Expanding a little on why ROG1 is no.1. There is no other truck out there from major brands or cheap Chinese brands that offer this level of performance. 48mph out the box on 3s is crazy and that's speeds the ARRMA Grom range can only dream of! Rlaarlo have made a massive comeback after issues they previously had with some of their older models and shipping etc. Some channels reported durability issues and snapped driveshafts but lets remember no RC truck is made to be run at skateparks and any car that is will break at some point. Is a skatepark durability test (as seen on other channels) required to tell me this is an awesome truck? Absolutely not and since owning mine i have never replaced anything on it as i run at 'Normal' bashing locations such as those you see in my vids. Now some may say that's boring.. Look we all enjoy our toys differently. For the massive majority that dont run at skateparks especially BEGINNERS the ROG1 will tick every box just turn the power down a little! If you are a beginner and want to run at skateparks get a HBX 16889 and i will be shocked if you do break it! Enjoy!
Have you done a video on the Mjx 16207 the buggy basher looking one it solves the stability issue on the smaller scale (1:16) and also comes with a 3s LiPo!
Have you had a chance to look at the “clones” from ZD Racing and JIUSI? The JIUSI comes with more batteries and a better charger for the same price. As far as I can tell the trucks are mostly identical.
Haiboxing 2997a is pretty much indestructible and does 45mph out of the box for a 1/12 scale. Only complaint is battery compartment but other than that it should definitely place somewhere near the mjx
You refer the Mega 550 series as Grom 😉. I think my Mojave Grom would be absolute too mental to drive when it would hit 48 mph. Though I plan to upgrade it with the 2 in 1 Hobbywing crawler motor/esc (which can be set to "normal" forward/brake/reverse mode). About the same speed on 2S, more fun speed on 3S. Because to be fair, the stock performance is just somewhat underwhelming. As is with the Mega 550 series. Another consideration is the HPI Jumpshot Flux v2 series. A handful on 3S, a lot of fun on 2S. Most standard parts are cheap (though optional parts are way too overpriced). I have the SC and it's my favorite car to drive. Would love to see HPI adapt the platform somehow in a 4WD for rougher terrain. Would be an instand buy for me. They already have the 1/8 scale TVP platform as 4WD.
One thing I would say is, get a 1/10+ if you can. Small cars can't drive in grass. I started with a 1/16 and quickly put it on the shelf to sit for a year. Then I got a 1/8 Kraton and I want to drive it all the time. 10208 is a good starter if you get it for the sale price of around $160
I am a recent arrival to the rc hobby. My first was an hbx 16889a pro and i was not disappointed for 90 dollars. My next purchase was a hbx 2997a and just yesterday I ordered an arrma granite 3s blx for 250. Pretty happy with all of them. Havent broken anything on them yet. Even had the 16889a fully submerged in a creek and it just kept on going. My almost 4 year old son is enjoying them too. Races me with his hopped up power wheels running on a drill battery.
Great list on the top five… the bottom five I would change a few… but that’s what’s so great about this hobby… we might have different ideas of what’s the best RC’s but we will still go rip together, break our RC’s together and when we’re all done go grab a beer and laugh about how much wrenching we’re going to be doing in the next few days😂…
Very good recommendation! I am exploring a new species of RC. How to make an RC that is completely suitable for beginners? What functions should it have? I think I have found 80% of the answers now. I have collected a lot of feedback through excellent videos like this one. I believe that 2025 will bring a new species of RC! We never stop learning and have been listening to everyone's suggestions. This year is our third year. I believe that 2025 will bring new surprises!
I expect they are making them stronger. From what i have seen they were snapping but the tests were being conducted by other channels at skateparks which always break cars regardless of brand. Is running a fairly heavy 1/14th truck made mostly from metal components at a skateparks a sensible thing to do? I wont criticise other channels but most know my take on skateparks and i just dont see how they are a good test for RC cars. There is way more to RC cars than durability. Anyone who reviews an RC car at a skatepark, breaks it then calls it bad is a fool IMO.

I will put on the list also the Rlaarlo rog1 clone called Juisi 1/14: it has a 35a esc instead the 45a,but comes with 3x3s lipo and still costs less than the rog1
The Omni Terminator is Mini 1/10 as I suggest they will use the same chassis for the 1/10 rally car to be released soon, as monster trucks are bigger than cars, this explains the controversial Mini name tag. They should just have called it 1/12 really, using the same chassis for a 1/10 car would be fine if the scale is correct.
Great video brother but Rlaarlo has a better 1/14th brushless truck that been out for years now and it’s far better than the ROG1? I have all of the Rlaarlo trucks including the carbon fiber Terminator, the ROG1 Gladiator, the 1/14 brushless that comes with a 45a ESC a 2847 3200kv motor the truck runs on 3s and it comes with sway bars, oil filled shocks, fans on both the motors and the ESC, 4WD, it does from 47-50 mph and it has no driveshaft issues. For the life of me I cannot find a name or number for this truck even in the instruction manual it doesn’t say what the name of the truck is but it is brushless and I can visually see all the components are correct and it does fly by between 47-50 mph. In my opinion those 3 Rlaarlo’s should be in the top 3. From 4 down should be MJXs all the way and the Arrma Groms as like 9th and 10th. But, I don’t have a Team Corally so I can’t really call it the way you did but you did an awesome job with this countdown brother.👍👍👍💯💯💯💯
A Neo Fighter offers a lot of fun in driving and building it, while being very very affordable for a hobby RC. In my opinion it should be ranked higher than most here on the list. Especially considering their prices.
Tamiya is still in the 80s lol! The modern stuff if lightyears ahead. Its sad to admit as i love my hornet but Tamiya performance wise simply does not compete but the learning process is priceless. Problem is fewer people are interested in kits and just want plug and play RTRs. Thats the reality of 2024 sadly. Also why nitro rc cars are dying out..
I agree, Tamiya is still very popular in my area. What I like about kits is that you get to know what makes the RC work and when (...not if) things break you know how to fix it. The other nice thing is the sheer number of hop ups/aftermarket available to Tamiya kits and other kits you can really improve the RC both in performance and durabllity. The cost IS very affordable too. I'm working on a Manta Ray right now and all in, including hop ups, I'm a shade over $150 USD. Many "affordable" or "inexpensive" RTR's being advertised are north of $200 USD with many pushing $250+ USD (or even higher!). I get that affordability is totally subjective to the individual, but man some of these models being spun as "affordable", "cheap", or "inexpensive" sure don't seem like that to me. That's why I like Tamiya myself. Anyways, whatever brings folks enjoyment in the RC hobby is good. Happy RC'ing!
@@d.r.4453 Exactly. A Neo Fighter here costs around 80€ (or ~87 USD). Including CVA shocks, torque tuned motor and Hobbywing (THW) 1060 ECU. Multiple online shops here sell bare TT-01E and TT-02 chassis for about 50€ (~54$). I enjoy the building process too. Which other hobby grade rc brand has such low prices for ok quality (except the plastic bearings)? Tamiya replacement parts are comparatively cheap aswell. I wouldn't call a 200$+ car "affordable" or cheap aswell.
Why would you knock the Omni Terminator down 4 or 5 spots for not being a true 1/10 when you give the top spot to a smaller 1/14th scale? The ROG1 is great. I agree it knocks mjx off the top 1/14.
Cheaper, just as well built, faster at 48mph on 3s compared to carbon omni 38mph on 3s. Nothing else in the Chinese or branded market comparable on performance/fun factor and looks. Deserves no 1 IMO unless you can suggest a better option which offers the same level of performance? Nothing wrong with the 1/12 omni but they sold themselves short with the size. A mistake I’m sure they regret massively although still a decent size and more portable for some. Both solid trucks all things considered and will depend on budget 🤔
@@beyondRC I agree the ROG1 deserves the top spot. Been taking a closer look at the omni because of it. When I look at the omni as a bigger gladiator instead of a small 1/10, it is more enticing.
I think the reason the team associated mt10 went up is because it's been revamped. I was looking at the measurements and the red and black one towers over the white blue and pink one.
@@itsjase92 that's the problem but if its worth the price tag it could be a better option for people to save a little more and go for something like that due to really good parts support.
Kinda think most beginner folks will visit a hobby shop to get their first rc car. and will also go with the knowledge that they will break something very soon and so a spare parts support would be important (knowing hobby store stocks parts ). Some of your trucks ( not cars) are mail order only and so are the spare parts so why recommend these ?. Something get broken and then wait for 10 days for parts ? Also you have a vast difference in scales. 1/10. 1/8 & 1/16. neither can be compared same goes for the voltage 2s,3s and 4s. Everybody knows 1/10 is the most popular and common scale. Great channel mate. But the best beginner is a 14th scale ??? really ??
Some good points raised and i will answer them the best i can :) 1) Problem is not everyone has access to a a hobby shop. Some people are miles from hobby stores. My nearest is not exactly 'local' to just pop in. 2) Most people buy online these days just like with regular goods/products on amazon etc. Actually going to a store to buy anything these days is becoming rare IMO. 3) I have done a mix of well known brands/cheaper Chinese options. The problem with names brands at the moment is lack of performance for the price. The ARRMA beginner range seems cheap but spares are incredibly expensive (depending on location but for the UK we are hit HARD) that goes for the Gorgon, Vorteks, Fury and GROM Range) 4) Slow Speeds, lack of excitement and overpricing means some of the well known hobby shop low end brushed cars are no longer a good option. 5) 1/10 may be the most popular to some but not all. Some people need more portability and some like throwing a car into a back pack and taking it with them which is why this video varies on scale/size to give plenty of options. 6) Appreciate you like the channel so thanks. yes the ROG1 is a great beginner choice. Its good looking, fast, durable and UK spares will soon be availably from seriousRC.co.uk to order within days. 7) If the bigger named brands could give the people a more affordable, slightly more capable and better performing beginner option no one would look elsewhere at the more powerful and even cheaper Chinese cars. The ROG1 outperforms the GROM range in every single area for less money.. the big brands no longer have control of the budget/cheap market the Chinese brands have taken over. So yes most cars on this list are mail order but what can i do as a reviewer if good value, high performing cars turn up to my door and they turn out to be brilliant value compared to the hobby shop stuff. My question to you @fencer39 is name 3 trucks you would pick over the ROG1? Just remember the ROG1 is a 48mph capable little car which is only $159/£121. Its durable and appealing due to its cool looks. 1) 2 3) Look forward to your reply :)
@@beyondRC ROG 1 is durable because of its small 1/14 th scale You have listed it at a discounted price (usually $199) At normal price it isnt such a great deal. So if you are buying on price then I dont disagree with your second choice of the MJX 14210 at 1/14th scale. or the 14209 which you have also featured.( both priced £135) In 1/10 scale I would As a UK buyer consider a Maverick Quantum xt Brushless @£189 or is you want cheap then brushed at £134 and run it on 3s if you want faster. Purely on the spare parts back up and price from online UK retailers. Or an HPI jumpshot. Comparing different scales, motor types and voltages when recommending an rc car to a beginner is not one and the same.
Many questions could be asked here. Easy to work on? Easy to maintain? Easy to set up and run? They all have their good/bad points this vid is based more on value for money, performance for the money and fun factor. There is nothing else out there that can offer ROG1 performance for the money $150. Name one truck from a well known RC brand that offers the same? The Grom Range could have been a Chinese RC car killer with a brushless system RTR and competitive pricing instead we got $150 trucks that do 20mph out the box and are boring as hell.. same as the vorteks/fury/gorgon. Slow, boring and begging for brushless. Everything a beginner doesn't want to do as soon as they get comfortable. I wish i could push big brand budget options to the top but if they offer sub par performance compared to Chinese cars i am left with no choice. People want the most fun, performance, durability and good looks for their money and the ROG1 tops the lot.. Slow and boring sadly doesn't keep peoples interest in the hobby and i wish Arrma and big brands would take note and make cars that perform similar to the chinese cars for similar money or slightly more. Who wants brushed in 2024 :/
@@beyondRC i want a truck that handles good and is easy to work in do you really think the mojave grom needs brushless? it will flip if it has its not wide as the typhon grom and the 2wd vorteks will have a lot of torque steer

Debatable. Rog 1 does 48mph on 3s Carbon omni only 38mph on 3s Rog 1 has the same build quality Rog 1 is cheaper If omni was 1/10 it would be worth every cent/penny of the money. They made a big mistake not making it a proper 1/10 as it can’t compete with the well known brands in terms of size. It was a very strange move by rlaarlo to make it an odd size and not comparable to any of the 1/10 segment due to this.
Expensive brands . So much more beginner friendly options than any of these you even mention downfalls of the trucks you put in when there are far better . Is this sponsored?
Not sponsored. Okay rich do me a favour and name 3 better options over ROG1 for $159 you seem to be confident there is better out there so can you kindly expand on what they are? or forget about ROG1 entirely. Just 3 beginner options you would pick. 1) 2) 3) Cheers in advance :)

The ARRMA beginner range seems cheap but spares are incredibly expensive (depending on location but for the UK we are hit HARD) that goes for the Gorgon, Vorteks, Fury and GROM Range)
4) Slow Speeds, lack of excitement and overpricing means some of the well known hobby shop low end brushed cars are no longer a good option.

@@beyondRC ROG 1 is durable because of its small 1/14 th scale You have listed it at a discounted price (usually $199) At normal price it isnt such a great deal.
So if you are buying on price then I dont disagree with your second choice of the MJX 14210 at 1/14th scale. or the 14209 which you have also featured.( both priced £135)
In 1/10 scale I would As a UK buyer consider a Maverick Quantum xt Brushless @£189 or is you want cheap then brushed at £134 and run it on 3s if you want faster. Purely on the spare parts back up and price from online UK retailers. Or an HPI jumpshot.
Comparing different scales, motor types and voltages when recommending an rc car to a beginner is not one and the same.
Try redcat valkyrie
no Redcat availability in the UK sadly. I'm UK based and cant recommend something i cant test or buy to others :(
Oh, that explains it all
RoG1 chews up and spits out axles constantly
Never had an issue so far with mine. Very interesting
hmm best beginner does that also mean easy to work on?
Rog1 yes
Who wants brushed in 2024 :/
@@beyondRC i want a truck that handles good and is easy to work in do you really think the mojave grom needs brushless? it will flip if it has its not wide as the typhon grom
and the 2wd vorteks will have a lot of torque steer
@@politie_jip112 the Groms or anything Arrma in fact are easy to work on. Nothing wrong with them but they are so slow and i found them a little boring to drive and craved more power. Of course you can make them brushless, upgrade shafts and diffs but then you have spent over 300 and could have got a 1/10 lol
@@beyondRC the best rc car is the 1 you have with you and can rely on that it doesnt break small not to fast incase of small spaces needs to handle variable terrain
no body clips
Omni Terminator carbon over the ROG1
Debatable.
Rog 1 does 48mph on 3s
Carbon omni only 38mph on 3s
Rog 1 has the same build quality
Rog 1 is cheaper
If omni was 1/10 it would be worth every cent/penny of the money. They made a big mistake not making it a proper 1/10 as it can’t compete with the well known brands in terms of size. It was a very strange move by rlaarlo to make it an odd size and not comparable to any of the 1/10 segment due to this.
I vote for omni-terminator, it has a central diff and a better suspension/chassis. Higher speed isnt everything. Rog1 is too plasticky imo
The boost range is dead.
why do you think its at no 10 lol. Still had to include them as technically they are beginner trucks :/

Still waiting... ?
Lol@@beyondRC
Still waiting..
The wait continues... ZZZZ
ROG1 is even smaller than the Terminator and not as good looking
Again debatable 😉
Strange top 10 vid. It looks like you don't even rate first 4 or 5 cars on the list so why are they on there? 😂
I have to be inclusive. The 6-10 choices are all fine and worthy beginner choices but the cars higher up on the list offer a bit more for the money. Could say why include the other 9 if ROG1 is no.1. Same difference 😂
sponsored by Rlaarlo...shame...
£0 by rlaarlo 👌
@dasch3studio you can take traxxas and stick it straight up ur a ss
He's clearly not. Shame... commenting just with an assumption. How dumb. Lol
@@anthonylim5120 it’s all good Anthony I deal with this kind of thing daily. As soon as I say something is good instantly I’m being paid.. it’s like I’m not allowed to actually like anything or class anything as good 😂 To think I would risk my integrity and everything I have built over the last 4.5 years for a single $150 car shows the level of stupidity some individuals possess.. one lie and the future of my channel and RUclips career is over. Is it worth it? Absolutely not… would I do it for rlaarlo? No. Would I do it for arrma/traxxas? Again NO!
Bro don't bother ...u r gud at this keep doin it ...follower from india@@beyondRC
Hiper Go's & forgitaboutit. Name brands releasing brushed this far in the 21st Century. Thats ridiculously
the new traxxas mini maxx looks promising but of course its $250.
