For me, music. I was a band nerd in school, but life hit me after I graduated and I stopped. I’ve tried picking it back up, but wasn’t ready. I think I’m ready, now!
Hi, I understand trying to get back into your art as I have had this also. I did what you did and just took the pressure off myself and just created with no expectation of an outcome. The art wasn't bad it was just for me. It was creating art for arts sake or mental health art creation. I really enjoy you and your videos. You seem hard on yourself and if this is true, just try to say to yourself what you would say to a friend that you are trying to encourage. ♥️ Thank you for putting yourself out there and inspiring others like myself.
you said you gave up on art a long time ago but girl what have you been doing all these years other than art??? you've been DELIVERING art every month!
As a creative who recently started learning photography, it's a breather to watch you take photos. Sometimes I forget that the whole essence of taking pictures is being present and having fun and not minding "too much" of the technical aspect of photography (it depends on what type of photography though). Sure, it's essential to know the rule of thirds, exposure triangle, framing, etc., but I realize I'm so focused on these things that I forgot to appreciate beautiful landscapes, human interactions, and wholesome moments. So I think that you only need to know the basics in photography, and you will learn the rest through experience.
linh genuinely needs to make a coming of age movie. yes. i'm being serious. on another note though, thanks for sharing your experiences about falling in love with art again !! i am so freaking close to the end of finals, and i have not been able to create art as much as i could. this is really inspirational, so again thank you for this video
15:35 noooo dont be overrr !! This was so fun to watch and I am inspired to get back into my hobbies and interests that I have neglected. Thankyou for making this video !! It has been very good food for thought.
linh!! i've been following you since bookstagram era, and then discovering your youtube channel, and i just wanna say your filming and editing skills improve a lot. i keep falling love again and again. as someone who also in love with art and currently doing art, your video is one of my source of inspirations especially when i'm having bad day and art block again. so thank you and keep it up! love ya
this video made my inner child CLAW their way up from the depths within me in hopes that i'd let her resurface so we could be that creative person again. if not better by combining who i was with who i am.
I resonate very strongly with this; I used to love art, I was constantly creating and playing and trying new mediums and creative outlets… and then somewhere along the line I just, stopped. I stopped enjoying the process, I would pick up a sketchbook and then put it right back, I had genuinely become afraid of making art. I’m trying to fix that now, and this video has inspired me a lot to take even more steps in the right direction 🖤 I loved this video, you can really tell you had fun making this content and I love to see it 🥰
Every time a picture is shown, the shutter sound of the camera that has taken the picture is playing. This is the first video that I watched from Linh but wow. Just amazing. This is great. I'm one of the people that mixes bands at live shows, so sound design is very close to my heart. And this Video has it all and it makes all the difference. So good.
THE INTRO. bro. A MASTERPIECE!!! Thank you so much Linh, I am so glad that I came across one of your videos a few years ago, you inspire me so much!! 💌
I wrote a comic story in pandemic but never actually finished drawing the first chapter of it. I drew many versions of it but it never felt right, it never passed the emotion and the meaning i wanted to transmit. Now, some years later i still am in this journey to not let perfectionism take over but at the same time forgiving myself for taking my time since the story and characters are so dear to me and helped me a lot Your videos are really important to me and this one helped me to continue this journey and persisting in this story tha is so dear to me, and maybe, make other ones Thank you Linh!
I've waited my whole life to see Linh's drawings 😭 and it's worth it. Girl, you're so good at storytelling and connecting things. Yes, I've always gotten inspirations from you. I'm gonna make more ugly mess. Thank you for encouraging me
I NEEDED THIS ive been feeling this so bad it sent me into a depressive episode. As an animation student who didnt even make it into the entertainment industry.. Thank you for this! this was so calming and freeing
Every new video is better than the previous one, it's incredible how much you are growing. I've completeley fell in love with you're aesthetic and your art in general. Thank you for inspiring us❤
Im absolutely in love with the aesthetic of your videos and honestly youve made me realize how much i really am drawn to cinematography and photography 🤗
that intro was some of the best i've seen from youtube in a while. haven't finished the video yet, but i wish you the energy to create for as long as possible :,)
this!!! is so important!!! trying to love making art again is something that I'm actively pursuing at the moment, and ya learning to be ok with "failures" is a huge part of that. i took an acting gened this past semester and the professor was awesome. for someone who has never acted before it was surprisingly inspiring to be in a completely new medium where i could not put pressure on myself to be good at something. it's been a while since i had that perspective and ability to just play around without an inner critic and i think practicing play will really help me loosen up and worry less about making perfect things as long as the process is enjoyable :)
Hi Linh, I follow you since you were on highschool and I'm always amazed of how much you've grownth over the years not only you as a person but also the quality of your content is incredible, is always at the top, in a world where people treat art like disposable I love that you take your time to work on yours when you feel most inspired and discover different things that best suits your style, I think art and inspiration is like life itself, don't always go as planned and some things come and go so enjoy the moment you have creating even if it's not perfect, there will be times where it will be better and others don't, it's difficult. Send you loveee🤗
Thank you so much for this inspiration ❤ For the past couple of years I’ve been reflecting on the fact that I’ve given up on my creative journey and losing the spark of generating creative ideas constantly, like I used to do during childhood/adolescence. Now I’m trying to find this spark again while juggling 9 to 5 and other boring adult responsibilities, I think your videos are really helping me with that. And I’m super grateful that I even have time to dedicate it for this process 🙏
Wowhhh this vid so goooddd!!! Also the reminder of “your never to old to create,” is much neededddd!!! N yisss, I’m also crying that Yuri on Ice isn’t getting a S2, so I’ll just watch S1 FOREVER🗣️
ahhh linh you are so insanely inspiring! this finally gave me the push to start drawing again this year, after over a year of basically stopping bc of burnout. i love how much creativity and effort you put into all your videos. like this truly helped me get out of an insanely long creative block, and its been so fun both drawing and doing photography again, especially just focusing on the process and not caring about how the final result comes out!
I feel so comforted by your Vietnam story. I went back to the region where I'm from in October/ November and I felt so much pressure to share the photographs and an essay about it but even though I worked on it, I just didn't feel ready. So I'm gonna let it marinate now. It feels like you've given me permission :')
This might be my favorite video that you've ever done! I feel like so many of us creatives are in this spot of wanting to fall back in love with our crafts again. I really appreciated you giving yourself permission to be bad at something haha because I think that's something I struggle with too. Also, the whole thing about timing and staying relevant really stuck with me too. I'm hoping to take my time with my art this year and really learn to enjoy the process again. Thanks for sharing this, and good luck with your creative endeavors!
I need to apply to art school over winter break so I am doing art every hour of every day and when I’m taking a break so I don’t collapse I’m watching videos of people doing art. Live laugh love art.
i've been following since your college acceptance video and watching your creative journey through the years has been so incredibly inspiring!! you have developed such a unique style and every second of your videos feels so satisfying and aesthetic and purposeful!! so much love, big fan ♡♡♡
this video came out at the perfect time! I love painting and art in general and especially over the course of the last few weeks I did a lot of it, but it was all gifts, commissions etc for others. I rlly enjoyed doing it haha, but now I have motivation again to try out new techniques and do something again just for the fun of it, and for myself and my happiness. I love love loveee your editing!
As someone who is a digital media/film major but also loves graphic design, this really helped me. Most days I have a block and have no idea what to do but ik I want to do something. taking a step back may seem simple to other people but it's actually quite hard when you love what you're doing. it was nice to hear from an outside pov.
i've been struggling to make art again after months, and your video just dropped at the perfect time. i cannot thank you enough for the inspiration you've brought to my life ever since i became your follower. i hope you'll continue doing the things you love and inspiring people like i am ✨
Watching this while I color for the first time since over the summer. I’ve been really busy with school so I haven’t had time to be creative, thanks for inspiring me again Lin!
Your videos have inspired me to just LIVE for so long. Every time you post I know I have to make some time to sit down with a snack and a drink and really watch. You make your videos so good and just so artsy and for some reason in my lowest points they always lift me up and motivate me to keep going, the way you film, edit and narrate it all really reminds me that life can be good sometimes and is beautiful too :) So I definitely think you have been making art with these videos all this time
Omg what a joy to stumble upon this channel! This is getting me through some rough winter depression times and i'm so grateful 🥲 This video comforted me so much thank you!
ahh these types of videos always remind me that we can create even if we don't always feels like it---it's just about getting into a rhythm along with trying something new!! Honestly it's been super weird because I just graduated college and now have so much free time; drawing is always how I fill time, but now that I have more of it, I want to keep finding different hobbies and experiences. Having new experiences and routines informs my art a lot of the time because then I can tell my stories with more enthusiasm. This is a very long-winded way of saying I appreciate the little end message at the end. :'] Our stories deserve to be told
Currently watching this as I knit! Actually never found great interest in particularly starting to knit, but I just knew that I wanted to make my mom a scarf in her favourite color to honour my grandma's hobby of knitting. That's when I realised that other people are subconsciously my motivation for continuing to be creative way more than I am to myself
this video was sooo cute, I actually felt pretty close to what you described..it's like I've lived in a pause mode where all the academics goals were at the first place and all the rest was left behind, thank you for the inspo❤😽
Hey Linh! I've been watching your videos since you were a high school senior and it feels so crazy to me that I am now a senior myself! This has truly been one of my favourite videos of yours (along with the Iceland vlog) so thank you so much for creating these beautiful videos for us

piano!! i watched your first vlogs and went, "LINH PLAYS THE PIANO??"
someone told me they liked my writing recently and it really stuck so that's what i want to keep doing!!

this is a great sentiment - I think it's important to leave room to play and let go of rules and technicalities

This video is art bro. The intro is pure CINEMA
Pissing myself @ you drawing min yoongi's hands. This is amazing.
This whole video feels butter smooth in it's fps, it feels like the moment you switch from 60hz screen to a 144hz ;)
This woman could talk about anything with the editing and color palette of that opening section and I'd be there for it. Your planet looks like home.
