(not just carpet) with correct brush roller. Again, THANKS for the info, as was interesting to learn & don't ever but swiffer wet jet mop system. Cheers, A

    You should use the mop completely dry for pet hair. I use a microfiber mop for on my entire house dry to get up the hair. Works great, but is a pain to get the hair out. Squeegee seems like it would help quite a bit.

    Great video. It looks like a good product. I wonder if you could use the dry side for clean water. After I clean with soap, I always go back with just clean water to get off any soap residue. The other side looks like it would be good for that. Does the ringer work if you turn it around? Interesting things to try for your second video later in a few months. I always try to think of other ways to use a product.

    Have you compared the in and out mop to the vileda easy wring system? That would be a more apples to apples comparison I think. I have the vileda and love it though I can see how some features in the hurricane mop work a bit better.

    I make a few passes with my swiffer wet mop then rinse in sink each time under clean water. Now I use the cross wave machine. But I still can't find anything that cleans my floors. I wear clean white socks afterwards and still my socks look dirty. Thanks for a great review.

    I have not found the most efficient self rinsing and drying mop. Most of the mops rinse the in the same tank of dirty water. If you spill some sweet drinks on the floor, it is going just spread all the sweet stuff over the house floor. I agree with you about the 3rd chamber. Grab the clean water and dispose filthy stuff into the dirty water chamber. .

    How do you mop with a regular mop without putting the mop in the "dirty" water unless you are using separate buckets? Any time you mop using one bucket you dip your mop into the dirty water. No different with this.

    Can you attach that white top part of the bucket so it hangs halfway off so you can empty the dirty water into the dry side? Mabey this is dumb but if you could, you could put a bucket underneath and make it how you described. A three chamber bucket. I think the handles might get in the way though.

    Interesting, right before your video started I saw an advertisement for the O-Cedar Promist Spray Mop which is similar to a mop by Rubbermaid I use to clean my sealed hardwood floors. I'm wondering how that one would be against this one.

    Great review. First time seeing this mop. Not sure if it would work for me just seems to be a lot of hassle for a mop. That’s why I use the swifter wet jet and also use my steamer once a week. Have you done a review on the spin mop? I have been eyeing those ones😂.

    You should try out Neato botvac. I have four med/large dogs, 2 that shed, and its great. Pretty decent on carpet and excellent on hard floors. Beats competitors on Consumer Reviews. It’s works in a pattern (most others are random) and remembers where it left off if the canister gets full or it needs to charge. I’ve had mine for 3 years.
