Recently started selling jackfruit at my work. It's been going great so far. People seem to love it once they've had it. It's a unique fruit that I'm glad we get to share with people.
I live in the US. Our Costco had Jack fruit for sale. I had never seen it before and bought it out of curiosity. Now I am not sure about it. It is not soft yet but has a small spot of mold on the skin (aroles?).
Very good presentation, you done and shown beautifully, looks everything perfect in your video, continue success in your RUclips journey, have a enjoyable day , see u around in my world, lk750
Do you have a video or can you recommend a good one about the different varieties of jackfruit? The kind I buy here in Florida (asian markets and wholefoods) are 15-25 lbs and perfectly oblong in shape. When I let them ripen to soft spots there’s absolutely no sticky latex. They are super flavorful and sometimes chewy(not squishy like the one in your video) I am not sure of the variety.
would it be better to leave the fruit on the tree and waiting until it smells sweet before harvesting it instead of harvesting it earlier and setting it aside for a week or more to fully ripen?
That What We Do Here in The Philippines Let the Jackfruit ripen on the Tree if Your planning if it for your own Consumption but if Your going to Sell It's harvest it Just before it Ripen when the Aroma is Just Slightly Fragrant..
I'm allergic to la latex, and the first time I ate jackfruit, I got a little itchy and rash, but my hands suffered the most because I didn't use glove, now I use oil in my hands and took benadryl before eating them, so I just got rash in my hands but no like the first time (I don't use gloves, because is to hard to work with them)
That is exactly a chempeduk not a jackfruit , that ripe fruit is chempeduk, and that fruit you harvest from the tree is a jackfruit :)) thanks for sharing this video :))
I got delivered all the jackfruit that I can't leave it long to be ripened. It got ruined very fast when it just becomes to be soft. I have to open it when it's still hard and green, therefore, it's hard to be preserved. Or i have to eat the whole 35 lbs in a few days. Dilemma!
No. But be sure to use latex gloves or if you're going to handle it with your bare hands be sure to dab a drop of cooking oil to your palms it will minimize the latex from sticking too much.. You can wash the arils with running water for secs and drain them.
Hi, I have a jackfruit growing from seed it has a small stem with a tiny leaf starting to grow. when is it a good time to start fertilizing it?.....Love your videos!
+Rosemary Maciel no don't fertilize it now, let it grow slow one foot or more, use organic fertilizer and don't water too much, beware chemical fertilizer can burn your plant and over watering can cause roots rot and kill it.
You jackfruit tree still small have to many fruit when the jackfruit still small keep the good one 2 or 3 fruit the rest cut it off that will help tree strong and healthy.
This is not regular jackfruits sold on line. This soft kind is easy to be open and stored in the fridge and eaten right after you take it out. I don't like this clip. Doesn't solve the problem.
@@griffinc3263 yes, but jackfruit is not that soft, pretty sure it's either a hybrid between cempedak and jackfruit, or some kind of cempedak / soft jackfruit

I let mine ripen on the tree in Florida
Living in Asia - my mom used to throw the seeds in the oven or boil them - Yummmm!! (but understandable you growing seedlings)
Awesome info... But growing up on a farm we was taught never to mention what you would do to the plants in front of the plants...

You open the chempeduk fruit similar with the jackfruit

Try the Magnolia Or Eviarc Variety The Evairc has Way less Latex Ang Very Sweet it's the Sweetest Jackfruit Variety from the Philippines..
Great video! I just cut open a BIG ripe jackfruit and it only had 4 arils in it! Why would that happen?
Lol
Not enough pollination .. happens in stand alone trees
You can make a jackfruit jam and use it as tart filling 😋😋😋😋
would it be better to leave the fruit on the tree and waiting until it smells sweet before harvesting it instead of harvesting it earlier and setting it aside for a week or more to fully ripen?
it probably would be tastier but you can harvest it and then put it in a bag with bananas once it's mature enough if you're impatient

Ok so now i'm ready to head to Bravo and get a jackfruit to prepare with my chickadees!
Does this mean people allergic to latex should not eat jackfruit? Please someone answer as I'd like to try this but my sons are allergic to latex.

I think the latex is only in the white stringy bits, not the yellow fruit.

which one gives better dehydration result the ripen one or the one which is about to ripe?
also when it is time for me to transplant the jackfruit what type of soil should I use?
Coconut hust soil probably, or ground coffie bean soil

Does the latex stick to the fruit pods? How do you clean them before eating them?

you've got a bad variety of jackfruit.. here in the province of the Philippines that kind of variety we're throwing it away or make jam .
I think you need to put your earphones on when you are watching the video they said it is not the best jack fruit and a B grade Jackfruit.

Hey Rosemary, do you still have your jackfruit tree? i'm also growing 2, and one of them is 4 months old, and growing like crazy!
Thank you!
It doesn’t look good tbh isn’t it supposed to be orange
PotSticker Hax listen to what say in the video. They said it is a B grade jack fruit and they also said it is not that ripe.
can I use jackfruit to make smoothies?
Alex Sauceda yeah you can
you can use it for whatever you want. vegans sometimes use it as a meat substitute because its fibrous like meat.
Whitch month freezarthat jack fruit?
I can see why they dont sale these in popular grocery stores. Not exactly commercial friendly.
i've bought some at a good price at a southeast asian grocery store near me.
we just bought ours at our local chain grocery store called Publix. Most jackfruits aren't like what is in the video. And they are delish!
Best thing for diabetics
Why not let it ripen on the tree?
over ripe,
Are you saying, ARROWS? you said hundreds of arrows inside... please clarify thank you..
Arils, this is the edible fleshy part of the fruit that surrounds the seed.
@@daleysfr lol, thank you! I was actually cutting up a jackfruit that I picked here on Maui. I love to pick them when I can...

my tree have jackfruit
mushy ,mushy , it should be firm , and crunchy
This is a soft variety of jackfruit. The more popular one is the firm variety.
We call this cempedak.. Jackfruit is different fruit that we call nangka.. 😂
rossi mama agreed..cempedak is less firm than jackfruit
This is not cempedak. There are 2 varieties of jackfruit, crunchy and soft

That's an Over ripe Fruit 😅😅 Throw it Away.
