The only drawback to the O'Cedar mop bucket is that when it is full of water, it tips forward (so you have to be careful when you carry it). It seems the design engineers forgot to check where the balance point of the handle is when the bucket has the water weight added to it!

Great video, very helpful! Can you tell me choices no.2 and no.1 are good for tall people to use? I've bought different ones over the years but I hate when is made for a kid to use and not an adult. Do you know the upheld sizes of the handles? Thanks !
Before buying any mop you can check out the specs online. Most stores and online shops have the descriptions and the sizes so you don't make an error when purchasing. That would be my best suggestion so the answer you get is specific to the mop you are considering.
Thank you for this video. The information is great. Thank you Angela. I didn’t like the steamer mop until I heard you talking about its benefits . Now I don’t mind use it. I think it is great!! 😀
I bought a Wagner steamer because it had a huge piece for removing wallpaper. Attachments loosen stubborn grunge, window glazing putty, floor adhesive. It has a floor mop piece with washable head but you can easily attach the right size microfiber cloths to the clamps. I started out with a Hoover Floormate ten years ago, still going strong except small breaks to plastic pieces. Recently, my husband bought me a Bissel Crosswave floor scrubber. It. Gets. Floors. DRY as it cleans. I have true hardwood floors and it leaves them almost dry. Check your floor warranty for whether it is appropriate to use certain products and cleaners. My steamer took stick on vinyl tiles right up! Can be handy? I LOVE my steamer.
Wow, I'm so jealous, you have some amazing cleaning equipment in your house. I am so glad to hear you love your steamer. You are correct, it's important to be informed on your flooring, how to clean it and what the warranty covers. Thank you for watching my video and for taking the time to write in. 🤗
@@AskAngelaBrown I have three dogs and two men who dont understand concept of NO SHOES IN HOUSE. I need all the help I can get. I have a question, with people in and out, do you have any suggestions for a floor/door mat that catches dirt before it gets on my floors? The sand/dirt has ruined vinyl flooring and worn the hardwood/heart pine.
It's not recommended because the heat will loosen the glue that sticks the vinyl to the floor. The flooring will eventually start picking up on the edges and turn black in the seams and then trip you when you walk.
When we had our hard floor put in our kitchen, they told us to never use steam cleaners or it would ruin it. But, I hear of so many people using steam cleaners! I'm scared to try them. I want one as they look awesome.
I have the shark steam mop. I Love it I have used other steamers but they leave the floor too wet but not this one. I also have the e-cloth mop I love as well for wood floors. I just feel uneasy using steam on wood.
I would also recommend the Bissel spin wave. I put my bona liquid cleaner in it and it spins and scrubs. Micro fiber pads go straight into the wash it does a great job on wood floors. Not a fan on tile as it sometimes tends to leave “circle” marks from the scrubbing but on my wood and vinyl floors it is way easier and cleans way better in my opinion, on the wood and vinyl flooring.
Yes, it is generally safe to use a Bissell vacuum on engineered floors, but it's important to take certain precautions to avoid causing damage to the flooring. Firstly, make sure that the Bissell vacuum you are using has adjustable suction settings. Engineered floors are typically more delicate than other flooring materials, so using a vacuum with high suction power could potentially cause scratches or damage. Secondly, make sure that the Bissell vacuum you are using has a soft-bristled brush roll or attachment. Hard-bristled brush rolls can cause scratches or scuff marks on the surface of the flooring, which can be difficult or expensive to repair. Thirdly, before using the Bissell vacuum on your engineered floors, make sure to test it in an inconspicuous area to ensure that it does not cause any damage or leave any marks. If you notice any damage or scratching, stop using the vacuum immediately and consider alternative cleaning methods. In general, it's recommended to use a soft-bristled broom or a microfiber mop to clean engineered floors, as these methods are gentle and effective at removing dirt and debris without causing damage. Regular maintenance, such as sweeping or dry mopping, can also help to prevent scratches or damage to the flooring.
Hi! 👏 This one has a removable canister that can be filled with any cleaning solution you like or the one they recommend: amzn.to/3CwVwJY (paid link). Hope this helps! 😀
For 2500sq. Ft home w/ all hardwood except 3 bathrooms w/ ceramic what would be good compromise for one manual type everyday mop & one steamer type for heavier once month cleaning? Thanks for this very informative video!
Thanks so much for watching my video. It really depends on what you find more comfortable using to clean. I suggest going to the store and checking them out. 🤗
We use a Cyclomop for floors which is designed for professional use. It has a wash spindle and can be wrung out very adequately. The buckets,, mops and handles are heavy duty and they are not cheap but hold up well with constant usage. The mop buckets have an optional cradle with small casters so that the buckets can be wheeled across a floor.
Rwan, Checkout the Bona website: www.bona.com/en-us/products/professional/ Here you can determine the best Bona product for your needs and get instructions on how to best use it. 👍
@@AskAngelaBrown How can I tell, I don't think so, not since we've been here except I had my mother's bedroom refinished and a small hallway. But the rest of the apartment, no. I see stains and marks on them even after I have mopped the floor. In addition do I use Rejuvenate or Murphy's Oil soap, my Mom has always used Future or Pledge for floors, she always puts a little Pine~Sol with a little Dawn washes the floor with that, and then before it completely dries she squirts Pledge Floor Finish.
Thanks for the video. We are building a new home. We are going to have hardwood floors throughout and the main level of the home is about 2600 sqft. We were recommended the Bona system by the wood flooring store. But my concern is that to do the whole main level will get exhausting spray/mop/spray/mop. Also, buying the refill seems like it would be a constant cost. I’m interested in the steam mops. what do you think would be ideal for whole floor mopping? Or should I consider the Mopnado?
If you are vacuuming and dust mopping regularly you may not need to spray and mop as often. The system you describe might be best as a spot treatment and then come up with a regular cleaning routine where you will clean the entire downstairs. Keep me posted on how things go.
We had a vinyl wood look floors installed recently. When I wash the floor I see hand prints from the installers. Must be the glue they used. How do I get that removed?
Sorry that there are handprints on your new floors. I suggest you call the installers and manufacturer to see how they suggest removing the handprints.
Here's that mop: amzn.to/2Bn0wBQ (paid link). You might be able to use as you suggest just be sure there isn't too much water for the walls or ceilings. T😀hank you!
Is felt pads good for wood floors and to polish the wood floors? I know it's only a cleaning channel, but what would you recommend to polish wood floors?
Your question about felt pads and polishing wood floors makes me wonder if this is for a home or a commercial job. Most homes you won't be using a polisher (a.k.a. burnisher) and polishing pads won't be necessary. If you're mopping a floor, a damp microfiber mop pad should be all you need for hardwood floors. Tell me more about your project.
@@AskAngelaBrown it's more for my home. I love cleaning, but my hardwood floors need a polish. Old 1940s original hardwood floors. Before moving into my new home it was covered in carpet, but I removed the carpet and beautiful wooden floors came out from underneath the carpet. I mopped the floors with your instructions and it still has a little bit of a dull texture with lighting from natural light and regular electric lighting. That's why I asked about the felt pads and if maybe I should also get a polishing machine that isn't too expensive, but excellent for polishing my hardwood floors. I used to own an early 1900s cleaning book and that got lost in my moving. Everything that you have thus shown so far is exactly how that book stated in cleaning. I just want to polish my hardwood floors to get it to luster just a little bit more in the natural light of the day and in the evening with regular electrical lighting. It is just a personal project. Love cleaning and polishing the old ways.
What's the deal with 400 washes on the microfiber mop head? Does the microfiber get worn out, or just chock full of dirt that the microfiber won't let go of, even being washed out?
Thank you for your question! The 400-wash claim for the microfiber mop head typically refers to the manufacturer's estimate of its durability under regular use
@@AskAngelaBrown In searching for a microfiber wet mop, I think most of them I'd have to have some weird 18" rectangular shaped bucket for. So I want to get one that is a wringable microfiber; a sliding mechanism that clears all the dirt out. That way no bucket is needed, you just rinse it over the kitchen sink, slide the mechanism over, and all the dirt goes down the drain. Rubbermaid made one but they discontinued it. Do you have any recommendations for a microfiber wet mop that is wringable?
The Hoover SteamScrub Pro is no longer available on Amazon. I wonder whether to get the Light 'N' Easy, or to get a simpler steamer for the floors, and one of the mutli-function hand held only ones (not for floors) for everything else. ??
I know right? As soon as you fall in love with a product they come out with a newer model. This is the one I'm using now Bissell PowerSteamer Heavy Duty 3-in-1 Steam Mop and Handheld Steamer amzn.to/32B9jwC and it does have the hand held portion for things like grout on shower walls, the insides of ovens and freezers.
I’ve been cleaning homes with my own business for 17 years and I like industrial string mops because you can get more detailed cleaning done with them versus flat mops. I can clean baseboards and other hard to reach areas. Gimmicky products often leave a lot to be desired as opposed to the good old fashioned ways of cleaning IMO.

My wood floor is single lay tongue and groove that’s been a tenant house for decades. The surface is beat up. There are so many splinters and uneven I had to put down a piece of underpayment for my office chair. Fiber mops are left full of splinters
Yes, it sounds as if your floor could use a refinishing. Often when flooring is old they either rip it out and install something more modern with a baked in finish, or they go right over the top of it and use that as a base for the new flooring. I'm curious, if your mops are full of splinters - how are you mopping it now?
I just really don’t like using a mop that I have to squeeze dirt into clean water! I have to use them at my two jobs. Of course it makes the floor look shiny but, the dirts still there! When I have my own place, I think I’ll go with one of the microfiber ones cause I know that it will hold onto most of the dirt and can be reused.
One of my clients had the ocedar and it is excellent to use on hardwood. In homes with laminate wood flooring I like to use the bona system. Great tips!
Probably a damp microfiber mop . I'm thinking of a mop like Microfiber Wholesale's 18" inch mop amzn.to/39PW7vF (paid link) that allows you to dust and damp mop with the various pads.
Yes, Hot water wrung out works just fine. You can also use a pH neutral floor cleaner. One drop of Sal Suds amzn.to/3hrgtLz in a bucket of hot water does wonders - and lasts forever.
Yes, there are various methods depending on the size and fiber of the rugs. Though you may consider hiring a professional. Carpet cleaning (Upholstery, and area rugs) is quite affordable these days and they have the technique and skill to control the amount of water, steam or chemical used, and escalate the drying process.
ALL my clients have bona mops. The "starter " kits come with the micro pad, fuzzy dry pad & sometimes spray or wet pads. The client is allowed to use the fuzzy between visits, I clean the floors. However, they seldom do. I have them spoiled.💜
A mixture of warm water and vinegar or a mild detergent should help. Just be sure to rinse thoroughly to avoid any residue left behind. Happy cleaning!❤
Hello, What do you recommend for cleaning old pecan wood from 50s? I also have on area that is slippery probably due to salt from ice melt, I think. Thank you kindly,🇺🇸
To clean old pecan wood from the 50s, start by dusting it with a soft-bristled brush. Mix a solution of warm water and mild dish soap or wood cleaner, and use a soft sponge or cloth to apply the solution to the wood. For tough stains or buildup, try using a solution of equal parts vinegar and water or a commercial wood cleaner. To remove salt buildup that may be causing a slippery area, mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water, apply it to the area, and rinse with clean water. Finally, protect the wood by applying a coat of wax or polish designed for use on antique or delicate woods. Hope this helps.
High traffic thru the back doors for the dogs. And everyone uses that door. Its like a mud toom then the kitchen. Thanks for your advice. Really like your videos. Really helpful. Thxs
Here is a video on LVP ruclips.net/video/Ud_sgM-pCNY/видео.html the key is to go gently because they can't take steam or water. The key is frequency of cleaning and with pH neutral floor cleaners and a damp microfiber mop.
Hi. I am so sorry for being so late to respond. Your options would be a laminate floor cleaner designed for laminate, a vinegar and water solution or a mild dish soap like dawn and water. Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate it! 🤗
I have a question about the Linkyo mop.. when you say you just rinse it out and use the wet side to mop, you are not using any cleaner then? I take it that is because you are doing light traffic areas?
@@AskAngelaBrown Can you recommend non chemical cleaner to keep in a spray bottle for spritzing in front of one of these type skinny microfiber pad mops?

Hoover SteamScrub Pro Steam Mop $48? Was that an error? I only see it for $180. I'm certainly not going to buy it for $180 if it was $48 a year ago. Maybe I will wait till Black Friday see what it prices at then.
No, it wasn't a mis-print but they've stopped making them like this and have newer and more expensive models. As of today this is the comparable model amzn.to/2IoRlUt
How do you clean luxury vinyl floors? There are some mops like e cloth or Norwex that only use water, no other cleaners. Would those be better on these floors since they don’t leave a residue?
It depends on how the mop is used, how often it is used, what it is used for and personal ergonomic preference of the homeowner. A professional might use an 18-inch professional microfiber flat head mop with washable heads, amzn.to/2w7PSzn while a homeowner might use a Libman spin mop for the same area amzn.to/2UcbWRg Things to consider when buying a mop are how tall are you and how long do you need the handle to be? Will you be using the mop in other people's homes? (If yes, you need one with replaceable heads so you don't cross contaminate.
I have the Bissell steamer, It works okay, What I hate about it is the mop heads after just one use I washed them and now when ever I use it, it puts off a gross musty odor that will not go away, I've washed in plain vinegar, laundry soap, even bleached them, and still they stink to high heaven.
@@AskAngelaBrown I don't think so I just used it on my tile floor wasn't anything really on it, washed them, and they've stunk since. Maybe I got a bad batch of mop heads .
No to the Rejuvenate Spray Mop. Not because it's not good, but as a professional it's not a product I've spent much time with so I can't recommend it. Here's a video I made for hardwood floors. ruclips.net/video/9nx43IzLyhA/видео.html the same rules apply with any flat mop head and reusable mop head system.

Love all your videos. Very informative
Thanks so much. I really appreciate you watching and dropping me a line. :-)
I have the shark steam mop. I Love it I have used other steamers but they leave the floor too wet but not this one. I also have the e-cloth mop I love as well for wood floors. I just feel uneasy using steam on wood.
I love my Bona Mop & my Bona infused wipes! 🥳
That’s great, I am so glad you are happy with the Bona system. 😊
Good to know, thanks for sharing these tips!
I have the Bissell. 15:26 Can we use it on engineered wood floors?
Thank You, I appreciate your help

Do any of these mops that have a pre filled canister have a canister that you can refill with your own cleaner??
Hi! 👏 This one has a removable canister that can be filled with any cleaning solution you like or the one they recommend: amzn.to/3CwVwJY (paid link). Hope this helps! 😀

Can u present a video on cleaning various types of tiled floors please and thank you 🌷
Thanks for watching and thanks for the request. I'll put it in the queue. :-)
Good to know! Thank you!
If I buy the boba liquid, can I use water to dilute it and use my cedar o mop with the solution?
Rwan, Checkout the Bona website: www.bona.com/en-us/products/professional/
Here you can determine the best Bona product for your needs and get instructions on how to best use it. 👍
Which mops are the best for old hardwood floors, our house was built in 1942.
Have the floors been refinished or sanded lately? Is it possible to use a flat microfiber mop if yes, that is what I would recommend.
Thanks Angela for so much info I am going to buy Bissell
Woot Woot! Let me know how you like it.
Will soft water be ok to use on these kind of steam cleansers?
Yes, soft water is generally safe to use in steam cleaners and can even be beneficial because it helps prevent mineral buildup in a steam cleaner
Thanks. Really appreciate the information.

We had a vinyl wood look floors installed recently. When I wash the floor I see hand prints from the installers. Must be the glue they used. How do I get that removed?
Sorry that there are handprints on your new floors. I suggest you call the installers and manufacturer to see how they suggest removing the handprints.
I really enjoy and learn a lot
I find the flat mop that you started the show if it’s also great for watching walls and ceilings if you need to

@@djvelasquez2643, are your floors finished with a polyurethane finish or are they the kind of floors that need to be waxed and buffed to look shiny?
@@wallihaley5194 no polyurethane on them natural.
Excellent review!!

Thank you for sharing your feedback and thanks for watching. 🙂

I appreciate you leaving a comment about mops. 👍
@@AskAngelaBrown your welcome 🤗
One of my clients had the ocedar and it is excellent to use on hardwood. In homes with laminate wood flooring I like to use the bona system. Great tips!
Thanks for sharing. :-)
My floors are unsealed hardwood what mop do you recommend
Probably a damp microfiber mop . I'm thinking of a mop like Microfiber Wholesale's 18" inch mop amzn.to/39PW7vF (paid link) that allows you to dust and damp mop with the various pads.
What do you do with the flat head mop when you have to rinse while mopping? You can't clean a whole floor by getting it wet one time.
+cindymovietheater with a flat head mop, you have multiple mop pads. They are pre-wetted, and you use them as you need them.
What do you use with the first mops? Just water?
Yes, Hot water wrung out works just fine. You can also use a pH neutral floor cleaner. One drop of Sal Suds amzn.to/3hrgtLz in a bucket of hot water does wonders - and lasts forever.
Angela, do you know how to clean area rugs?
Yes, there are various methods depending on the size and fiber of the rugs. Though you may consider hiring a professional. Carpet cleaning (Upholstery, and area rugs) is quite affordable these days and they have the technique and skill to control the amount of water, steam or chemical used, and escalate the drying process.
Can all of these mops be used on Laminate floors?
Sure! Just make sure to use a damp mop rather than a wet one to avoid water damage 👍
ALL my clients have bona mops. The "starter " kits come with the micro pad, fuzzy dry pad & sometimes spray or wet pads. The client is allowed to use the fuzzy between visits, I clean the floors. However, they seldom do. I have them spoiled.💜

WHAT IS BEST FOR CLEANING LAMINATE FLOORING?

I have a question about the Linkyo mop.. when you say you just rinse it out and use the wet side to mop, you are not using any cleaner then? I take it that is because you are doing light traffic areas?

Hoover SteamScrub Pro Steam Mop $48? Was that an error? I only see it for $180. I'm certainly not going to buy it for $180 if it was $48 a year ago. Maybe I will wait till Black Friday see what it prices at then.
No, it wasn't a mis-print but they've stopped making them like this and have newer and more expensive models. As of today this is the comparable model amzn.to/2IoRlUt
I like my doin cedar mop, but the handle needs to be longer.
O cedar
The swiffer wet mop I couldn't keep the cloth on mop?
I've heard the same complaints about both of those mops.
How do you clean luxury vinyl floors? There are some mops like e cloth or Norwex that only use water, no other cleaners. Would those be better on these floors since they don’t leave a residue?
What mop do you think is the best for residential house cleaning ? Considering I will be mopping hardwood and tile
It depends on how the mop is used, how often it is used, what it is used for and personal ergonomic preference of the homeowner. A professional might use an 18-inch professional microfiber flat head mop with washable heads, amzn.to/2w7PSzn while a homeowner might use a Libman spin mop for the same area amzn.to/2UcbWRg
Things to consider when buying a mop are how tall are you and how long do you need the handle to be? Will you be using the mop in other people's homes? (If yes, you need one with replaceable heads so you don't cross contaminate.
Great video 👍
Are wood floors that have some wear on it ok to use solution to shine it on the whole thing?
I have the Bissell steamer, It works okay, What I hate about it is the mop heads after just one use I washed them and now when ever I use it, it puts off a gross musty odor that will not go away, I've washed in plain vinegar, laundry soap, even bleached them, and still they stink to high heaven.
+Kelli why do the mop heads stink? Was it something in the floor they mopped up?
@@AskAngelaBrown I don't think so I just used it on my tile floor wasn't anything really on it, washed them, and they've stunk since. Maybe I got a bad batch of mop heads .
I love your videos! Would you recommend the Rejuvenate Spray mop for hard wood floors? I’m a new homeowner and need some help!
