So the JUDGE allows the defense attorney to control the trial 🤬 I don’t think most people understand how powerful Judges are in this country. On top of that there are no consequences for Judges, who, like in this case, use their power to invoke their own political agendas in a criminal proceeding where justice is supposed to be blind. I don’t blame the defense attorney because it sounds like this guy was already a scumbag and scumbags usually never disappoint. But, the Judges decisions, and allowing a defense attorney to run the courtroom is disgusting!! There needs to be more light shined on the horrible Judges we have in this country!!

Nailed that statement perfectly! The Judge in this case is clearly corrupt as much as the criminal.
I'm not defending all police because some of them think a shield gives them a right to break laws, but clearly Meagan was there to perform her duty & ended up the victim of a thug attack. If I was the Judge, I would have recommended a life sentence in Haiti. There would have been so much fanfare on his Haiti arrival, all the signs would have read "NEW DRUG LORD ARRIVES TO CONTROL ISLAND
      ALL BY HIMSELF"

How I found it was a short reel about Rob O’Neil. I ended watching the podcast and he really knew a LOT of information plus his own background really destroyed Rob’s credibility. I don’t know if you saw the Waco episode.. he did quite a bit of homework for that one too. Which is pretty impressive since it’s just these guys and maybe a camera/sound guy?? I found out more about Waco in that hour than I did from any documentary I’ve watched in the last 30 years.

God bless Meagan for being the great person that she is. I agree with her that a BWC would have made no difference, as this was a case of jury nullification. Meagan is also in the minority of the types of women whom I've met in big city police departments in that she wasn't on a power trip and didn't seem to have anything to prove. Having said that, where I worked, it would've been normal for a female officer to back out of that situation or hold the suspect at gunpoint until backup arrives. De-escalation was not possible in that situation and should've been recognized as such. I'm biased by the fact that where I worked, Meagan's situation was VERY common.

Victorville is also known as Victimsville for the people who live there. Crime is really bad there, and their is a culture where criminals are idealized and police are looked at as the bad guys. I left there in 2010 and joined Navy EOD. Only been back a couple of times since then. Great episode and channel guys!

This story is the reason why women dont belong in law enforcement. Her size probably led to this guy deciding he could take her on. She admitted she does all the martial arts training and is physically active. And none of what she was doing was having any effect. She thought prior to this that her male coworkers always come by if things get physical. Well sometimes back up isn’t around the corner. And law enforcement isn’t the kind of job where trying your hardest is enough to save your life.

Having female partners, or working solo, or having a
SWAT partner are all different scenarios. Outside of unicorn type events, I don’t think you can clearly say one is safer than the other. We hear about the nightmare scenarios, but we don’t know about the 500 times the guy decided to not “twist off” because the female partner asked him a question instead of asserting control.

The same people screeching “women are different,” from the rooftops are the same people that were screeching “but muh 20 pull-ups,” 12 years ago in the Marine Corps.
I will say that I’m glad she highlighted the 2014-2016 days. Those affected the military quite a bit too. But, the “future of our country” rhetoric when referencing a draft dodger; that uses magic marker to adjust the trajectory of storms on national TV; recommends injecting bleach to stop COVID; and absconds with classified documents that are so sensitive we don’t even know how sensitive they are (because the portion marks are fucking classified); lol GTFOH.

I'm not saying this to sound Macho but I feel like people who have never been punched in the face before either by youth or by boxing in the academy should not be cops because truthfully you have no idea how your going to react. I have seen some of the biggest most Jacked dudes crumble after getting punched gently one time in the face. Then I have seen people you would never expect the complete opposite. One of the great things about the big city departments such as Philly PD NYPD they still have boxing in the academy and a handful of people do quit after they get punched in the head or face for the first time (at least they did in the mid-2000s still).
