I'm in the process of creating a RUclips channel and while editing my first video I was getting caught up with finding the right music and audio for my intro. All of this lead me down the rabbit hole of sound design and this was the most impactful one I've watched. I loved how you did a lot more showing than telling, with clips like the temple. Showing how much value and atmosphere sound made to what would otherwise be an uninteresting clip. Absolutely fantastic video!
Extra tips : Use low pass , high pass , band pass , EQ and slow your audios to be creative
true, especially matching the speed ofsound design with the speed ramps makes it so much better.
As motion designer i can say YES! the sound it's too important for the video and the history.
Wow!! Thank you so much for this.
“A thing of Beauty is Joy Forever!”
Thank you guys again! Another very well crafted video on an extremely important topic. And yes, Cee-Roo's videos are amazing!
Oh yeah!! His videos are a big inspiration to me. Thank you for the nice words, Harri!
i was on a video about the remaster of AOE2, many nostalgic fanboys say the og are better , while i replied the og were clumsily composed with weird sororities and the new ones were more medieval sounding, and then there's an idiotic guy who came to annoy me . he said that just cause he's a "composer" the og would be made with better talent, which is just plain stupid. he don't tell us how for which studio he worked so i assume he passed himself for a troll with a big vocabulary, with technical words. if he was a composer , he's then incapable to distinguish his own style to decent instrumentation. this was enough for him to get thumbs by naive fanboys. that's why i despise audio designers since then. i dunno why i tell you this but it's very present on my mind.
This was the best video I’ve seen on WHY and WHEN you should add sounds, not just how to use them in your editing tool. Thank you!
This is an outstanding introduction to sound design for web videos! Thank you for posting it. I plan on sharing it with my students!
Sound is so important! I almost always chose and design a soundtrack before even filming. Helps inspire. Great video and thanks for sharing!
Me too

Love it! Great work! Power to Sound Design & Sound Science! Thanks for sharing and showing how to create the most powerful audiovisual experiences!
As an experimental producer i value music a ton more than usual users and feels great seeing people out there stating it
straight love from Kenya
You just changed the way i see sfx, man you are a inspiration,

Super useful video! Very well explanined. It´s time to dig into sound desing. Sometimes it´s hard to do well all the aspects of a video, and being good at so muchs skills, but we need to do it.
YESSSS VideoCopilot for theh win!! Man.. They were the OG! So glad their product is still so relevant. AC was truly a visionary

Good work guys! Thanks for tips :)
The video is really helpful. Thanks for sharing. I'm kind of new in the film industry and trying to figure out the starting point in this sound design area.
yeah it takes time but it worth the effort 👏
6:15 brilliant lad, brilliant
The visuals are amazing. Also the come grading. Please do a video on them
yeah. I love come grading. Its the best. It adds so much to films. This needs another tutorial even if its already done.
The guy Cee-Roo is actually a God of sound design and music producer. i cant tell how important the sound is. but I can definitely point out beginner and pro from watching their video with or without putting effort on sound design
Thank u for this video!!!

Sound effects is a problem to me too
Nice bro
Girl in thumbnail has her headphones on backwards I know because I am wearing the same ones right now
Great video , if there is a voice over would you add a sound effect ?
can you suggest best courses for sound design and audio mixing for films
So helpful man ! I would like to ask you what levels of db you using for sound effects and for the music? Because i have the same problem as you said that people are not recognised the SFX in the videos bcs its too low. I try to use like -6db for music a -3 for SFX but still its not a result i like. Thanks!
Usually we tone it down to -5 or -10 db for most SFX, however, sometimes you dont have to do anything to the levels. Its soo hard to explain, I'd reconmend editing your videos on 60-70% of the value and then check it on the phone after rendering it to see whether you can notice the sound effects or not (on phones also try to listen to it at around 60-70% volume) 😊
Its that kind of a thing where you jusy get used to it and then will be able to do it naturally without any problems
good video
Hi, how loud should sound design be? I use Essential Sounds panel to keep audio d ucking to dialogue at -18db. How low should SFX be in relation to music, dialogue, and both? Thanks
Thank you DreamDuo Films. Do you add your SFX after you add your theme music score?
Usually we first choose music because sometimes music itself changes the mood of the video, thus changing our choice of sound effects
Bro you have edited the sounds of Kenya but how dis that sound effects came into your mind that I have to use that sound effects into that video please tell me the full concept of sound where to ise it properly
My first try with sound design: ruclips.net/video/QpbXKeDclmA/видео.html
where is this temple sitiuated and what is it called? Plese do answer this, I want to visit this place
how do u get the music to be original and unique if there is no sound track. Are there music tract libraries one can get music from. I don't mean artist music, just neutral and unique music?
Where do you Admin get the sound effects?
awesome video! quick note - calling what you're doing as 'sound design' is a bit of a stretch at best - its more 'sound effects editing'. sound design is a whole craft in itself that goes far deeper than what is being shown here... but props for taking your audio seriously!
Thank you!. I'm a beginner and I needed this video so much. + is there any free sites where you can get sound effects for free?
freesound :D
Not really sure about that, however Epidemicsound only costs around 10 bucks per month if you're doing RUclips!
Zapsplat is a sort of community driven website. There are tonnes of sound. There is a drawback, you can only download 4 sfx in a 10 minute gap......(pardon me for the shitty grammer)
@@deepakfrancis5674 thank you 😊
sound design ,, sound mixing was same or different
Which software is used
Do you ever get bird nerds complain that they're hearing the wrong birds singing in the video?
I would love to get a comment like that
What is the name of this sound in the ''sfx pack' ?? 4:46
It`s video copilot MotionPulse.
Awesome video! How did you make the background at 4:45? What it's called?
Thanks, man! There's no specific name for it, I simply made it in After Effects by combining different grunge overlay textures, and then applying Fractal noise as a displacement map
@@DreamDuoFilms Thanks for the reply!
@@DreamDuoFilms Which software for sound design
Sound on 8:05 what would be the name of that sound?
The skateboard example was a reference from Peter Mckinnon's video right?
I'm afraid not, did he say something similar? I used that example because my girl and I were skateboarding that day haha
@@DreamDuoFilms Yeah i was totally guessing, btw you should watch his video of sound design, he dis said something very similar to what u said. Could be a total coincidence. Btw nice video mate.
@@tarunthakur Thanks, man! I checked it out! Wow, we legit said the same thing, wtf haha
@@DreamDuoFilms see😅 thats why i was like dude I heard the same thing somewhere else.
Importance of sound design... just watch nigahiga's mime video
how can i study this?
Where is the SFX pack ?? Link
It is called "Motion Pulse" You can purchase it on Video Copilot
@@DreamDuoFilms any free SFX pack... From your suggestions...?!
My problem is… I don’t have any footage to work with. I know that sounds stupid but if my speciality is in sound design and editing, I don’t really have to desire to shoot quality footage.
Noice! S K Y N E T Is *Online*
Where is that temple
Wat Bang Thong / Thailand
@@DreamDuoFilms thanks I must go there....
now do “art of editing”
dont use video co-pilot every film maker uses them and i used them back in day one when it was the rage on youtube
make your own music
THIS VIDEO IS TRULY TIME WAISTING AND USELESS
Thank you
