Sound design is so overwhelming for me as a beginner, but this makes it feel so simple and it helps a lot to see the end to end process! Thanks man, this is great!
Yes it can be. But it is actuallty fun. I love it. I mostly record my own sounds sometimes. But you can use also the original sound if you recorded it nicely. Half of the sound he uses aren't even necessary cause they aren'tt even noticeable once you overlay the song on top. But his process is right as in if you are not using any music.
I started as a sound engineer then transitioned into film. Love this video and its detail to sound design. Very helpful video to add dimension for viewers. Another tip I use regularly is panning so sounds aren’t fighting so much down the middle.
True. But this is a vertical commercial and everything is centred here. Panning wouldn't actually fit very well in here. But I use panning in larger projects.
I've seen so many sound effect videos but this is the best one of the bunch! I can practically use these tips and get started right away. Awesome work man.
Love sound design, it is really fun and amazing how laying ambient sounds c change the mood and feel of shots . bring them to life . Thank you for this episode. always get ideas and learn from you .
THANK YOU this video was excellent and taught what I've struggling to understand about sound design. You really are a good teacher!!!! Thank you so much.
For a small videographer who has only been doing videography for about a year now, this is amazing! Sound design is always the hardest step in editing for me so this really helps out!! Great stuff
So I'm here to help you, my friend. Keep in mind -6db for sfx an -12db for music. This rule is not always as simple as that, because many time a sfx is more acute than other, so u have to lower the volume of them, also some sfx are more bassy than other, so u have to increase the volume. But this levels are de basics to guide you.
@@nicolaspitone this is not a rule, you have to test how the whole sound work together gona sounds, but the -12 for music and -6 for sfx it’s a good start to mixing
Can't get tired watching this is so amazing, please Schif can you do some tutorial on the project's title graphics and project export resolution settings thanks in advance bro
Another Master Class! Thanks for this one something I always struggle with is finding the right search in Epidemic but 100% Sound design is super important and shouldn't be a afterthought or some people even just leave it out 😵 Thanks for sharing the workflow 💪
Dude your videos are complete FIRE!!! I've been watching a TON of your content recently to try to get ideas for our print and apparel shop's social pages. I just did the same thing you did with the cinnamon for our stickers and it looked really cool, only thing is I have no idea what to do for a full ad. like the one clip is cool but I don't know what to do for engaging cool ads for this type of business, Any ideas?
Good job, only sound I would add is a ice Klink to when the ice hits the glass. But then I am an obscure film maker in Perth WA and you are a multi million sub you Tuber. So what would I know? Love the work and the horse animation is a great addition. 👍
Nice! Very good tutorial, Daniel. Congratulations! I'm starting in sound design and i wanna ask if you could allow me to make a redesign of the commercial
How do u get the horse to run on the bottle, my God u are very good. Have been watching you for years now and what software do u use to create this commercial
Bro, i love youre videos and i must say, youre channel and your work has been an inspirational way to make me star filming and editing videos, im a graphic designer but i've never worked in this world... may i ask, do you used Adobe premier? can you please make a tutorial video of how u use it editing one of your videos? i know u have some videos showing how u edit them but not like "know how" kinda style... would you do it?
I have a question (it might be dumb but bare with me 😅) the SFX volume should be at the same level of the music or less? Like what’s the sweet spot for it? Thank you ✌🏼
what is your process/thinking when adjusting the volume on your music and SFX. And dialogue if you have it. I tend to struggle when I mult SFX that it the sound is too high and peak the overall audio, or I tone it down to stay under 0dB and you can barely hear the SFX. Or music depending on what is affecting the video most.
I just want to say, humbly, just don't do this on your video editot. I'm amazed at seeing Daniel doing so. Obviously, he is a successful pro and I'm no one but using any DAW will give you tons of new possibilities and once you handle it you'll save precious time, lots of it. Other than that, Daniel is brilliant and the video illustrates the role of sfx perfectly well. Epidemic Sound looks super pro.too. Thanks!!
Any darn fool can make something complex; it takes a genius to make something simple. And this man is a genuis...
Wtf...
that's fkn stupid!

I always wonder if the videos have a wonderful sound effect/design. Thank you for sharing, it also takes time ;))

@@Leprutz wasn’t specifically focusing on this commercial, just wanted to add another tip for others that might want/need it
@@DreBuado Ah sorry. I didn't want to deny your tip which is excellent by the way. I said so others would maybe also understand.
Got ya. 👍
@@Leprutz dang if I sounded too strong, I didn’t mean it that way. I appreciate you

Very helpful video. You make sound design look so simple, while it is actually not. Haha

You’re amazing bro! I have just started doing film with no background in shooting and editing but these videos helps alot. Thanks👊🏻
One thing no one ever shows is how they decide if a sound effect is too loud or quiet!
Apart from that this video was extremely beneficial!
So I'm here to help you, my friend.

-12 isn’t too quiet for the music ? I personnally put the music about -6db but maybe I’m wrong 😕
@@nicolaspitone this is not a rule, you have to test how the whole sound work together gona sounds, but the -12 for music and -6 for sfx it’s a good start to mixing
@@lem.visions and at the end do you increase the entire sound to go to 0db ?
