Hey thanks for the video, always great to get side x side examples of really basic things that we all are trying to navigate. I did want to share my success with the Rode Wireless Go II and the OA3. Rather then using a bunch of adapters from Rode or any other company, I simply used the provided usb-c to usb-a cable from Rode to an Apple usb-a to usb-c adapter. It worked instantly, granted it is a year later and may be possible due to new firmware. Just wanted to share.
The real MVP of this video is the updated video quality of the Action 3. Hot dang! Awesome video again, Tamara!

More impressed with the Osmo Action 3 to be honest. I think that the native mic picks up audio very well. Plus the video is awesome. Lots of detail and pretty stable even at wider resolutions.
Since I bought the AC3 ..I am now looking at ordering an ACTION CAMERA 3 - MICROPHONE.
I am so glad you made this video on different product brands on microphone....

When i connect dji mic 2 with USB to my osmo action 3, the volume in the recording is low..i have tried changing all sets (gain, lowcut etc..) nothing changes..maybe you know why? Thank you🎉

Does DJI2 any possibility of wireless support similar to OA4 support wireless connectivity. How about diety pocket . Can you help with link if reviewed or review if you can. Also another mic I heard also does 32 bit float and so small .

Another well produced and interesting video, thanks. I've got good results with the Shure MV88+ and the Action 2 - should work with the Action 3 - gives an excellent stereo image but can also be set to mono. It gets power from the camera via the USB connection. I use a short pole between the camera and the mic, and fit the mic on the bottom of it. The mic can be inserted upside down in its holder, thus keeping left and right correct way round. Keeps the mic out of the frame.

Thanks for the video. I went in for the Rode VideoMicro as it was cheaper as a first mike. Attached it to the DJI Action 3 with a Rode adapter and had to turn the gain on the camera up to +20dB to make it work better. There's no gain on this Mike. I'm not that keen on the quality of the sound at all.
You don’t like the sound quality of the VideoMicro?
@@TamaraGabrielUK I have plugged it into an Mac Pro and into the Action 3. It sounds worse in the camera than it does the Mac. It sounds tinny in both. I am using the RØDE cable TRS too!!!. I might get it right. On the camera is just isnt strong enough to record more than 2 feet away
Yeah, it’s not really a power mic, it’s one of Rode’s cheapest ones. If you have the budge to grab a VideMic GO II you’ll get far better quality.
1st - Love your videos 2nd - I purchased your tripod listed but need some sort of adaptor to get it to connect to the DJI Action Camera. Do you have a link for the one you have there?

Which cable did you use with the VideoMic GO II? Was that the same cable used with the Wireless GO II? Really hope you're able to figure that out. You've sold me on the OA3.

Your studio set up looks and sounds amazing! For general use, do you prefer the dji mics or the rode wireless go set?
Thanks! For general use I prefer shotgun mics, in particular the Sennheiser MKE 400. But for wireless mics, I prefer the DJI wireless mic over the Rode Wireless GO II.
Great video, Tamara. The Rode VideoMic Go II sounded amazing, but the windshield getting in the frame puts me off buying it a little. I have a couple of questions that I’m hoping you can answer.
1. Is there a smaller windshield out there for the VideoMic Go II that could stop it being in the frame?
2. I had the DJI Wireless Mic for my iPhone, but I sent it back to Amazon due to it having really bad hiss. It could just be the preamps on the iPhone, but did you have the horrible hiss when using it on the Action 3?

Thanks! With the GO II, there isn't a smaller windshield for it. There might be smaller ones out there but Rode don't advertise any other than the WS-12 windshield for it. With the DJI Mic and issue you're getting with it hissing, I've not had that happen with mine.

Any answers on the Wireless Go II issue? I got my Action 3 today and supremely pissed off right now by the lack of resolution.
I’ve not found a fix yet. It’s odd because the Rode Wireless ME works great.
@@TamaraGabrielUK I've a couple of adapters coming tomorrow to see if I can connect the wireless GO II via the TRS-TRRS 3.5mm jack. I first thought the Osmo 3 was faulty but seeing your video makes me realise its "normal". It reeks of sabotage on DJi's part.

For a shotgun mic I like the Rode VideoMic GO II or the Sennheiser MKE 200. For wireless mics I like the DJI Wireless Mic system.

I’m using Boya BY-M100UC, and to be honest I’m very happy with it. Even with the ultra wide it’s not visible in the frame :)

As I’ve said in the video the H11 video quality is superior, but for the price the A3 is very good. But that’s just my opinion.

Is there a discrepancy with TRS and TRRS interconnecting cables?
It's not using a TRS cable, it's a using USB-C cable.
A couple more iterations and DJI Mic is definitely going to catch up to the Rode in terms of quality.

They can be cheaper if you go with the single channel option if you don’t need to record two people at once. Working on the Action 2 and Action 3 comparison, I’ve already started getting footage 😊 I’ve just got a few other videos to finish first.

BTW I did comment on your previous video about mke 400. I bought mke 400 for my Canon m50 but self noise of this mic is a lot. I tried in different settings but couldn't get some usable results. Any recommendations?
For dji action 3 I had ulanzi j12 wireless USB c microphone but whenever I attach it with my action 3, camera freezes after few seconds. I have ordered dji wireless mic and it's coming tomorrow, let's see how it goes.
Sorry, I must have missed your other comment. With the MKE 400, did you set the +20dB on the mic?

🚨 ANY INFORMATION WHY THE RODE WIRELESS GO 2 IS NOT WORKING?
My setup works fine. Got actioncam 3 and rode wireless go2. I use a cheap generic usb c cable, use it for motovlogs and regular vlogs. Connect cheap lav mic on the helmet.
@@jarrow99 thanks for this. This is reassuring as I've also seen a video where they used a $3 USBC-C cable and it worked fine. Seems that it's down to possible overcomplication on the cables 🤷♂
Rode Video Mic was best. I use Comica Vimo C wireless with my GoPro Hero 10 Black.

can you connect DJI Mic 2 wirelessly to action cam 3?
The video quality in the opening sequence is not very good, the stabilisation isn't very effective and the sharpness is clearly lacking. Is there some reason for this other than the Action 3 itself? In fact the footage from the Action 3 in general seems to be a bit iffy, or is it just me? Maybe my decision to go for the Insta 360 RS 4K was and is still a good one.
As to the audio I’m coming at this from a consumer, not creator, angle (I don’t create content nor do I know much, if anything, about content creation). I watch quite a few videos by MarkusPix. His audio and video are of very good quality, but as far as the audio goes there is a problem. He records all his audio remotely, not in camera and as this guy seems to be stuffed full of cash the gear he uses is top quality. So what is the problem? Well the audio seems to be detached from the video. The quality is great, the synchronisation is spot on but the issue for me is that the audio seems to be coming from somewhere else, like the video has been dubbed after shooting. There is a total lack of ambient response. He’s in a field, in a room, in a - well whatever and the audio sounds the same, like he is in a sound treated studio. So in my opinion although you don’t want too much ambient noise, reverb, reaction and so on, some is needed so that the audio sounds right, sounds alive, sounds appropriate to the location of the video (which, by the way, yours does).
Yeah, the quality (or lack there of) that you see is just what the Action 3 produces.
